New update should make date rewards retrievable. Let me know if it works.

It works beautifully!  Thank you so much, for this and for everything else you've done to make TS2 more realistic, more functional and more enjoyable to play.

I'm not sure if I can request a fix or if I should even be posting here, but my attempts to search for the issue I've experienced yielded nothing.  So, I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to air this particular AL grievance.

Although flowers from Nightlife can be retrieved from outside of an apartment, gifts from dates cannot.  At first, I was upset about the financial issue (because the Sim who received the gift was on the destitute side), the gift giver placed it directly in front of the trash chute on her floor.  Sooo, when the landlady tried to throw away the newspaper, she basically got stuck in a loop.  Pick up, notice something in way, put down, pick up, notice something in way, put down.

And, to top it all off, it was one of those hideous, pricey blue vases, so everyone visiting the lot soon gravitated to her 2x4 tile porch to gawk at it, soon finding themselves stuck, along with the landlady, who likely would've died trying to throw away that newspaper if I hadn't gotten so frustrated with the situation that I ended up moving the woman out of the apartment altogether, for lack of any other way to repair it.

So, my question is whether or not there's any way to make date gifts grabbable from outside of an apartment or eliminate the ability to receive them.  Or has it already been done?  Again, I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but it'd be a nice addition to the AL hacks.

The denizens of my castawayesque island (now with more voodoo!) are forever in your debt.  At the rate I was going on the clothing front, I feared that I would end up with more stranded tourists, zombies and pirates than natives...

Thanks for the info & link.  I've been having much the same problem lately, though the main source of my frustration has to do with orphaned textures and meshes, due in part to my Sims Connection subscription incident (oh, the horror!), so I'll give it a go.

That teen boy has nice bewbeez. Are we SURE it's a boy? I have female friends who look like that (with longer skirts, true).

I'm all for letting your freak flag fly, but in the Sims, subtle secondary sex characteristics and gender clues are often all we have to go on, as they lack defined personalities and unalterable behaviors. Dress your teen boys in drag if you like, but when you add bewbeez, it's a little difficult to buy that it's really a boy.

Maybe a transsexual. Which, hey, if that's your bag, power to you.

Maybe he stuffs his bra?   Grin  

I'm not well versed in regards to transsexuality either, nor do I have any prejudices associated with same.  However, even if his *ahem* chest is real, he still has boy bits, which technically makes him a boy.  I think.  His entire body appears to be modified, though I would consider peeking under his frock to see what flavor bits he/she has to be an invasion of his/her personal space and privacy, so I shall leave that daunting task up to someone else.

This thread has really encouraged me to start skinning some decent clothes for the pixelated folk.

Well, it was a boy before he was swiftly emasculated for your viewing pleasure.  Or mortification.  Either way, I can assure you that he didn't feel a thing.  And hey, at least the buckle-up thigh boots are flats.  He could probably run a mile in them without getting too many blisters, though I don't know if the fishnet stockings would add to or detract from the potential chafing.  I'd say wearing something like that to formal occasions might prove slightly more uncomfortable for him in the long run.....   Wink

Heh.  My cooking skills don't seem to be the problem.  After all, anyone who can transform peppers into cereal must be a culinary genius.  My problem appears to reside in the logic arena because no matter how many points I accumulate, I never seem to have enough to understand Maxis.

Although I had a hard time deciding what qualified as whore clothes, these are two that I stumbled across this evening:

The last one is obviously a teenage boy, though before tonight, I hadn't been to Simmergirl & didn't realize it contained female clothing modified for males until after I'd surfed around a bit.  No big warnings, no pesky memberships, just lots o' stuff on display for convenient, one stop pseudo-shopping.  There are dresses for toddler boys & male children, as well, though I didn't find any whorish, for lack of a better word because I have absolutely no idea what sort of words to use in situations that involve transvestism and young children.  Fancy that.  Guess I need to get out more or something.

Frankly, the whole roach motelesque fridge stocking logic perplexes me.  Last I checked, if I put a tomato in my refrigerator, I could take it back out if I needed and/or wanted it.  Unfortunately, I fail to understand what sort of strange molecular processes occur when Sims put fresh food and fish into their fridges that then, somehow, not only make the items unretrievable, but also make it possible to turn cucumbers into macaroni & cheese.  

Being able to check fish supplies would come in handy though, as would being able to use the refrigerator to store fresh food for non-cooking related uses (gifts, sale, juice) rather than having to keep everything in a Sim's inventory.

Frankly, I don't mind the thought of having a little bit of random mayhem in my game, but it's been virtually mayhem free, and I've been playing since TS2 was released.  I did experience the bug related pregnancy death you mentioned in the scarecrow thread, which was triggered when a Sim visited a community lot whilst pregnant (but before she started to show), but beyond that, the only two accidental Sim deaths I've experienced were death by fright and death by satellite.  The death by fright incident would've been avoidable if I hadn't built a mausoleum to house the urns of 9 generations of dead Sims & let one of my knowledge Sims fulfill her "see a ghost" want.  The death by satellite incident would've been avoidable as well if I hadn't let Daisy Greenman watch the pretty clouds.

Considering the number of ways that a Sim can die, I guess I've been lucky.  That or I just rule my Sims with an iron fist.  Probably the latter.  I don't let them do stupid things very often unless the population is in dire need of culling.  Or the whim strikes me.  Or they continuously engage in stupid or annoying behavior during those odd moments that I feel gracious enough to grant them free will, in which case, I generally feel the need to punish them.  In my game, stupidity is a crime and, depending upon its severity, it can be punishable by death.  It's my version of natural selection.
