TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More bullshit from Massive Shithead

My father-in-law loves to play with telemarketers. He gets all excited sounding, asks lots of questions about the product or service being sold, then gives a sob story about how this has been a rough year, he lost his job, etc., and how he would love to buy whatever, if only he had the money. Then asks the telemarketer if phone sales is a good job, starts getting all personal about how much money are they making and eventually asks if they are hiring. It's quite a long, drawn out performance, very entertaining for the family, probably not so much for the poor telemarketer.
His other favorite tatic is to do the same bit about getting all excited and asking questions, and then tell the telmarketer to hold on while he asks his wife if it's okay to buy whatever. Then he puts the phone down and just walks away .
Frankly I'm surprised he's still on anyone's call list.

Exactly the reaction I expected from clerkwhiners. Mgt/clerkwhiner thank you very much. I also stated once already, second and last time here: I do not go in yelling and insulting. I do not cuss etc. I start my 'act', because that is what it is and it does work, when I am treated badly, condensendingly, insultingly, as if I were stupid, told over and over again about the 'policy.' Anyway, most of the time, repeating the consumer laws alone brings the manager out of hiding and tada: problem solved. But if I am driven to a scream, then I scream. So...when you were a mgt/clerkwhiner just how many corporate policies did you effectively change because some irate customer made you his/her target for the day? How about as a customer, have you seen any actual changes in policy that you think you can attribute to masses of people having meltdowns in a store? Sorry, when I witness a scene like you are talking about I might step back and have second thoughts about the store if I see that the employees are behaving badly, or seem to be poorly trained, but how does watching a customer behave like an asshole reflect badly on the store? All that does, is make me think that said customer has the maturity and communication skills of a two year old.

So where can I get me one of them thar rocket launcher thangamabobs? I've decided you just might be right, if we launch enough of em at stupid, belligerent customers, we won't have a customer service problem here anymore either.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV Stupid Maids Don't Do Anything!!

I spent some time last night watching the maid at one of the larger hotels on Twikki Island. I was trying to figure out why they only sometimes clean up plates from the rooms. I have decided that maid behavior is very odd. The maid spent more time going into the bedrooms and staring at the lamps than anything else. Walked past a pile of dirty dished on the lobby floor at least a dozen times to go stare at said lamps and then returned to stand around the checkout desk. Sometime toward the end of her shift she finally decided to clean up the dishes. She must have been really bored.

My maids don't pick up dirty dishes either, except at one hotel where I swapped to a 2x1 table in the room. Do you suppose they don't clean the round tables because the tables are 'facing' the wrong way or are too close to the walls?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Inventory oddity

I have a sim who had been to all three vacation spots, but had still not completed her quest. So I returned her to Twikki Island where she plundered the pirate ship. When I checked her inventory to see what she got I noticed a blank slot in her inventory. Mousing over or clicking on it gives me a "*Social - Gesture - Local Greetings" description. Whatever it is, it can be given as a gift after the family has returned to the main hood, but once it's 'placed' somewhere it totally disappears. It doesn't seem to have had any affect on anything in my game, so far... so should I be concerned, or is it just a random glitch? This is a test hood with no hacks and very little CC.

Windkeeper has some default stuff, mostly clothing, at TSR and possibly MTS2 also. There is also default eyeshadow and lipstick at MTS2 that looks a lot nicer than the Maxis makeup, in my opinion. I wouldn't mind finding more default replacements for some of the objects myself.

If buttterflies were to be caught and released in a different spot would they stay in the new spot? I've never released any, so I don't know what happens to them.
Does anybody else think G-spot when they see the thread title, or am I just a perv?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Changing Comfort and Energy settings?

I have found some really nice beds and a few chairs that I like the look of, but the settings have been enhanced on them to make them the highest level of comfort, energy and environment while at the same time making it one of the cheapest priced pieces of furniture in it's category.
Would you be willing to share where you got them from? I seem to have the opposite problem in that everything I find and like usually has a comfort value of 5 or less. I like having cheaty things in my game.

TS2: Burnination / Building Contest of Awesomeness / Re: A House of Lesser Lose, by SaraMK. [Updated]

I fight it highly amusing that the people giving advice on aesthetics did so much worse than Sara herself.
Happy to be of service. The judging being done by someone whose sim outfit makes my eyes bleed, I didn't really expect much of a score in aesthetics. My idea and your idea of what is appealing are apparently worlds apart. I prefer Sara's house to some of the others you've given a higher score to. Different strokes for different folks. I'll probably suck on technical merit too, but since I just do this for the hell of it it's not like I'm gonna curl up in a ball and cry over it. I had fun with it. *shrug*

When you make sunken lounges etc, the lighting doesn't work properly, a real nuisance because it means less design options. I think from memory some standing lights work.
Pity that the light won't reach the bottom of the rooms. I love the look of houses with split level rooms. I quit playing them, and also quit playing houses with foundations, because I couldn't take the bobbing up and down of the camera view any longer.
