I had to reinstall my whole game for some reason, and when I got done, I saw that no neighborhood past Seasons shows up.  I still have access to everything from all the XP's and SP's, the game just doesn't run the last few 'hoods.  This is a win in my book.  However, in the interest of possibly helping you, you could use SimPe.  Open the neighborhood browser, then the Sim browser and search for your sim there.

she also climbs out of the garden club wishing well if a sim is so importunate as to wish for romance too many times.  then she stalks them and beats them up.

to get stuff to show in your game (with asterisk, as it doesn't bother me):

open file with simpe.
open objd files RAW data.
if catalog sorting 0x0040 (valid ep flags 1) reads 0x1000, CHANGE it to 0x0001.
commit.
save after doing all objd's in file.

this will make the file base-game compliant and eliminate the need for store downloader.

Anyone else notice issues with the above-named video card and the Package Installer?  I'd adjusted the settings so my game would run a little faster (and all my Sims have sparkly edges, but I can deal with that)  and the next time I tried to install some custom walls, my game crashed to the ground, and I got a systems error message relating to the Sims2Pack.  The clean installer was useless also.  All I could think of that I'd done was change the video setting, so I changed it back, rebooted, and now I'm back in business, but I'm still curious.  (Yes, I realize that the card is low-end, but when one lives under a bridge, one takes what one can find.)

Is there a possible connection between the two, or is this a tight pants issue?

Im so happy i remembered this hack after i installed FT yesterday and there were BFF's all over the place.

BFF = Big Fat Fail. 

 

 


another BAD combination is nervous subject and loki beaker.  (yeah, i know that in real life two guys would never have genetic spawn with each other, but i'm twisted that way).

Oooo, pretty!  I've got a neighborhood camera mod but I think I'll try that one instead.

I was wondering if there's a way to make the camera on Community lots work correctly all the time, instead of stopping at a 45^o angle above the lot which makes me dizzy.  I've ignored it as long as I can (it's been an issue since I installed the base game with no hacks and has persisted through 2 computer upgrades) but since it seems to only happen on certain lots, I've been avoiding it by not sending my Sims to those lots.  However, I've noticed it happening on Three Lakes lots lately.

I'm thinking that editing one of the camera texts would help but am not sure what the params should be.

what a sweetheart you are.  i just got the ep a couple of days ago.  the woohoo teens is not inteen, fyi.  the antiwatchout was not working in my game before bv, if my sims were able to walk off the lots after i took it out, that tells me that it was a problem.
and you're not bowing low enough to use "namaste" as a signature. 

and i was making a comment about the elder clothes, not asking for your opinion.  opinions are like assholes, you know, everyone has them, and some are nastier than others.

Just for someone's (anyone's) eddification, I've managed to locate the files that were borking my game: "anitwatchout", which was already a known problem for Sims walking off the lots, and "teen_woohoo" which was screwing up the want slots.  I should be used to the Eaxis of Eavil policing my morals, by now, but it still irritates me a bit..

Anyway, hope this helps.


 

you say that like it's a bad thing.  aside from the added filesize, they look okay.

i've got a mod that makes all the adult clothes available to all adults, eg. young, elder and "regular" ones, but being me i haven't checked it out since i installed bv.  i'm pretty sure i got it at mts2...

i yanked out all my hacks last night, including "antiwatchout"  which i hadn't remembered was in there because it doesn't work, then reloaded the game.  everything worked perfectly.

then i put a few back in that shouldn't have affected the wants slots or the walking function, and simmies can still walk to other lots, but the want slots are borkened again.   not sure which behaviors are affected, although the lotdebugger fixes them temporarily. 
slogging on...   

 But I like tight pants.

thanks.  i was trying to figure out which behavior mod could possibly be causing the conflict, and i forgot i had a visitor transporter installed. 
i ran sw's conflict detector but it didn't come up with anything.

i just installed the ep today so i'm still fixing up the borks.

i wondered what was up with that.  i tell my sims to walk off the lot, and then the action drops out of their queue.  also, is anyone else having as much trouble with the wants slots as i am?  i don't see any seasons wants at all since i installed bonvoyage, and after the sims get done going thought all the vacation wants, the slots stay empty.

 

a search with simpe revealed nothing, so i pulled out the last build set i had installed; et voila, the arch came back home.  i'm not really sorry to lose the set, because it wasn't displaying properly anyway (blue is the most annoying color i know, since i started playing sims 2).

now i just have to start yanking out hacks and flinging them back in, to see which ones are borken.  i guess it's better this way; otherwise i'd have to play the game.

you never can tell what is going to cause trouble, sometimes.  i had to take out "moveoutteens" when i got pets because it overwrote the "find pet job for" in the newspaper.
