Is the Cambodia set available from anywhere else than 4shared? I might just fail at searching.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: News Paper Mod Suggestion on: 2009 December 19, 17:41:20
well I googled it real quick and there seems to be a 'no newspaper' hack on MTS2
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Sepparating Castaway handheld game from craft stations on: 2009 December 16, 15:50:51
I've been adding some of the cs global accessories to my game, and today I tried extracting the handheld game. It seems to be working fine and is buyable from the small electronics kiosk without causing any meltdowns.

I cloned it using the object workshop in simPE but I can only do that in two strengths, and since it has a more complicated mesh I copied a whole lot of stuff I probably didn't need. I have JMP's island crafting station (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,10993.0.html) and clicking it now pops up an option to make a 'strange little came'. The same happens with the toy station. How should I go about detaching the unnecessary stuff from the package?
Or is it somehow possible to make it craftable along with the castaway radio and radio-controlled car? It wold look better in the neighbourhood than the electronic vending machine Roll Eyes

Alright, I restored the game from the backup and it's working fine. Thanks for the help

I could blow my neighborhood up 100 million times, but I don't care!  You know why?  I BACK UP MY FILES!  Grin
[/quote]

I did back up my save files before I installed the mod. Unfortunatelly I just started playing this particular game and I'm not sure what to do with them or if I should have made backups of any other files.

To clear things up, none of the game files seem to be gone from the folders, the game just doesn't recognize them when I run it.
6  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Entire savegame gone after awesomemod install on: 2009 December 06, 15:13:02
I installed the awesome mod and the framework files following the directions in coconnor's post and the game loaded up without any problems. I did however notice that it didn't seem to work 100% as the cheat functions I tried didn't take. When I tried to save the game I got the old error #12 message. it usually only happens when something is occurring in the game such as a party or something and it's gone in a couple of sim hours, but this time I couldn't save at all. When I exited to neighbourhod view and tried saving from there the whole game crashed.

When I load the game now my entire saved game seems to be gone and I only get the 'start new game' option. I have a backup of my Saves folder from a few days ago, but I'm afraid to start moving files around without knowing what I'm doing. On that note it is entirely possible that I didn't install the framework files correctly.

I also have my sims program files on a separate drive in different folders because I don't have room for the game on my main drive. I don't have any other hacks or mods installed aside from hair and eye replacements. I don't really care about the awesome mod anymore, but is there any way to recover my game?

Are the two new baby objects available somewhere already or should I go ahead and buy them?

Do you have BV installed? Maybe it has something to do with adding different hairstyles to different clothing.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Launcher being an assclown on: 2009 June 30, 20:28:21
Sigh. I decided not to pay for the game before some of this crap is actually fixed, but I'll stop holding my breath.

I don't have the patch installed because I heard it only makes things worse for some people and it didn't actually address any of the problems I've had. I'll try reinstalling the game and see if that helps. Do I *have* to patch the game in order for the launcher to work?
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Launcher being an assclown on: 2009 June 30, 18:46:46
I've used the launcher to install the sims 3 store files without any trouble (one at a time), but when I try to do anything more laborious such as uninstall something or add Riverview, it goes into cardiac arrest. It freezes up at the 'installing' screen for up to four hours until I terminate the process. I've tried this in every way I can conceive short of standing on my head; using s3rc, disconnected from the internet, firewall blocking the launcher, 3viewer etc. I do play a pirated version if that has anything to do with it.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help needed, making NPCs from scratch on: 2009 June 27, 09:23:49
Thanks for the advice. After some trial and error I ended up using  a hack from MTS2 to keep the NPCs from reverting back to their original uniforms, after that everything worked fine
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Help needed, making NPCs from scratch on: 2009 June 24, 17:06:56
I decided I wanted to make a castaway themed neighbourhood, but the NPCs are seriously cramping my style. I've been looking at the clean neighbourhood guide, but as far as I can tell I've only found advice on how to batch create NPCs or alternatively to randomly generate them one at a time.

Is it possible to make them in CAS with their custom uniforms and then make them into the right sort of NPC? I know paladin has an NPC editing program, but I don't want to mess with the NPCs in my other neighbourhoods.

The only solution I've been able to come up with is creating the ones i need with the tree and then using sim surgery on all of them in SimPE, but will the custom uniforms stick or will they just change back into the original ones?

Thanks in advance
13  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2009 April 04, 11:55:49
Is it at all possible to have a Pets template that gets rid of all the strays but not the wolves? I assume the leader of the pack (vroom, vroom) shows up anyway because he's an NPC, but what about the stray wolves?
Otherwise, if it's possible to make them in Cas and turn them into 'townies,' how do I flag them as wolves?
14  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Upgraded Jewelry for the BV Machine on: 2008 February 18, 22:37:14
Finally I can use the damned things!
What I really want to know is if it's possible to convert some of the female jewlery to males?
15  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS masks and clothes [FIXED : Castaway casual four / Native career ] on: 2008 February 18, 22:22:58
I made adult shaman clothes, too, but without tattoos and for use with meshes from university ep.
Elder closes will be the next. Then I could upload them all at once.

I know, but I made them with tattoos, mostly for my own use but I figured that someone else's time could be put to better use if I helped.
16  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS masks and clothes [FIXED : Castaway casual four / Native career ] on: 2008 February 18, 21:37:28
The adult shaman outfits are done, but I could use some help locating the alpha and texture maps for the other outfits (native underwear for any ages).
I don't really know anything about meshing or skinning or even simPE. I converted the floors and walls from SLS last year, so I just know enough to look for the "big pictures"
17  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS masks and clothes [FIXED : Castaway casual four / Native career ] on: 2008 February 18, 20:59:57
I'm currently working on the shaman clothes for both genders and the native swimsuits for men, if you want some help
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Walk to school/work, no carpool on: 2008 February 18, 18:40:14
Is it possible to make a hack that would get rid of all the cars and make everyone walk instead, with BV installed? Sims could walk to work and school and the service could arrive by foot. (The maid did manage it in the sims1.)
I want a primitive-type neighbourhood and even with dirt roads the cars would seem a bit out of place
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Revival of Sims 1 phone calls!! on: 2008 February 18, 18:34:26
Haha, I remember that the very first time I played I got the 'they're coming. Lock all the doors and don't leave the house' message. I was  terrified and deleted all the doors and windows on the house Cheesy
Oh, I loved those things. Especially the cash awards and the 'adopt a baby?'
20  Awesomeware / Playsets & Toys / Re: Salvaged Stories Crap on: 2008 February 16, 09:40:33
No, we generally don't bother with pictures, as they are pure bloatware and have no functional elements, thus requiring absolutely no skills to clone badly.

...But it's so hot
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there no cure for Petspam? on: 2007 March 19, 13:35:16
Well I'd certaintly appreciate it.  Smiley thanks
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Is there no cure for Petspam? on: 2007 March 19, 12:59:20
I was wondering if there's any mod that gets rid of these wants to 'teach pet command' that will not die? Or, worse yet, command them to do something utterly useless. I've been looking for weeks and I can't understand why I haven't found anything yet. Surely this must be pissing other players off as well.
