1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: What do those "chimes" mean? on: 2011 January 09, 18:53:36
so sorry to ruin your forum. I DID search for the word chimes and got squat.  So I don't know how you expect me to get my question answered if I don't ask it.
Now feel free to flame this.

And I thought this was the forum for asking about the Awesomemod NOT a bug thread.  That's a completely different thread.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / What do those "chimes" mean? on: 2011 January 09, 16:48:06
I just started playing a new game and noticed at night when my new sim is sleeping I hear these weird chimes playing (a series of tones like played on a xylephone..bong bong bong bong).

What do these represent?  She isn't accomplishing anything cause she's just sleeping.  I'm assuming it must be Awesomemod cause people I've talked to who don't use it have no idea what I'm talking about.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Setting apartment dwellers as "Chosen" on: 2010 December 11, 20:03:56
I am trying to Control+Click my apartment dwelling Bridgeport sims to make them "Chosen" and I don't get the "Make Sacred" option.  Is there a different approach to making these people Chosen or is it just not possible right now?
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Master of Seduction isn't working now on: 2010 December 09, 01:07:50
That might be it.  She got invited to a party at the sims house and everyone seemed to be in good moods but when the sim went to compliment her appearance she gave her a look like she'd farted or something or maybe she's just not a dyke?  The lady the sim was after is  in the athelete career though so you never know.  Maybe she just didn't want to give away her secret to the papparazzis hanging around?
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Master of Seduction isn't working now on: 2010 December 08, 23:46:48
She went to France and had no problem seducing just about everyone in the hostel.
Maybe it's just Bridgeport?  I'll see what happens when she gets back home.
6  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Master of Seduction isn't working now on: 2010 December 08, 02:52:32
I only have Awesomemod in my game.  No other mods or hacks.  I have nver used the Master of Seduction game reward before but today I tried it but my sim got rejected.

I don't know if there is anything in the Awesomemod that would conflict with this reward working properly (heck, maybe EA borked it with their last patch, who knows?) but from what I hear the reward should normally work all the time, especially since the two sims were already good friends so her kiss shouldn't have been rejected.
7  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Can anything increase gigs? on: 2010 November 25, 18:15:25
I don't see anything in Awesomemod that conflicts with getting band gigs but something in the game must be wrong cause I've had bands in two different cities for some time and they are very well known celebrities and perform often (on their own, not being requested) but they have never gotten any requests to play for money.

Could you add something that would increase the chances of receiving gigs?
8  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Game Update for: 1.15/2.10/3.6/4.3 on: 2010 September 07, 23:08:51
It's a truly STUPID "upgrade" (if you want to call it that) but if you decide to ignore it will you constantly get the message asking if you want to install it anyway?

And what about later when an important update comes along?

It won't fuck up any neighborhoods we already have with Awesomemod if we go ahead and just install it?

I remember in Sims 2 people made car bodies much better than the ones in this pack coming up and gave them away from free.  I mean that's all it is. New shells to go over the existing cars...except EA expects people to pay for them.  Big Whoop
9  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Do you have to uninstall and reinstall you whole game if it explodes? on: 2010 September 04, 20:53:05
Of course that's what I did. I just figured there were people here with a hell of a lot more experience in this than me so I'd run it up the flagpole and see who moons it.
10  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Do you have to uninstall and reinstall you whole game if it explodes? on: 2010 September 04, 19:40:04
If you get one of those messaging saying that your neighhborhood is corrupt and has exploded into a big fiery ball do you have to completely uninstall your game and reinstall it or does simply deleting that neighborhood and starting a new game solve the problem?
11  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Your neighborhood is corrupt and has exploded in a bfbvfs on: 2010 September 03, 19:12:09
I hate to ask about the original thread but I recently had a neighborhood do the exploding bit myself and wondered if it was caused by my downloading a sim off of MTS's site?
There were several slider hacks used in making the character and so I just removed all that stuff after I rebooted the game and bulldozed the lot that sim had been on.  Of course I didn't save the game with that sim so I'm hoping the problem won't return but then you mention there is no known cure at this time?  Do you know the cause either or is it just something that happens?
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Why am I still getting the Update warning? on: 2010 July 18, 05:56:50
Thanks.   Yep that took care of it.
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Why am I still getting the Update warning? on: 2010 July 17, 17:12:30
Hmm... you ge the message INSIDE the game while you're playing?

Thankfully that isn't happening to me...knock on wood.

It just comes up once when I get to the select a family screen.
14  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Why am I still getting the Update warning? on: 2010 July 17, 16:33:44
Awesomemod was working fine and so I know I had it installed properly but now I'm getting the update warning so I downloaded the new file and replaced the one I had in the game with the new one, cleared my caches and relaunched the game and I'm still getting the warning that I need to update the game !?

Why am I still getting the warning?
15  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Families suddenly failing at work and kids at school when I switch houses? on: 2010 May 12, 00:29:08
I never had this problem before.  I set my three households as Sacred and let them go and they would do just fine at their jobs and the kids went to school and got A's.
But after the last time I updated the Awesomemod I started noticing that when I'd make the rounds between the different households everyone was sucking at their jobs, getting fired and the kids were failing school.

Is there some new setting in the mod I need to tweak or what might be causing this?
16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Here we go again on: 2010 March 25, 01:17:55
I don't give a shit if anybody cares

Is that good enough reason?

Now put that smelly eel down, you don't know where it's been
17  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Here we go again on: 2010 March 25, 00:10:50
Damn.  How f'ed up are EA's games that they have to patch on a weekly or monthly basis?

Can't they hire people who can program straight the first time?  (obviously not)  but then on slave wages I suppose it's hard to find good employees

If I play without the Awesomemod I assume the game will screw with my (previously) Chosen families?  Damn them all to Hell!

Guess I'll just have to do something till the mod is updated for this new round.
18  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: French sim unable to gain "Chosen" state? on: 2010 February 20, 17:28:18
Thanks
19  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / French sim unable to gain "Chosen" state? on: 2010 February 19, 23:40:38
I love the Awesomemod and made my main family Chosen then when the son grew up and married a French sim I tried to put the attribute on her and couldn't get it to take.
Oddly when she gave birth though I could put the attribute on her child.  So out of a household of six sims only 5 are actually "Chosen".

Why wouldn't the mod apply to her too?
20  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TUTORIAL: Merging the Maxis neighborhoods. on: 2009 December 20, 14:28:04
Yes, this is what I did and of course it isn't working.  It probably is a moot point to try and resurrect the game at this point what with Sims 3 out now but it would be nice.
Even though I've copied my saved files back over into my new system it doesn't seem tlo be "reading" the merged Neighborhoods file so I'm seeing the default neighborhoods screen (the box where you pick where you want to play like Pleasantview, Veronaville, Strangetown, etc.)

I see no Downtown district at all.  In my original setup I had Pleasantview as my main neighborhood and Strangetown, Veronaville, the default Downtown and the Seasons neighborhood as my Downtown districts.

Oddly when I open Pleasantview I see the original families again but if I open up any of the later neighborhoods like the one from FreeTime I see the families as I had most recently played them.

Oh, and I get some kind of error message from Windows 7 about the base game (about a compatibility error) so maybe that has something to do with why it isn't reading the files correctly?

thanks Microsoft.  :-P
21  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TUTORIAL: Merging the Maxis neighborhoods. on: 2009 December 16, 00:10:29
OK...this might be futile but I just bought a brand spankin' new computer with Windows 7 installed.  I want to transfer my Sims 2 setup (i.e., all my merged neighborhood) over but I've noticed Windows 7 has a different file structure than XP so I'm wondering if there's anything I need to alter or can I just move the files and folders I have on my old box directly over?

If you don't have Windows 7 I guess the main difference is there are no "Documents and Settings" folder and I have 3 "Program Files" folders on my machine although the Electronic Arts folders are only in one of these thankfully so that makes it alittle simpler.

See, I figured the best way to go was to clean install my base game and expansions first and then afterwards determine whether I could then just move the merged files and folders over and overwrite the files and folders set up on the new computer?

22  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / When do new families move in? on: 2009 August 30, 19:40:44
I have lots of empty lots but the game doesn't seem to want to move new sims into the houses.  My sims meet new acquaintances at work or at school but shouldn't the game pop those sims into one of these empty houses and make them full-fledged members of town?

All it does is occasionally move existing sims around from houses to houses (except the ones I have made Sacred...thanks for that...was going mad with the game uprooting my favorite families).

Also, on a slightly different note:   Sims now accomplish wishes but the icons don't disappear.  For instance, they have a desire to Fish and I save that into one of their Wish slots.  Then they go fishing and they get the points but the icon doesn't go away so I can put a new wish in it's place.

23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installation of 1.3 Patch completely fucked up my game on: 2009 July 30, 21:41:50
Yes that sim DOES look like Sims 2 ... so much fucking BETTER than they look in Sims 3.  Maybe that's a blessing.
Although is that supposed to be Bob Newbie?  Did he have a sex change? Cheesy
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.3 Released on: 2009 July 29, 00:36:44
Something strange happened when I patched with the Awesome mod installed.  Afterwards my sims couldn't do the most basic things like climb stairs, navigate to bed or use the toilet.  They acted like they had labotomies.

After removing the mod though and relaunching they were fine.

Also the no censor patch no longer works in my game so I have all that damn pixelation
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sim-painted portraits are a red, grainy mess on: 2009 June 21, 17:42:26
I've had this problem myself.  Thought it was something wrong with my machine.

Glad to know it was just another of the bone-headed decisions made by Mr. Humble (God, what a name) and his gang that made all the poor choices with Sims 3.

Do these people actually play the damn games?
