1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Mailbox problems with AM installed on: 2012 December 28, 20:32:59
I've been having the same issue. I'd had it on one family, and it irritated me so much that I started a new game. Now the freeze happens every time I check the mail and I have to end the process from Task Manager.

AwesomeMod is my only mod. My Sims don't have many collectibles stored, nor do any of them have gardening skill so no omnis. Before the glitch started happening, I was getting anywhere from 1 - 3 love letters a day for my parent Sim, who is also a celebrity so she was receiving random stalker gifts too. I did receive that creepy imaginary friend for a now-toddler and never checked the mail, so I figure that's stuck in there now. In addition, the flag is now always up on the mailbox so I can't test anything regarding the flag status - but I've never been able to check my mail with the flag down before, anyway. I have also not had any weirds happen with the Adventure Board.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Mod Crash on: 2009 November 10, 00:09:28
AwesomeMod requires that your game be updated to the latest version (1.3 or 1.4)!  So I would definitely start there!

Thanks for being helpful. Smiley
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 June 20, 20:38:01
Edit: I'm a moron who somehow managed to delete her SunsetValley.objectCache file. I didn't even realize I'd gone into that folder, but hey. I guess I'll leave this up for anyone else who is a dumdum.

I've skimmed through this thread a few times and I haven't seen this yet, but forgive me if I've missed something.

I've been playing with no problems for quite some time, and today I installed a bunch of custom content using delphy's installer. Things were fine. Then, I tried to install Riverview, using the damned Launcher, and it just never installed. I wanted to check, even though I couldn't find the files anywhere on my computer, so I loaded the game up. Riverview is definitely -not- installed, but I got a nice gift -  I have two games, and both of them look like this now:

My neighbourhood seems to be underneath its own terrain. Whether it's at a house or the map view. I'm also having problems with rendering furniture and sims (as in, they either just don't render or they take a long time to do so). I'm awfully confused, does anyone have any ideas?
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 18, 03:48:55
Did it exist before FT?

Well I admit, I was about to say "Sure did," but then I read that the reward was $0. So I'll shut my trap and go back to my Guinness. Other than that, pet chance cards are supposed to happen.  Cheesy
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 05, 00:42:08
- both sims are in new careers.  (So there are no townies in those careers, as townies only get base game careers unless you make your own and put them in new careers before you townify them)
- both sims got a hobby-based chance card at work.

Unfortunately, neither of these are true for me (but I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this). Mine was a journalism career, which had already been used extensively in my other hoods. I am, however, playing in the Desiderata hood, which had not yet been used. And I haven't received a single hobby card yet.

The weirdest thing to me is that it was a teen NPC instead of an adult. And now he's stuck in some weird half-dead limbo.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 03, 04:39:31
I installed FT tonight and made a new male sim, Edward. Edward went to his journalism job and brought home a friend (I'd picked the aspiration power-up that makes Popularity sims bring home friends more often), and the friend was the teenage paperboy. I didn't really think much of it, for some reason (rum), and made the grand mistake of saving. Every time Edward would come home from work this paperboy would come too, so I decided to smite the boy, mostly because it was a creepy situation.

Now every time Edward comes home I am treated to the message saying he brought the paperboy home, and then the message that the paperboy has died on another lot and will return to the place of his death.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? Or is my dear Edward doomed to bring home a dead paperboy for the rest of his working life?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alternatives to Trillian? on: 2008 February 12, 23:07:57
I love Pidgin, but I stick with Trillian because I use the us-intl keyboard layout, and Pidgin doesn't handle it well at all. For the few weeks I used it, I had to stop using contractions and just spell everything out, because the apostrophe would attach itself to every letter.  Undecided

Every piece of trash that comes into my office has a male or female baby named Jaydn/Jayden or Jordan. Or Jayden Jordan. It's a travesty. An entire generation of Jayden Jordans.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: high texture detail, crappy clothes details on: 2007 November 18, 03:39:59
I had the same problem on my laptop - the Sim's face looked fine, the clothes were weird. Then the faces started going blurry too, if I used too much makeup or certain eyes. Then I was also starting to see artifacts in-game and eventually they showed up with other programs, like just web browsing. I just upgraded to a spiffy new desktop, and none of this happens. New video card?  Undecided
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: H&M Stuff Bug Reports on: 2007 June 08, 11:39:40
I had thought to change back the cracked .exe, but I'd forgotten entirely about my edited GraphicsRules file. Now it's stopping on objects.package. Replacing that with the one from the cd... And it worked! Hooray. Thanks everyone.
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: H&M Stuff Bug Reports on: 2007 June 07, 23:38:49
I guess this counts, even though I haven't even been able to play it yet: I can't install.
I'm using a downloaded H&M pack over a downloaded Seasons.. My Seasons CDs didn't read right and I don't want to buy H&M in case it sucks. I'm also using Celebrations.

I really don't want to reinstall Seasons if I can help it. Anybody else have this error, or a solution other than the sucky one provided?
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Visiting pets throwing an error on: 2007 June 04, 01:31:40
I've had Pets installed since it came out and had no problems (at least not with the pets themselves). I've had Seasons and all the other packs since they've been out as well, and have all my Awesome hacks updated. As far as I know, I do not have any non-Awesome hacks installed.

I was playing a new lot yesterday in a fairly unused neighbourhood (which was started empty). In playing this lot, I repeatedly got "Error: Reference to tree table entry that does not exist." anytime a pet would walk by. I would reset, and with the exception of some little dog it didn't repeat until the next animal. I have a pretty oversized amount of custom content, but nothing new except clothing, hair and makeup. This is pretty random.

Any ideas?  Undecided Also, I decided to torch a sim in the house with the incendiary bomb and one of the other sims caught fire, too.. I put her out and she went inside and the fire followed her. I've read of this on the boards but it hadn't happened until just last night.

In short, what the hell? I'll post an error log if you want to see it.

I've been having the same issue for as long as I can remember (which would extend to probably Uni or NL). I never knew there were ever options to irritate parents beyond drink-throwing! But if someone could find a way to enable those actions, it would be lots of fun.  Grin
14  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Puppy stuck in hands, then lost on: 2007 March 29, 16:44:41
Wouldn't it make more sense to report this on the DMA sims site?

Basically what jsalemi said is what I was thinking. Knowing their policies, and also wondering if it had nothing to do with their set at all and was rather a Maxian thing. Anyway, thanks for responding, and I've had my experience with a bordello and I think I'll give it up now. Smiley
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Puppy stuck in hands, then lost on: 2007 March 29, 04:51:50
I feel silly because I didn't take an error log, but I figure I'll at least see if this has happened to anybody else.

I was playing a lot with two dogs and their three puppies. This lot also has a woman and her child, and the DMA Bordello set. I would first assume the problem is either Maxian or Non-Awesome, naturally.

I decided to donate three of the puppies to the adoption pool. I did so, the police came and took the puppies away. I was playing with the family and the Bordello set, making some money, and had the two adult dogs go try for some more pups. While this was happening, all the visitors to the Bordello finally noticed the puppy and started playing around with him. Eventually one of the DMA NPCs picked him up, and then he was stuck in the NPC's hands. The NPC took a bath with the puppy in his hands and walked around with him for a while, but I hoped maybe he would put him down eventually. He didn't, of course, and then he went to change the channel on the television and the puppy turned into a remote control  Undecided and disappeared from the household list.

Since it happened with a custom NPC I definitely assume it was that, so really unless anyone else has any ideas for what it would have been, I can only use this thread as a suggestion to not use any such sets with puppies or kittens on the lot. If this happens again, I will definitely record the error log here. b

Caught me in the middle of an edit. Thanks so much Smiley
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Can't invite Plantsim to parties on: 2007 March 05, 20:26:25
Today I decided to finally let Cassandra Goth and Don Lothario get married, since I'd deleted all my saved games and everything else before I installed Seasons on a fresh new game. So I wanted to throw a wedding party, and I invited regular folk and a Plantsim I made yesterday. When everyone started to enter the lot, I kept getting an error. I can't remember the exact words, but it was something to the effect of "object must be human." I'm only using FFS and TwoJeffs hacks announced as compatible with Seasons. The error wouldn't go away no matter how many times I clicked reset or ignore, and I've conditioned myself not to click delete. Finally I just had to ctrl-alt-delete and close TS2.

Any ideas/anyone else had this issue? If we're not supposed to be able to, will there be a fix out so I *can* invite Plantsims to parties?  Undecided

Edit: Including part of the error log, displaying what I saw on the screen. If anyone wants the rest of the log, I'll attach it.
