And the family can send them some extra cash if they're doing well themselves.
How do you do that? Is it part of the standard game, or a hack? Because I'd always thought it would be awesome to be able to do--older families accrue so much money it's ridiculous! Maybe I missed it somehow?

Well, thankfully I'd saved not long before, so I exited without saving and came back to two twins yet again needing to pee. Pleasant, but at least I had them both! Damn nanny. And yeah, I have Uni, NL, AND the patches. I had another bug that was supposed to be solved with a patch a while back, too, where my Uni sim was told "It's time for you to get back to the real world!" during her first semester freshman final. Being as I have the patch installed I'm not sure why it did that to me-- maybe I should try reinstalling.

Okay. The nanny has gone psycho. I mean, other people have probably been having the issue with the nannies where they'll stay past the times they're supposed to, or even appear at 3am when both parents are home. I know *I've* been having those issues. I can't wait for a fix for them (or maybe there is one and I don't know about it?) but I could kinda deal with it, even though she was becoming a little stalkery with her random arrivals.
But NOW I gotta wonder WTF is her problem?! My sim with the tracked schedule came home from work, and the nanny didn't leave, so he dismissed her. She waved goodbye, PICKED UP HIS KID, and WALKED OFF WITH HIM. I mean straight off abducted. Got in the car and drove away with twin #2 in her arms. The kid's portrait then disappeared from the family pictures on the left of the screen.
Uh.
That's really not supposed to happen, right?! I have NEVER had a nanny walk off with a kid in her arms. I can't wait to get some sort of patch or hack to make them do what they're supposed to. Ugh.

Just to be clear... You don't need to leave the lot after using the option, but the game will force you out? So, save beforehand? And then when you re-enter the lot you won't need to do it again? Sorry to be silly, but I'd rather be certain than not.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Curious About Randomizing Sims+Children

I remember reading once upon a time that if you load up a lot, and the mother gives birth, you quit, and load up, and the mother gives birth sometime again, the children will be pretty much identical. I've had that happen a few times, and I also remember reading that before a birth one must go to CAS and randomize a few sims so the game .. uh, well, randomizes. *intelligent!* What I wanna know, though, is was this fixed with NL? Is there some sort of fix/hack somewhere, if not? I don't particularly want identical children, but exiting all the time to mix up the DNA is a bit annoying. So, I turn to you, wise Simmers! What do you know that I don't? Thank you thank you, in advance. You people are awesome, by the way (though one should be unsurprised to discover awesomeness in such an aptly titled place).

Hello guys Well i did try to force error, and that didn't work. Deleting and re-entering didn't work either. What DID work was removing the hacks from the downloads folder. Though I'm not sure which hack did it, I'd guess it's nobabyharassment. Anyway, I'm likely going to replace the hacks tomorrow. I'm so happy the poor boy grew up, though, man! Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I gotta say, honestly, this forum is very awesome (more awesome than me indeed!) and I love that the people are generally helpful and friendly. You all rock

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I did eye the 'force error' option but, being unsure what it did, I didn't want to play with it for fear of screwing up my game worse than it was. I'll try some of these suggestions tomorrow when I can turn on the game and hopefully they'll work-- if they do, I'll let you all know. Though one question: I did, once upon a time, delete a person with moveobjects on, and the person just... didn't come back. I'm not sure I tried to leave the lot, though, because it wanted me to save, of course, and I didn't want to do that without being sure I could get someone back-- so, just to verify, if you delete somebody, they'll be definitely there upon lot re-entry?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Baby unselectable, will not grow up :(

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me about this. The last time I played Sims, my female sim gave birth (got pregnant and gave birth all within one play session). The baby was born, she handed it over to her betrothed because she was way tired, and stepped out of the way. Well, her betrothed held it for a bit, but the birth was in the bathroom, and he got shooed out. Instead of taking the baby with him, he put it on the floor. Then it got weird... after the baby was deposited on the floor, no one else could select it. The arrow became grayed out when I hovered it over the infant. With moveobects on, I could transport the baby somewhere else, but in no other way was it recognized by the game. Options were still available when I clicked on the fridge or crib (put *baby in crib, or get bottle for *baby*), but when I selected these options they would disappear immediately from the queue and no one would make any movement for the poor infant. His diaper got soiled, and no one even seemed to recognize that a baby existed. So, I tried boolprop. I made the poor little guy happy. I tried to set his birthday, so he's due to grow up, but no one will take him to the cake. He just lies there on the floor. When I use boolprop to make him 'selectable' his green glowing arrow atop his head is at a weird angle (parallel to the floor, instead of perpendicular). I'm wondering if that's an indication of anything. Now, while writing this I've just thought that perhaps the nobabyharassment hack of JM's I have installed is the culprit. I can't test at the moment as my desktop computer is in a room where someone is asleep (or trying to be), but even with this hack installed, a baby in another lot grew up just fine with nothing like this... If anyone has any ideas, tests I could do, etc etc, please let me know. I'll try removing the hack tomorrow and see how that goes. Peace.

Wonderful; thank you all for your advice. I've deleted the thumbnails folder, so we'll see how that goes. The problematic part of it was that the toddler had JUST grown up and was neither in red nor in green, so without wants, I couldn't keep his aspiration meter up! It just started plunging into the red But hopefully now that'll all be fixed. Appreciated<3

Ah-hah. Is there information about this somewhere, or is it gossip flying around? Thanks, I was worried I'd messed up my game. ... Not that it isn't pretty messed up, what with that, but.. you know.

You guys seem to be a very intelligent bunch of people, so I thought I should ask here first before attempting the hell that is the official BBS. Um. Yes. So, today I started Sims2 (wherein I have NL installed) and for some reason, one of my sims is missing a want. Er, meaning, it's blank and blue, she's only got three wants. The toddler? Has no wants, no fears; they're all blank, blank, blank. Obviously something screwed up somehow. It just happened, and I removed the only changes I'd made since last startup (two hacks) but nothing helped. And idea wtf caused this, and what I can do to fix it? It's really frustrating; random shite like this has been happening a lot. Yesterday my gf and I went to play our university crew, and they just.. weren't.. there. The dorm where they lived was empty of all life. Buh? That's the second time for THAT particular oddity to happen, and if it happens again, I'ma gonna strangle someone. It's not like there's too many sims in the neighborhood or on campus, either. I just don't get it. Any help would be much appreciated.
