1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Weird glitch (with pictures!) on: 2006 August 02, 16:37:25
I haven't seen that glitch in a while.

Poor Twain!

Mostly I got it with the teddy bear before we had any Ep's  but I have seen tots stuck in parents as well.

Time to see if I still have the old snapshots of that.

For some off reason I thaught a patch fixed that.

Guess I don't get to play my game enough.

Alien grannies toys scare me! love my "toys" but teddy bears are not the sort of toys I would choose to put there!
2  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: All the icons from the game. Transparent PNG images. on: 2006 July 30, 16:58:46
Ah.. I'm orginizing the icons you extracted in to subfolders now so with any luck I'll find what I'm after but basicly I'm making a story about one of my pain in the neck sims who has died and remains a pain in the neck and falls in to needs desperation like wanting to use the bathroom or sleep and stuff like that.

Having these things is gonna make my story telling alot easier cause I was taking bubbles from other snapshots and editing them in to the ones I wanted them in.

Thanks for all the work you've done and all the help.
3  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: All the icons from the game. Transparent PNG images. on: 2006 July 30, 12:23:14
The asperation failure/desperation icons and some of the interist talk bubble things
and things like that.

Mostly they're thaught/ talk bubble things I'm after.

4  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: All the icons from the game. Transparent PNG images. on: 2006 July 29, 21:06:56
Thanks!

Now to see if I can dig out the things I think I'm after, LOL

I was tring to open Sims3d with the package opener thing under tools but it didn't wanna do it.
5  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: All the icons from the game. Transparent PNG images. on: 2006 July 29, 20:13:10
Great stuff but anyone wanna tell the idiot over here how to extract such images from the game?

I'd just like to have a bash at seeing what I can dig out of it.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / boolprop townie generators not working on: 2006 July 05, 08:59:36
Ever since OFB I can't make new townies for my game unless I do it one by one wich I honestly haven't time for.

Is there another way to generate mass random townies I don't know about?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 05, 08:55:23
I'd love to build to the edge of my lots. It would make it possible for me to build towns that look right.

Here most homes are what you might call town houses or row houses and our shopping districts are pretty much the same with buildings right up against one another. But I can't do that in the game wich sorta realy stinks!
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A RUMOUR about the next expansion pack on: 2006 April 06, 17:35:40
Well, if they HAD to make them, and they stuffed them in an expansion pack that had a lot of items, features, careers, and LTWs you REALLY wanted? How would they be tolerable?

I tolerate Uni with the help of a few hacks and a few shots of trquila before I play cause I truly hate alot of the crap the EP added to the game but it's the only way I could get a bunch of things I wanted in my game like the gym stuff full lenth wall mirrors, instriments ect....  But I still resent the fact that I have this load of crap on my drive to gain so little.
This si exactly why I beleave they'll pull the same stunt.
Think about how many people got NL for thr "driveable" cars ....
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A RUMOUR about the next expansion pack on: 2006 April 06, 11:03:51
I've probally said this a billion times but here I go once again.

Part of me wishes Maxis would give these people their freaking fur balls all ready and be  done with it.
We know that no matter what Maxis dose with them half of the people who have been so hot to get them will have screaming fits that it's not good enough and there will be the months of crying why oh why aren't the pets and assioated things better. So why not get that out of the way now and move on to better things.

I'd personally rather see them in a booster pack so they don't get jammed in to an EP with things I want so I can avoid getting stuck with them ( I got Uni for alot of the objects and HATE the EP in general) but somehow I see Maxis pulling one of their typical moves and putting pets in a pack with other things people have wanted from the start like spiral stair cases high dives pool slides and so many other non pet related things just as was done with UL.

I'll be glad when the Pets pack comes out so people can quit this Pets are next crap for once and for all!
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Inge where are thou? on: 2006 April 06, 10:48:19
I got that mail as well and it struck me odd...

Not that she owes us any explanation but I would like to know why she left like this.

It just seems like something you'ld do if you were fed up with all the crap in this community rather than how you'ld handle it if you just didn't have time to keep up with the stuff.Whatever her reasoning is it's sad to see her go.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Major Maxis Slipup on: 2006 March 19, 16:28:43

Now one big pet peeve of mine in this community is how so many people freak out about uploading their stuff to the Exchange and get all worked up about. I've even seen several throw a fit and completely remove their work because of it, which doesn't punish the person who uploaded it because they already have it, it punishes everyone else and is a completely immature obnoxious thing to do. People need to understand that if you upload something, ANYTHING to do with TS2, sooner or later somehow it will end up on the Exchange. It's just a fact. The Exchange is a black hole that sucks up any and all custom content. Also, who cares if someone uploads something there? It should be saving the creator bandwith and helping to more widely distribute the item. If credits are the issue then I have to ask, did the creator make the item for internet fame accolation and pats on the back or did they make it becauser they wanted to share it with others so they can get enjoyment out of it? It seems like for a lot of people in this community it's the former rather than the latter and there are a lot of divas with attitudes that get worked up over the smallest things (not that I don't myself sometimes lol).

Ahhh the quest for net fame in the Sims community.
It's sad isn't it when you see someone who thinks they are the end all be all of custom content creation and have a real royal hissie fit cause OM freaking God Some THEIF had the nerve to upload a sim wearing an outfit I made the texture for! And they didn't credit me for it in the discription of the Sim * What kind of ungreatful criminal would do such a thing?* Or some scum bad didn't credit me for making something you can kinda see in a screen shot in their story...
And the truly dumb thing is these are mostly people who only do skins made on meshes they didn't make and more often than not they're made using pictures of some designer clothing along the lines of Baby Phat or something some star wore to some awards show or something....

Sometimes you see it with other things and on occasion the hackers have a little tusstle over simular things being made but it's generally the unknown modders and creators who wanna be famous who you see pulling this nonsence while those with the real skills just make their things put them out there and let it be knowing that if it's on the net it will be shared.

Makes ya wanna smack them and tell them to grow up or something.
12  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Lot Sync Timer: All BlueSoups Suck Edition on: 2005 December 24, 03:18:17
You can set forwards or backwards the amount of days you need the lot to go.

To set up in the neighbourhood:

Buy and place the lot timer for each lot you want to keep track of (looks like an Elixir of Life bottle, located in the Misc/Misc section).
Click on bottle and choose "Install for family"
Set the day timer to the appropriate day (IE.  If it's the fifth day on the lot, select +5).

Set all families the same way.  Once all the families are set up, you can use the lot jumping feature to switch between them (it auto-saves the lot).  You can click on the bottle to see which family is on which day and who you need to play and for how long to make sure the aging is even for the neighbourhood.

I can't think of anything else now, I'll edit if I do.  Smiley

Thanks for posting this Blu
I was looking for a new clock cause I hadn't read beyond the first post till now.
Now th check out the awsomness!
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The nicest thing I just found out today (gee I feel stupid) on: 2005 December 24, 00:20:31
If you think you're stupid for not knowing that then I know some braindead simmers!
My poor sister had not a clue how to create her own neighborhood till 2 weeks ago.
My upstairs neighbor just came to realize that TheGoths aren't the only Sims fron the origional game in S2.
my co worker just discovered she can have sims "grow up" the day before their birthday with out having to get a cake.
My Brother inlaw was recently had those "weird fancy grave stones" explained to him by a 12 yearold.
And my mother inlaw just found out how to use elixer of life to keep her sims alive longer rather than end up sending them to a premature grave.

Gee The Sims 2 is really a family thing where you live  Wink

Yup, there are 19 simmers total in the family
My 5 kids and myself
My sister and her hubby
my mother in law
my dad
and a bunch of nieces and nephews

And even sicker most of my IRL friends play so my poor lover bug has no excape from people talking about  this "stupid game".
Poor guy.

15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Adding more RAM (probably belongs in RL) on: 2005 December 20, 16:33:17
Like I said this probably belongs in RL because I'm not a total computer guru. I managed to upgrade my video card and power supply thanks to KellinJar's help on the BBS (I think it was him?) and even plugged everything in and everything! Go me!  Grin

But now my dad (parents are separated) calls from Indiana and tells me he wants me to e-mail him a small list of things for Christmas.
And honestly, as strange as it sounds with me being a kid and all, I really can't think of much. Other than RAM. I've got only 256MB.

I just need to know what kind I need, etc. Where do I need to start, and what's a good cheap RAM, because they aren't the most wealthy people.

This would only belong in RL if you wanted to know where to download memory and had it in your head that RAM and drive space were one in the same.
The toughest part is figuring out wich sort of RAM you need for your board but I figure folks here have helped you figure out how to get that info.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Immortal Lot on: 2005 December 20, 16:24:49
Houses moved directly in to the bin from the uni still glitch on me at first.
But once you move a sim in then out again you can delete the origional copy from the bin and then move the one you've vacated in to the bin and you have a non buggie copy in the bin for forever ( or till you delete it from the bin)

Cool thing is that if you move Uni made community lots you have Unitownies and such on the lots when you visit them so you can have your Teens get friendly with professors in advance if you catch them. Or you can have a wider variety of Sims to date if you don't mind age gaps.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MATYville Real Estate on: 2005 December 20, 16:17:13
Well since the home I grew up in has turned Ghetto I might as well let a sim Me live in the slums.
Got any thing in the form of an efficency to fit me in to?
I'll make sim Me later tonight.

I do love that trailer....
Reminds me of the one that guy in the forest near my school lived in.
When he died they found out the old nut was some rich old something or another who snapped back in the 50's.
Dude had like half a mill in cash and all sorts of "treasures" in that tin can of his.

Now I kinda wanna make a sim of him and stick him in that trailer if I could possibly get it from you.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Immortal Lot on: 2005 December 20, 15:51:48
Just another one of the  nucences that go with Uni.
I love the little rental houses and packaged a bunch of them only to have this problem and even stranger when I moved old Mortimer in to one of them I got a pop up that he had class in an hour.

But so far moving some one in then back out again seems to work.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So, I set up this website... on: 2005 November 30, 16:44:24
Once you get DW configured to put the files on the server it's cake.
But we can work on it this weekend.

Look out PM on it's way.

Hey Blue,
Still need help?
Dreamweaver is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I can guide you through via IM if you like.
Do you have a layout template you would like to use Or shall I help you create your own?
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Movies (the game) on: 2005 November 25, 01:28:59
Man, I am seriously so anxious to play this game. I've been wanting it for a long time, and I'm sitting here dying knowing that it's in my moms closet.  Cheesy

Ha ha - that'll larn ya, ya nosy little sod!  Tongue  My son never found presents I hid, though I wouldn't have hidden them in the closet either. Now you''ll have to suffer till xmas, and pretend to be surprised and delighted.

The Movies sounds good though and I'm pretty sure I'll be buying it. I trust the opinions of most of the people on this site.

Giggles....
This is why my girlfriends and I store each others gifts.
If the kids do find things in our homes they're stunned when pressie time comes any way cause they found someone elses stuff.
I got the twins on that last year. Little twerps had snooped and were dumbfounded that the 2 MP3 players they had found in one of the bags weren't for them. Dumb thing was the boy had the nerve to ask me where they were and ratted himself out.
You should have seen my dads face as I looked at my son and said " take a second and think about it brainiack did you see any of the presents in those bags you snooped through? Was there even one thing from any of those bags here tonight? and are you dumb enough to not yet realize you're busted for being in my office and here by grounded for 2 weeks. And no phone computer or TV. And that goes for you too sneak 2"
I was sure my dad was gonna faint to see me actually ground my kids the same way he did me all those years ago.
Old man thinks their spoiled. Ha!
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: general weirdness - ideas? on: 2005 November 24, 23:06:53
I like the idea of party guest staying after the party clock runs out.
it actually annoyed me that they were like party over everyone rush the door at once before.
Generally I like just telling them bye bye goon home now when I get sick of them....

As for Sims that are braught home from work I've allways told them to get lost after a short while so I wouldn't know if that's changed in my game or not.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Veronaville--What's the Deal??? on: 2005 November 24, 22:39:47
So has anyone put up corrected versions of these sims anywhere that you can download or point new simmers to?

Yes I know it's fixable, but you have to be somewhat more techie than your average simmer and it's a hell of a waste of time for thousands of people to be all doing the same thing!

If it's not already out there I kind of like the idea of doing it and putting it up on the official site!  It should all have been fixed in the patch.  Fixing the gardens for uncuttable hedges while we are at it!

I think they would take such a thing off the official site if it ever showed up.
And if the Maxoids didn't the fan girls/ boys would pull out the flame throwers and insist there's nothing what o ever worng with any of these things.

And we know Maxis isn't in to fixing things till the little sheepies catch on to it that something is truly wrong and a hack can't be blamed.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hmmm...idle thought of mine... on: 2005 November 20, 19:45:28
I have no clue where he got it from but the boyfriend type person added an old fashioned electric chair to my game.
Some how it smells of MTS2 to me but it's pretty funny.
Still my personal fave is to have themuse that thing with the bucket of water when in near asperation failure when they tick me off.
I still see that video with Nervous Subject in my head when I do that to them.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's getting the x-mas pack? on: 2005 November 20, 19:35:12
