Oh, and I'll throw $50 into the pot.

Meh. Maybe I should get a medal for inciting such a give-fest.

OK, I should have been clearer: I pledge $50 toward the general war-chest.

Although, if you want a medal, why not have it in the form of an avatar? Here, I propose this:

To permit (submit to) the existence of the Dome is a folly I did not previously imagine you would trip over.

Hmm. And yet, not three posts ago:

only this year I want to keep my avatar and to stay out of the dome. Deal?

you seemed to be setting conditions for Pescado to, if not submit to, then at least support. Interesting.

My battle plan is a flexible beast

Indeed. Flexible like a bull in a china shop.

You know, you should be careful when you attempt to stir the shit; you might end up covered in it. Oh, wait - too late!

Oh, and I'll throw $50 into the pot.

I vote for Kofistan, and I'm happy to cough up some money to help pay for it when the time comes.

Well, I just found out that the Gay Sims Club has been hacked and deleted. I do not know if it can be restored. Someone changed the name to Gay Fags Club. I am deviststed. I put years of work into that site. And I am beyond upset. I'd love to know who did it. But I won't hold my breath. I'm just numb.

Understandable. If that happened to me, I'd not just be deviststed, I'd be tottimented. Utterly musherable.

However, I doubt even my deep dipsolation would drive me to double posting. Get a hold of yourself.

I kind of like Sims 3, but I miss a lot of things about 2, and 2 doesn't heat up the laptop to unacceptable levels.

Ha! I didn't even think about this. Yes, TS2 does not give my thighs third-degree burns. This is a good thing.  Cheesy

I have both installed, but I just don't care for TS3 much. The lack of neighbourhood customisation and the forced legacy-play puts me off. I did play it obsessively for a few weeks when it first came out, but I feel like I have done, if not everything there is to do, then everything I want to do. I just don't care enough about the game to jump through all kinds of hoops in order to collect all the different seeds or insects, or whatever.

I've started a new hood in TS2 and I'm falling back in love with it, I'll definitely stay with TS2 for the time being. If the inevitable mass of expansion packs for TS3 manage to flesh it out a little, I'll return for another go. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Miss the slow dance options where you could REALLY fondle your dance partner.   Wink

Yes! The groping, I miss the groping.

What IS up with the paper and crayons on the craft table but no interaction to draw?  I think they just totally missed that one by accident...

Nah. They missed it out by laziness, more like.

Where do you see me saying I've decided to play the Sims on a Windows partition?

I'm already in the process of setting up a windows partition in order to play Oblivion, so I might as well use it for the Sims, as well.

This is me saying I have decided to play Oblivion on my Windows partition. So far, I'm only asking for advice about the Sims. Good Lord.

The OP had already decided to run the frickin' game on a Windoze partition in his/her religious fervor.  That is why I answered the way I did.

My advice is practical as well as snotty.  If you're worried about what might happen to your mac, it's generally a good idea to look past your nose and poll more than 4 people.

OK. Whoa. No.

If this is me you're referring to, I'm not the OP. I just barged into someone else's thread asking my questions (sorry, Sudaki!). Also, I have never been religiously fervent in my life, thankyouverymuch.

I have not "made my mind up to play the frickin' game on a windoze partition", as you'd notice if you'd read my post. Read more, indeed. I was merely *asking questions* about playing on a windows partition. As for googling and polling more than four people, how do you know I didn't? I decided to ask my question here, as well as in other forums, because, well it's a Sims forum. Frequented by a few knowledgable mac-users.

Anyway, more importantly, I didn't want to post just to say thanks, but, Marhis and somnambulist,  your advice was very helpful. And professorbutters,  the BBS, helpful, eh? Who knew? Cheers!

And really... set aside a Bootcamp partition and play in Windows. Aspyr is just concentrated shit when it comes to EA ports)

Could anyone who has done this tell me if they're getting securom-related problems on the Mac side? I'm already in the process of setting up a windows partition in order to play Oblivion, so I might as well use it for the Sims, as well. I want those last expansion packs!
