1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nanny doesn't recognise FT baby items on: 2008 March 26, 09:41:33
First off Thank You Inge!

In my developed custom hood my current Nanny's aren't numbered 120, 121 and 122 those slots are holding normal townies instead. I don't want the townies that hold those numbers to be overwritten.  I don't have the 'stock nannies' but equal dumb randomly created nannies.  If I want to use your replacement Nannies, should I just place the template fix in my downloads and kill off the current stock of nannies so that new "smarter" ones will be spawned? or do I need to put your character files in my hood in some manner?  Changing file numbers on your download to correspond with my current nanny numbers doesn't sound like a good idea but since I'm on generation seven of my hood and don't want explosions I'd rather ask a stupid question than load a backup.

2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Romance Mod + Servos any effect? on: 2007 August 31, 00:10:40
I know that the Romance Mod affects how most sims view Zombies when it comes to attraction (which I dislike but I deal with) but does it also effect how they view servos?  I have a romance servo in my hood that no matter how I change his turn ons can not get more than one bolt with anyone and there's only three one bolters available to him.  The crystal ball only shows those three sims, the wishing well keeps spitting out non bolters and the gypsy gives him negative attraction elders whenever he pays 5k. He's a sag so there's no zodiac hits.

I do have one three bolt servo relationship but the bolts didn't register immediately upon meeting Betsy (servo) and Ben(human) had crushes on each other before they realized they were perfect for each other.  Even after falling in love with the various single bolt options they don't increase, he has about 20 best friends but non of them register as attractive.  I've had him check out every single romancer in the hood and all he does is shrug even if they should have good compatibility.

Primary thing is to take everything here with a grain of salt.  If you spend much time here you'll get the impression that turning on your game will make it explode.
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Deadly expensive hot tubs on: 2007 April 17, 05:33:19
Lightning can strike and kill sims in the love tub, at least on private lots.  I had a storm at my legacy greek house and two sims died from consecutive strikes in the tub.

Thank you Witch!  I really appreciate you taking the time to post this.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sagesims? on: 2007 March 23, 08:44:43
I'd love to have some of the sagesims stuff my elders have been lacking since it's been gone.
7  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: College Mathematics Class Problem on: 2006 December 01, 01:06:50
I had this problem yesterday with Melody Tinker, she was a brand new undeclared major freshman, when two of her dorm mates got the one hour call to go to class she never did, then at midnight she went to class and stayed until 5pm the next day with me dragging her bars back up.  I tried declaring major to biology but the only thing that did was let her come home from class at 11am rather than 5pm.  Moved her out and back in no change, deleted her no change.  If going to final resets it that's good news the only problem was that her final went on while she was at her midnight class, I got two popups telling me she missed her final but no end of the semester grade, and when she got home that day she was reset to a first semester freshman.  I used insim to give her back her A+ and reset her final for two hours then I moved the whole family out of the dorm and into a new one.  She was fine during her second semester.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Ghosts and Base Game on: 2006 November 18, 03:44:21
I'm working with a group that's putting together a base game hood. Trying to keep everything as clean as possible, but have heard conflicting reports regarding packaging ghosts on lots in base game.  I've read that any ghosts in packaged neighborhoods prior to UNI will have a likely hood of glitching and I've also read that as long as the ghosts don't know anyone other than those on their lots that there's no problem.  Anyone have experience with this?

If you've registered your games you can get the serial code from the EA site.  Login and look under mygames.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you kill pets? on: 2006 November 10, 11:00:52
If animal control takes them away they go to the adoption pool, you're not getting rid of them you're just torturing them for your own pleasure before you give them away.  If you want to get rid of them get rid of them then have a character you don't like adopt them and then delete the lot.  You'll end up with shredded files but they'll be gone.  Once SimPE is offical for pets you can clean it up.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you kill pets? on: 2006 November 10, 08:41:53
Just give it up for adoption, it's not like you have to keep it if you don't want it.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Old bug is back with puppies on: 2006 November 04, 19:35:49
When a townie or npc walks off the lot with a puppy it will pop back on the lot.  I tend to find mine in the far back corner but they are there.

As for sims leaving their babies, when you invite household you get a menu of who in the house you want to invite.  Don't invite the babies you can't interact with them so why do you want them there in the first place?
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stupid Party Behavior on: 2006 November 04, 19:29:53
I don't know what the peramiters are but at almost every party that I throw someone will get stinky and take a bath.  Generally I thinnk it's outgoing sims that do so but I'm not positive.  Makes for real fun when the cops shut down the party and great aunt martha walks outa the house naked.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Check this for me on: 2006 October 22, 05:32:24
I don't have antiredundancy installed unless it's piggybacked on another MATY hack as well as being stand alone.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets won't eat on: 2006 October 22, 05:20:38
They have a learned behavior to eat sim food and trash you can correct that behavior and have them eat pet food, but since they are trained NOT to eat pet food they will starve before doing so.  Just put a plate of food on the floor when they come eat scold them for eating sim food, eventually they will try the pet food at which point praise them for doing so.  Pretty soon they stop begging for scraps and will eat what is given to them.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Check this for me on: 2006 October 22, 03:58:01
There's been some issues with NPC's spawning that I don't think have been narrowed down to hacks/glitch's if this is a new hood that may not have all the proper NPC's loaded you may wish to use the NPC/Townie spawner to spawn an exterminator and a social worker.

I didn't have a repairman spawned in my current neighborhood and I was getting jumps when trying to call for one, after I spawned a handyman I've had no issues.

*edit* attaching error log in case an awesome one wants to take a look.

17  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Bathroom Controller: In Soviet Russia, Bathroom Uses You! on: 2006 October 21, 22:38:04
Do sims refuse to use the bathroom if their pets happen to be in it, or do animals not count for privacy purposes? I know I wouldn't bother trying to shoo a cat out of a bathroom, I'd just go. Tongue

They'll share with the pets.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Gardeners now ring doorbells after Pets installation. on: 2006 October 20, 06:14:00
My gardeners are working correctly you might have a hack conflict.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a way to copy custom portraits to place in new hood? on: 2006 October 17, 02:15:10
You could use Inge's objects stay at move out shurb to hold the paintings on a lot.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How close may I be to impending doom? on: 2006 September 18, 05:16:50
Sims wants and fears are based not just on aspiration but also on personality.  Neat sims always want to earn cleaning points, outgoing sims always want to make friends, and Mean sims love to pull pranks.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Getting badbirths, no idea why. Anyone willing to look at the error log for me? on: 2006 March 29, 08:11:50
Thank You Syberpunk!

I didn't think I had any new hacks showing up on my sp2ci which I had previously checked.  I ended up removing an old file AbductionPregnancy-Animations.pkg which I know I've had for a long time I'm just not sure what it was originally attached to.  I also removed some custom skins from a site that I wasn't familar with and between the two the birth problem seems to be fixed.   Most likely it was the old file, but like I said I know I've had it for a long time.  I'll replace the skins later to test them but I doubt they were the problem.
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Getting badbirths, no idea why. Anyone willing to look at the error log for me? on: 2006 March 29, 07:23:39
In my legacy neighborhood I've been getting bad births for the last few days.  It started after I had a problem with a joined union and I installed same sex marriage and pregnancy for all.  I've since removed those two but I'm still getting the bad births, so I don't believe that the problems are related to those.  I downloaded clothing, hair and some skins at about the same time that the bad births began but none of the sims that are having problems are using any of my new downloads.  I tried installing the badbirth fix but it didn't help with this problem, I have been able to fix the births by working around them with insim to delete mother and baby boy/girl then restoring family and forcing a pregnancy transistion (get pregnant abort pregnancy) and naming baby.  I've had the problem in three seperate houses now and it's irritating to say the least.

23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Did the new patch rebreak final exams? on: 2006 February 12, 04:05:17
They did change something in the code with the new patch. I'm looking now to see if they screwed something up.

Edit: Do you have my 'move off the portal' hack installed?

I don't have it installed at the moment: I had a vampire in the house a few gens back and move off the portal keeps them in the sun a bit too long.  I don't think there was anyone in the way of the portal though, I micro manage a ton and I keep a pretty close eye on them when they are leaving for class, finals especially.  I know that they went to their finals and that they came back on time and had the ++ as if they had been to class.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: For those BBS-phobics....there's a new patch out. on: 2006 February 11, 13:10:54
The patch seems to have reintroduced the uni final exam bug that was previously fixed.  Talking with a couple of people on the maxis and other forums I'm not the only one having issues.

I posted details about the new improved final exam bug Here
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Did the new patch rebreak final exams? on: 2006 February 10, 21:14:53
It seems that the 2nd EP Patch has broken final exams, where the 1st one fixed them.  Any one else having problems?

Not everything about the glitch (bug?) has been pinned down yet.  I've only had it happen about 5 times, others have reported it happening to a couple of times to them as well.  A student will go to their final exam and will stay the entire length of time that they are supposed to.  Upon return home they will have the ++ symbol over their heads but you get a pop up saying ohoh so and so missed their final exam, don't make a habit of it and the student recieves a grade deduction for missing the final.  It is not identical to the original final exam bug that would send your student through a loop of returning from final early, but a whole new scary glitch.

For me this is happening:

At my legacy greek house, this is the primary residence I am playing at UNI atm.  I did have a few students at a dorm go through a semester or two in a new dorm and it didn't happen the dorm numbers are too small for me to judge however.  Only 8 exams total were taken there while I had over 30 final exams at the greek house last night.  Of that 30 I had it happen 5 times.

It never happened to the same sim twice.  Each sim in the household went to multiple final exams last night.  I had a total of 12 sims rotate through the greek house taking exams while there.  Some graduated and were replaced while waiting for my heiress to complete.

It happened to one last semester senior that graduated sucessfully anyway.  The rest were either second semester freshmen or third semester sophomores.

I did not restart the game between glitches but I did reload the house and the neighborhood.  The problems happened during three seperate reloads and may have been the first final exams after reload (I'm trying to think about this one I can't remember exactly).

All finals happened at night but most of my finals are happening at night in this house.

The greek house is relatively old.  It's a sixth generation greek house that has seen about 50 students pass through it over the generations.  The lot and it's photo files are probably pretty congested.

I culled my downloads file after installing patch, removed most of the hacks that were remaining.  I didn't want any conflicting hacks (Monday Morning Critical Fix ect..).  I have very few hacks atm since I am doing a serious legacy attempt, I don't think I have any hacks that aren't activated manually or object based (non that show up on clean installer).  For manually activated hacks I have triplets and quads installed.  And for Item based I have insim, bottomless bottle and the lot debugger object.
