Being a nothing works out well for me, most of the time :)

I generally get my family of 16...

dang, I'da been bored with all that scheduling faster than it took you to type it. And this explains why I'm not playing a family of 16 :)

Townie and dormie aspirational level *DO* change, but since you can't see what their wants are, and they don't attempt to actually satisfy them, most of the time their wants are never met. While they don't have decay, all that repeatedly peeing themselves and passing out eventually drives them into the red.

I imagine taking a bunch of townies and/or dormies on dates and checking out their wants and filling them is improving this situation somewhat? I've even been known to help them get a skill point or something if that's what's in their meter.

I downloaded these but have been building, not playing so haven't played with 'em yet. I'm glad to hear they work well and are fun :)

eep - no tombstone? I guess the only reason to do that is to *really* want them to go away.

It will also keep your sim in bed until the desired wake time even if your sim's energy bar is full.

Other'n vampires, why would you want to do that? I feel about my sims sleeping, about the same way I do about sleep for myself - it's a huge waste of time so don't do any more of it than necessary and get out of bed and get to work, lazy things Smiley

I always queue up stuff for them to do when they get up... setting it right after they go to bed, so they'll get up and get started (and be where I can see them and NOT start making the bed or something dumb), and occasionally they go to sleep by themselves, and my queue wakes them up - which is annoying. Go back to bed and reset the list... bleh :p

But I've never wanted them NOT to get up. 'cept for maybe kids whose sleep schedule is off for school and even then... I'd just rather make them dance or something that makes them tired fast.
831  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A non-Sims Question. Can anyone explain this.... on: 2005 November 27, 04:24:09
Does your recovery program or check disk defrag as well? That'd give you disk space alla sudden.
832  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: get that dormie out of my bed! on: 2005 November 27, 00:32:17
What do you want to bet there are no beds in dormies rooms in lots of people's games? ;) (mine included).

Though it might just be that the beds in the playable sims rooms are lots nicer.
833  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I can't believe I did that... *Gape* on: 2005 November 26, 18:09:01
He is a beauty. Maybe you'll get the "what randomization" thing and the sibling will be just like the brother. <crosses fingers for you> That sounds like the kind of thing I'd do. I sorry.
834  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Will you morons just stay out of her coffin?? on: 2005 November 26, 17:45:09
Inge's doors are nicer. You might find one that takes a key that doesn't look bad for your dungeons (tho I don't remember any iron gates - does she have these all working with Numenor's? There's some recolors of those that would work for that.) I woulda used hers myself but I didn't have them yet :) and I still don't have quite all of them and don't remember how it all works - blame it on age, I gotta have something.
835  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: phone jumping bug on: 2005 November 26, 16:07:08
I thought the Danny's DMA things weren't global hacks. If they're object-based, they shouldn't be interferring, yes? Or is this something else?
836  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightmare scenarios. on: 2005 November 26, 14:05:10
These stories just remind me of my RL nightmare. <doesn't bore ya'll with long true off-topic dealeo, but it was as bad as anything the sims can come up with, really>

Ah for the life of a sim ;)
837  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who or what is MATY? on: 2005 November 26, 13:58:53
The idea is that you think of things that are associated with the number 3 until you find the one that starts with the letters BM. I guess it really should be written like this:

3 = B M (S H T R)

24 = H in a D

That one might be easier to give you the idea :)

Me, I drink so much coffee I might as well be piping it in intravenously. Tea is fine for a break now and then, but it's not coffee.

PS: Added something more that might help. I wish I had a boss like that :) And all that coffee explains why I need so many BRBs ;)
838  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who or what is MATY? on: 2005 November 26, 13:46:05
<laugh> sounds like a pretty cool boss? also sounds like a games magazine game - those are fun. You know?

3=bm

like that? or 2BON2B like that, really.
839  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who or what is MATY? on: 2005 November 26, 13:30:13
Yup BlueSoup. I think BRB does mean Be Right Back, but the idea is if you're gonna be right back, it's generally cuz you need a bathroom break - noone leaves the computer for much of anything else.

I always hate to get stuck asking what they mean. I'd rather spend forever trying to figure it out - sooner or later someone says or something. A friend and I would make them up to stump each other. There were rules. It had to be some sort of phrase we used, not just any made-up string of letters, but we'd end up signing off with long long ridiculous strings of letters. Was fun.
840  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who or what is MATY? on: 2005 November 26, 06:40:45
Not only am I bright like that, but nothing gets by me.

It's SOP for my MOS.

points for MOS then.

AFAIK, BFBVFS is pretty MATY limited.

The fancy way of saying AFK is BRB which we always translated BathRoom Break and around here should be something like PB or PIMPB or POMK or something...

So, military connections JM?
843  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who or what is MATY? on: 2005 November 26, 04:49:35
I use IIRC = If I Recall Correctly a lot... that one throws people sometimes.

MYL = Made You Laugh, is my favorite, cuz I have no sense of humor (so I've been told) so don't make people laugh too often :)

You may want to try the Sleep Clock, it will suppress overly-easy wakefulness until the designated waking hour. The bedtime functionality is currently inoperable for vampires, but the next version will properly support it. Oh, yeah, and it 'll send them to their coffins right before daylight and keep them there. Or, if you want, send them there and keep them there indefinitely, so they can sleep for eons before awakening.

oooh, that's sounding great. I'm looking forward to it Smiley Maybe I'll put the coffins back in the basement and let them sleep through several generations and wake up and infect their descendants or something. Could be a fun storyline.

(No offense to Monique. I use and like her computer, but I trust JMs hacks more, especially for fixing the annoyances.)

PS - Mine were willing enough to go sleep in their own beds if the Myne door is in the way (ugly, but I just used the regular Maxis one). I probably did queue it up for them (I micromanage) but they didn't spend much time whining about it.
845  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Will you morons just stay out of her coffin?? on: 2005 November 26, 02:41:38
I used a Myne door, which worked fine. No clue why the dang coffin is so attractive - even to the point of everyone in the house trekking all the way down to the basement of the House of Fallen Trees (or whatever it is) if I didn't catch them fast enough... I just got rid of those coffins and moved the vampires upstairs as well - atmosphere is nice and all, but...

My other problem was *keeping* the actual vampires in the blamed coffin. They'll jump up at any excuse, and it's downright annoying. Personally, I think they should act like real vampires - head for their coffins top of the list at the first hint of daylight and basically fall down dead in them, incapable of rising before the sun goes down unless they're masters or something. Getting up because the phone rang is, imo, breaking the genre :p

Hey Pegasys, hope you're planning to share this retirement home.

Yes please! Pretty, please... with strawberries and whipped cream Smiley

Wonderful pictures! What a lovely wedding.

I think I got one of those lots - now I'll have to go back for the other and see if I can do as well with them as you do :)

As for lights, tsr has some strings of white lights that would work well on trees (like Christmas light strings, only white). I don't know what the polycount is on them. Also move objects might like you place the "star" like wall lights from MTS2 on trees - those would like nice and I'm pretty sure they have reasonable polycounts (at least, I've actually used those and they didn't kill my game).

I realize it's an innacurate way to go about it, (if I didn't get occasional pms asking me how I got mine, I would forget which glitch pic I'd used) but I don't know what anyone really looks like and it doesn't matter, so...

What people want to be, how they envision themselves, how they portray themselves, is more interesting than what they actually are.
849  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Long as we're doing download sites on: 2005 November 25, 15:35:03
I have to admit, a subscription to TSR is a MUCH better value than that damn holiday pack. Rather than the pay sites driving Maxis, I think Maxis is driving us to pay sites - get something worthwhile for the money :p <tongue firmly in cheek>
850  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The whole adopting children business. on: 2005 November 25, 15:25:24
When I was using testing cheats to get my same gender sim pregnant, they still spun up wants for the baby. They even spun a "have a baby" want on *top* of the adoption one they already had (eventually I let them adopt too - at that point, I didn't know I needed a hack to fix it). One was family, and I don't remember what the other was. Finance maybe. But then, sometimes my heterosexual parents aren't interested in their natural-born (or adopted) kids either. They did tend to lecture when he needed a diaper change tho (poor kid) and have "change diapers" in their fears. Dumb parents. One of them was the George MacCarthy (or whatever his name is) townie and the other was a CAS sim and the baby was pretty cute - not great, I can't really make good sims, but decent-looking.
