Grah was deserted, so here are two FSE:s in one rar-file. I had odd things happen when I enabled the new command, and then shortly after used forcemovein - the homelessfamily moved in to the house I was playing, and THAT family was evicted. I got the FSE:s when trying to switch between families. The force-moved-in family was not possible to switch to, at all.

ingeli - You have to do forcemovein from the edit town menu. If you do it from the main game you will force out your family and move the homeless in there. I learned that the hard way.

Your supercomputer allowed me to set a family relationship that the debug commands would not. You and Buzzler have allowed me to pollinate my neighborhood to replace the dying elders. Now this will allow me to do even more evil good in my game. I think you read my mind earlier today when I was wishing for this.
78  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The Birth Control Mirror on: 2009 August 30, 11:12:56
I've recently installed this and it is helping so much. My hood has been aging up, partly due to my having a heartbreaker sim this generation. I think he caused too many broken hearts so there are a bunch of single sims who are not romancing.
I had 124 sims, and 51 are elders. There were about 25 each ya and adult, rest kids. In order to get a jump on the next generation, I have been running around when ASM gives me a romance notice and using Twallan's pollinator on a victim. This makes it easier to do that. I bumped my BF up to about 2 right now, it should come down as the kids age up.
I'll let you know how the hood turns out.

Or, as orange is trying to say nicely, do a fucking search as this has been addressed in this very forum.

Capital letters and punctuation are required in this post. We are bored with you already.
i am bored with you too
its a free country i type as i please thank you very much

This is not a free country. This is MATY. Learn how to capitalize and punctuate or go the fuck away.
81  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Ok, I'm probably a horrible searcher but... on: 2009 August 25, 00:15:23
Yep, you're a horrible searcher.

You have three choices:
1 - ctrl-shift-c to open command window, type "setconfig <option> true" to set it up (use "showconfig" to get the exact names of what you want to change).
2 - click the link for the downloadable config manager on the AM page, make your adjustments, download and put in your mods folder
3 - learn to search better

Actually, you have 2 choices. 3 is not optional.

That's all that twallan's Kinsey scale shows - how many sims have positive values for attraction. The vast majority will be 0 or 4 due to the +2/-1 that occurs with each interaction. I have maybe 3 sims that I have had flirt with both sexes and they have scores of either 1 or 3 as they have positive values for attraction to both sexes.
83  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: O why won't the marriage option show up? on: 2009 August 22, 09:27:16
I've made them do romantic options forever, the marriage option just won't come up, they are already going steady, 2 adults
Is there a marriage cheat?
Thanks

If you have testing cheats enabled and debug commands enabled (I have them on all the time, set by config in AM) you can cheat a marriage. I have only had this happen when the house is at 8 and the game won't let me add in a new sim, even though I have overstuffed houses allowed. This is what I do:

- Get to the point where I can do the propose going steady interaction
- Ctrl-shift-click on the target sim and set relationship to fiancee (or if you want to skip the wedding step, select spouse).
- When I decide that it's time for them to get married, I shift-click on the target sim and add to household
- Marry will come up romance options as normal
84  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How can I graduate an adult sim from High School? on: 2009 August 20, 04:40:48
Here's how I would do the workaround:
- Find the hidden traits. The fastest way to do that would be using Twallan's supercomputer, list sim by traits, figure out what hidden traits there are. I don't know of any for paperboy/girl. I found all the rockers, burglars and more in town this way. You may have to switch to another house to get her to show up in the list.
- Go to editsim, change the age back to teen
- Back in game, use CTRL-SHIFT-click to age up to YA
- Use CTRL-SHIFT-click to adjust regular traits
- Use addtrait to add any missing hidden traits

Again, I have not seen any hidden traits associated with paperboys/girls. This should work with any other hidden traits. Good luck!

Have the driver mark anyone with the Loser trait unworthy of a partner and then you will have real life.

Most of the losers I've met in my life - and as I live in Vegas, I have met many - are partnered. Losers should be partnered with Hopeless Romantics (so the HR can spend all his/her time trying to "fix" the Loser), Unlucky or other Losers. Now THAT would emulate life.
86  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 20, 01:22:26
So I was using the "rename" cheat the other day, but it did still seem to care about the length. For instance, if I wanted to name my sim "Marie Antoinette of France," the game would see the first two words as too long for the name, so just assign Marie as the first name and Antoinette as the last, where my goal was Marie Antoinette for the first name and of France as the surname.

Could someone please help me with this one? It appears on the download thread that Pescado named one of his sims "Milhouse Trixibelle Saltf***er" and it showed up fine, so am I doing something wrong?

Thanks so much for your help! Cheesy

I haven't gotten the "rename" function to give more than 2 names. If you have Twallan's supercomputer (see pudding factory), there is a rename option where you can choose the first and last names separately.
87  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The NRaas Orienter on: 2009 August 19, 18:50:36
There's a button for that? I've just been going into buy mode to center my camera view back on the house, since I can't seem to remember where my sims live half the time, lol.
Look to the right of the camera controls, there is a small house icon. That took me a good month of game play to find.
88  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The NRaas Orienter on: 2009 August 19, 14:05:57
My one gay sim showed as +176 for male and -88 for female. He has done no romantic opposite-sex interactions. I'm wondering why the male was exactly twice the female number.

In other NRaas news, I love the option on the computer to select the orientation so I can just invite the ones over I want, or just the ones I want to change around a bit. Combining these two objects has made my neighborhood much more diverse.
89  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Fighting the Aging Process! on: 2009 August 17, 09:32:43
I reset a sim to young adult when she was going to age to elder in two days after my sim married her.  They were supposed to have tons of kids, so I risked an editsim age change.  It worked fine and so far no issues.
In TS3 females can get pregnant up to the last day of adulthood. You could have just kept her pregnant all the time, just knock her up the same day she gives birth. Get Twallan's pollinator and you can just do it with a click if you want. I kept one sim at day 0 to aging for about 5 pregnancies that way.
90  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: The Wrath of Pescado? on: 2009 August 17, 09:28:06
My simicide MO is very boring, I just drag their Hunger bar all the way down, so almost all my ghosts are purple.

Enable debug commands, ctrl-shift-click on the desired sim and select "die by" (might be "kill by" but the command makes sense). Or use Twallan's supercomputer in the pudding factory as it has a "kill sim" interaction.
91  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 17, 08:35:36
<snip>
Really loving the features of ASM though!  I'd rather live with this than have to play vanilla, but I'm hoping someone else has this problem or knows what to do about it.

This is EAxian in nature - poor genetic mixing. I'm on the 5th generation of one family. I've married in handymen, maids, firemen, townies and more. Every single female looks the same, just with different hair colors. I have some more variation in the males. I have a portrait of each person and I have to do the "view" action to tell who it is because they all look so alike.
92  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Fighting the Aging Process! on: 2009 August 17, 01:53:22
I've changed about 5 sims' ages when IS set up an elder with a YA. I reset the elders to dult. No issues have occurred so far. Use "editsim <sim name>"
93  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Traits Cheat Sheet - Work in Progress on: 2009 August 16, 06:58:36
One thing I haven't seen is how traits map to LTW. It would be especially useful to folks who do legacy challenges in which you have to achieve every LTW.  It would probably be hard to do b/c some portion of mapping does appear to have a random element.  Then again, you can experiment ad nauseum in CAS to figure it out.

I saw a list like this over at boolprop. As you said, there is a random element. I know that some of the listed LTWs and associated traits are not complete. I may try to do my own mapping or get under the hood to see if there is something that I can find in the XML.
I've been randomizing my traits and I've had options to get most, if not all, LTWs by the 5th generation. I'm averaging about 5-6 kids per generation. Snob is good to get the money wishes, especially gold digger, which is the only time I have had that come up.
94  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Traits that matter on: 2009 August 14, 23:12:24
How high does their mood have to be for this to happen? I generally ignore my sim's moods, unless they get close to "whine" level.
If you are "in the bubble" - the part above the choke point - then you skill faster. Aaroc did a study of this you can find elsewhere in Facts and Stategery.

The trait I have come to hate is Snob. I have 3 snobs in this current family (rolling for traits, no rerolls, ugh) and I had to kill one off because all the constant "gussy up" and "check self out" interactions slowed down her skilling. It would be 4 in the afternoon before she would allow SC to get her ass to the easel to paint. The next 2 snobs are toddlers, and they will get booted or killed as soon as I get fed up with them. I have to say the Neurotic is hands-down the best if you want to push a sim thru a career using "work hard."
95  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Anyone know of a Mod to off your sims? on: 2009 August 13, 18:46:24
I'm fond of the good old: "Get in the pool!" - * delete pool ladder* But I haven't tried that out in TS3. I think i've spotted sims climbing out of the sides of pools though, which would bone that approach.

You probably could go with the good old room with no door and 50 thousand cheap fireplaces approach perhaps?

Pools definitely don't kill in TS3 - the Sims can climb out on the sides. Drag the energy bar to zero while in the pool, maybe?
I just killed off an annoying Sim by dragging her food bar to zero. Instant death. I got sick of her doing the "gussy up" and "check self out" when I told her to paint. Plus, I needed the bed.
96  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Anyone know of a Mod to off your sims? on: 2009 August 11, 03:42:46
With your "Hall of Ancestors" tip do you have to have Awesome mod or Indie Stone in order for the urn under portrait trick to work?
Nah, it's a simple door that you can lock in different ways. The "hall of ancestors" is just a funny way for me to make a room to serve 2 functions - store portraits and store urns. The lockable door just allows me to keep the ghosts in there without having to make a door in build mode every time I want to send someone in to mourn or view paintings or something.
97  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Anyone know of a Mod to off your sims? on: 2009 August 10, 10:27:26
I find starvation ghosts to be annoying, because they raid your household's fridge. I don't know about you, but I have my sims precook meals, so that they can eat a high-quality meal before work or school, thus eliminating the need to cook food when time is short. I don't need hungry ghosts eating up all the leftovers before my living sims can get to them. I do, however, love the Ctrl+Shift+Click deaths. Because a creepy Victorian mansion just isn't the same without ghosts...

There's a lockable door over at MTS. Use that door to the kitchen and the ghosts won't be able to go there. Or do what I'm in the process of doing - create a "hall of ancestors". Make a room for the ghosts and put their portrait on the wall with the urn on a table underneath it. Make sure the only entrance to the room is a lockable door. It keeps the ghosts on the property, allows me to fulfill "see a ghost" want easily, and yet keeps the ghosts contained. I used to lock them in a fenced-in area with a foosball table for company.
98  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Terminology question: what is "NPC" in this case? on: 2009 August 09, 13:44:35
(I can't just quickly test it to see for myself -- I'm on OS X, so I'm very much under the impression that any attempt to install the current patch would result in a lenghty uninstall/reinstall/banging head on keyboard procedure).

I'm on OSX and running 1.4 with AM - no problem. I had to use enablescripterror before, and remove it from this config.
99  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: 1.4 patch is now out on: 2009 August 08, 04:21:48
Patched this AM. Played about 3 hours, no problems. On a Mac with digital download so I never patched to 1.3.
100  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: 1.4 patch is now out on: 2009 August 07, 10:52:41
I agree with the idea that TS3 was broken upon release. I can't compare to TS2 as I never played that one.

First problem -  I was at Best Buy getting some cables or something and they had it at the register. I failed my saving throw and bought it. The DVD would not read in my computer. Went online and found a bunch of the same complaints. I returned the disk and bought the digital download version. This was a major complaint for the release.

Second problem - Story mode as written didn't work and EAxis admitted it. Once it was on it was always on with no way to turn it off. I lost several friends to move out. I found out about MATY from the BBS, downloaded AwesomeMod, and have never looked back. Without AM I would have stopped playing the game within about a week or so.

Third problem - (alright, not a release issue, just an EAxis one) - I could not update to 1.3 due to the Mac digital download not being available. So, I'm running 1.2 and old AM. When I get home I'll get to see if I can update to 1.4.
