76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Do you visit the hobby lots? Are they useful? on: 2008 July 06, 21:35:20
Is this one of those things where you try them out a couple of times, then never go back?

Yup.  And not even all of them, I think I tried two and thought they were stupid.  I agree with Lord Darcy, I have the comm-skilling hack so I really don't need all that mess.  I can create my own hobby lots.

Thanks to everyone who is contributing.  I am not even sure I know what is in all of these sets, but just getting them makes me feel like I am giving EAxis a big kick in the ass.   Tongue
This site may have a reputation of being a bunch of hard asses but it's nice to see everyone come together like this.  Sorry for the sap lol.

I have actually started to just get rid of computers in my sim's houses because of things like this.  I will see that they are giving the financial consulting and leave them to it, just to find them in the red a bit later because God forbid they actually worry about themselves then some stranger.  Same with all the musical instruments and the train set.  I am sure there are more, I just can't remember.  My sims have been very suicidal since FT.

Infinite sims is reporting that EA put out a patch that fixes get this -- 34 bugs!  However, it is not on the main site, has anyone heard anything about it?  I really can't believe that they got that out so fast!

My sims are doing this really strange thing when their hunger is low.  One sim in particular would relax on a bed for a second, jump up and think that he is hungry, go view some art around the room, and then hop back on the bed-just to do it all again.  I put it on the fastest speed and he did it over and over again for hours.  Meanwhile his hunger dropped into the red so I instructed him to eat.  His pregnant wife seems to be able to take care of herself on her own, but not him.  I have had this happen on other lots too.  Anyone else?

One of my legacy heirs just died because of the needs not being recognized.  Of course his mother lost to the grim reaper as well.  My sims will constantly think about food, but for shits and giggles, I let one sim make her own choice, and ended up cancelling out a ton of queues to play red hands, the stupid punching game, and all those other stupid things my sims seem to be doing a lot more often.  Her hunger was pretty much in the red when she decided to go to bed instead.  She didn't die but her brother did because they let it get all the way down to like 10 percent left.  If this is how it is going to be til the patch, my sims are going to be dropping like flies!

And has anyone noticed an increase in their sim's desires to play red hands, rock paper scissors, etc?  They barely do anything else anymore!

I have been trying to send each couple on vacation so that I can get a romantic picture of them for someone back at the house to paint.  Then I hang it somewhere in the house, mainly the heir's bedroom.  Don't you get a point for painting a picture of each heir and their spouse before they die?  This is my bv updated version since he hasn't added any rules, I barely do anything differently.
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Random game crashes. on: 2008 February 14, 00:02:04
I have been having random crashes as well, just lately.  The last one happened when a birthday occured and it just got stuck in a sound loop and crashed.  Sometimes it is when I go to save, because I am aware that it happens more often now, I save often.  It sucks because I have to keep replaying parts of my legacy.  I also have an ATI card- 1650 pro w/512mb of memory and 3 gigs of ram.  For me it really seems to be since installing BV, or actually maybe more TSS.

He showed up on one of my residential lots the other day.  I didn't notice he was there until boolprop told me there was an error with him doing something out of the world.  Very confusing, but I found him walking around outside the house, just making weird noises and pacing.  I think he finally left once the sun came up, but he is very stalkerish.
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and no CD? on: 2007 October 09, 02:01:17
Thanks.  Last dumbass question- if I get the no-cd crack, can that run off of what I already have on my comp or do I have to reinstall all of the games?
86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV and no CD? on: 2007 October 09, 00:22:22
I used Moron's version of creating an image.  It worked fine and I got the game to run.  However, secuROM is back in the registry ever time I start the game.  Does this mean that this is not a good way to keep that off my computer and the only way is to get a no-cd crack?
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 08, 23:22:33
Question with the creating an image of my disc and running it from there.  This will still work with JM's hacks right?  i am assuming it will but just wanted to check.
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 October 08, 20:24:48
Something interesting.  I have vista, and two admin accounts.  One for the usual high visual fun stuff and one for the sims 2.

When I went to look for secuROM, I couldn't find it on the first one, which is odd because that is where I install the games due to the fact that I am mainly on it.  Just for shits and giggles I looked under the sims 2 account today, and there is secuROM in my registry.  For some reason it can't be found in the registry on my main account, but it is in the registry on my sims account.  Thought I was in the clear, now it is time to get that shit off.
