76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Order of installation on: 2006 September 09, 13:40:25
Good luck Inge, will you let us know your findings as I have wondered about that too?

I'm packing off all my old Sims1 games to my nephews along with a note telling them in which order to install them.  I remember all too clearly the havoc it caused me when I didn't load them in the correct order.
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Haunted Community Graveyards? on: 2006 September 08, 13:03:05
When I last played Pleasantville (an age ago), I wanted Morty Goth to see a ghost, however, they just floated around despite me placing him in different positions where they would have to cross his path.  I tried for three nights (Sim nights that is) and eventually gave up.

Am I missing something?
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Not Sims related, but a rant, and help needed. Google toolbar? on: 2006 September 07, 11:21:01
I had the google toolbar & the yahoo one - together, nightmare as I don't even remember downloading them, must have been late at night when I wasn't paying much attention.  It was such a hassle allowing pop-ups from certain sites as I had to click on them both, drove me nuts.

Glad you got it sorted.
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Website for Male Sim Clothes? on: 2006 September 06, 18:05:05
I found a site ages ago called White Hibiscus that had some really nice trunks - similar to the teens long ones.  I just tried the old link from my favourites but it just went to a page saying Coming soon Winter & Fall.  You coud try and google it?
80  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CONFESS! How many of you pay for downloads? on: 2006 March 20, 09:58:06
I don't subscribe to any sites (except here of course  Wink).  I have donated to Holy Simoly (my first donation ever).  I thanked them for the lovely things they created & you know what those guys did?  Flem & Shtinky actually sent me their donation pack free, just because they liked my comments.  How could I not support them after that!  Because of their kindness I felt it only right to donate.

There are some great people in this community Flem & Shtinky being two of them.
81  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Fun pack at *GRASPS* $20.00! on: 2006 March 18, 10:03:37

What holiday pack stuff screw up ur game? I only have one problem with it. The santa. Other than that, everything else is ok. No major bugs reported regarding that holiday pack either.
A friend of mine even claims his santa is functioning PERFECTLY. Having dinners with the family instead of breaking toilets. I dunno if I believe him though.

I got blank want icons after loading it, really pee'd me off at the time but TJ's hack the College Clock Adjuster sorted this problem out in the end.  I do remember a post (ahem.. on the BBS) about the reindeer being bugged but I found no solid evidence of this.  Not used the Holday pack since as I just didn't get excited about it, I'm selling it at a boot sale a.s.a.p. Wink
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Fun pack at *GRASPS* $20.00! on: 2006 March 17, 13:04:13
This just sends a cold chill down my spine, I'm still getting over all the cock-ups from the Xmas pack which I had to remove - £15.99 straight down the drain.  I still haven't bought OFB yet as my game's playing well right now (thanks MATY Roll Eyes) so I'll be giving this one a definate miss.

83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Should Brynne Live or Die? on: 2006 March 15, 13:09:34
I don't know Brynne that well but from what I've seen of her here, my first instinct would be to say let her out you meanie!

However, I couldn't help snickering at Zoltan's vote and it's only a game after all, so go on, let her piss herself first lol  Roll Eyes
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Annoying attraction/repulsion actions on: 2006 March 14, 22:35:30
when my new sim-self sees a potential customer she's about to gag over and has to go wait on him anyway.  It's just so apt! LOL

Lol, I'm like that in the bridal shop where I work, I gag when the bridezilla's come in Cheesy
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FFS OFB Compatibility List on: 2006 March 13, 11:59:00
I can't live without ltw - sanity/variety.

I agree with you on that one, and like you, I still haven't managed to get a paranormal ltw!  Fightclub's another hack that I rely on, in fact, JM's a bit of a bruiser in my game and doesn't hesitate to slap someone who annoys him!
86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims2 File Maid questions on: 2006 January 19, 23:12:49
Isn't the rack something that was from File Maid 1?  I don't think File Maid 2 has a rack.... I could be wrong though, it's been know to happen before.

That did cross my mind, all the instructions are taken from File Maid 1 so It could just be me being a complete plonker Embarrassed
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims2 File Maid questions on: 2006 January 19, 23:09:43
Thanks for replying so quickly Blue, I was reading the download instructions and all the other gumph that goes with it and apparently the "rack" (forgive my poor terminology here) aids you in sorting your downloads into relevant categories ie., Clothes/Swimwear/PJ's etc.,  I thought it might aid me in keeping my downloads organised but If you've been working without a rack also then I guess it's not causing any problems?

I think I'll go ahead and download the Clean Installer and manage my downloads that way - I can't stand to see my downloads folder in such a mess (anally retentive I know).
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Sims2 File Maid questions on: 2006 January 19, 22:25:57
Evening all,

I downloaded the Sims2 File Maid but it seems to be missing a few options such as the rack etc.,  I can't figure out why this has happened unless it was something to do with Norton?  I thought it might be a bum download so tried again but no luck, the rack and the option to enable the rack is still missing?

Any of you good people got any advice or would you say I was better off using Clean Pack Installer instead?

Be grateful for your thoughts Huh

89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would love some new plants on: 2006 January 18, 18:55:47
Thanks very much all, I'm checking them out now.  You know, I have to say it, just to get it off my chest but I have learned so much more about the game since I found this site, what a massive difference you guys have made Grin
90  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would love some new plants on: 2006 January 18, 00:38:20
Thank you SarahMK, I meant indoor and outdoor, potted and non potted, any plants will do!

Appreciate your help Grin
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Neighborhood apocalypse - on purpose? on: 2006 January 17, 23:35:50
I would definately use that lol!  There's been a few times I would have welcomed the four horsemen to come and devastate a neighbourhood that's gone belly-up Cheesy
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Would love some new plants on: 2006 January 17, 23:20:04
Hi all, I've been trawling different sites for days in the hopes of finding some nice plants for my game but so far, I haven't found anything.  I admit that I haven't plodded through TSR yet as I just can't seem to face it at the mo.

Maybe I was spoilt by Persimmon Grove in the Sims1 but I miss having really great pot plants & various outdoor flowers & shrubs.  Does anyone know of any good sites (preferably free)?  I'd really appreciate any pointers Roll Eyes

Thank you!

93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Don't mean to offend anyone with this... >> (Or do I?) on: 2006 January 16, 19:52:57
You could try this site out www.caravanshopsims2.com

They have some excellent caravans (trailers) and I'm sure you could do something Britneyesque with them, hope the link works for you as I rarely post so haven't quite got the hang of it yet Embarrassed
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vistor autonomously clean on: 2006 January 06, 13:23:47
I've had that happen to my sims too, usually the garden needs a good weeding so I'm not complaining Wink
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: RTFM? on: 2005 December 29, 20:15:53
Humph...... this is typical, management are never willing to hold themselves accountable, c'mon now, you started with the chocolate.  It is true that I didn't have to eat it or add the cream.  However, your blatant advertising obvioulsy warped my already feeble and bewildered brain and as such, I'm currently on the phone to my lawyer........  see you at the tribunal  Wink

You need to learn how to quote.  Wink

I was advertising nothing, and it's not my fault if you have a feeble and bewildered brain...you should blame your parents for that one.   Tongue

Unfortunately, I only have myself to blame and must take full responsibility for the brain situation as I gave up blaming my parents a very long time ago Cheesy.  And no I can't quote yet, thanks so much for mentioning it Wink

Sorry, no, the management takes no responsibility whatsoever for anything you do to yourself.  Tongue

We have chocolates here with brandy in them, do you think that would do?

oooohhhh (shivers) chocolate...... brandy........... and while I'm drooling just add a little cream and we are talking sheer self indulgence.  I'm off to check the fridge out and I hold you personally responsible for my impending weight gain you understand?
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: RTFM? on: 2005 December 29, 16:46:40
No, you're right, it's an acronym.  I blame the excessive amounts of cold drugs.  Roll Eyes

Tee hee, I personally like to blame the brandy in my coffee myself, although sometimes, only good old cough syrup will do!

Considering that JM is the one who uses this abbreviation, which do you think it is?  Wink
[/quote]

Is that an abbreviation or an acronym?  I didn't know what RTFM meant either until now but I am a straying sheep so am learning  Wink
100  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I'm new and need guidance! on: 2005 December 05, 16:21:17
I don't download anything other than Maxis stuff so I'm thinking that the gardener problem stemmed from me marrying him off to Brandi Broke.  I had him quit his job but he still turns up at the neighbours houses when I load them and he just sits there watching TV or playing on the swing.

What ZephyrZodiac said, have you tried ending the gardening services on lots that former-gardener Leo services? I had a similar problem with Kaylynn the maid, I have to say it was a long time ago though, so I don't know if it'll still happen; I had made her into a playable sim without checking she wasn't on maid service on other lots, then when i went to play those lots, she was doing visitor stuffs instead of cleaning the house, can't remember if she was still wearing her maid outfit, don't think there was an option to fire her anymore but anyway, I had a resident say goodbye to her and come the next day, I had a new maid (Remington) showing up at 10a.m. I haven't hired any domestic help nor made any NPCs into playable characters since starting on a fresh game after a hard disk crash (waiting till I've moved all the pre-mades into houses i built myself), but maybe the same thing will work for former-gardener Leo?

Actually, I feel a bit foolish to admit that no I didn't check to see if he was in service elsewhere - doh!  That must be it - this will be the last NPC I convert to a playable character, it seems to upset the balance.  Incidentally, all my blank icon problems seemed to start after making Orlando marry Adrea Hogan (Townie).  Someone on the Sims2 site suggested it could be caused by the reindeer or the snowman in the new Xmas Party Pack - guess we'll have to wait and see if any others out there are experiencing these problems?

Thanks for the advice on my gardener!
