TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Custom objects on shevles in OFB- - Lots won't load now
|
on: 2006 April 06, 17:46:10
|
I would really appreciate some help figuring this one out. I got numenor's hack to allow me to place custom objects on sale shelves, and that seems to work fine, however now any lot that I have put custom objects on, doesn't seem to matter which ones, the lot won't load when you try to go back in. It just hangs. I have a few hacks, will re-edit this post after I make a list. I checked the thread for numenor's hack and no one else seems to have reported this, so I don't think its that hack alone. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Thanks!

For some reason, I expected that the "wholesale" perks would make the supplies for the craft tables cost less, but on another thread it sounded like that isn't true? ![Sad](/smf/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Anyone know? (I haven't actually looked). It seems like if you're buying vases or whatever to arrange flowers, you should be able to get those wholesale for a savings as well. Wholesale perks do not apply to craftable or point of sale restocking. Only items bought through the catalog, AND if you have an employee assigned to restock, you get charged the same amount as if you restocked it. About passing on perks you can only give them to family members or managers.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Why do customers complain?
|

They complain when they have low loyalty and a bad mood. Basically they'll complain even if they didn't encounter anything wrong. Get a few stars with that customer and they'll shut up.
Here's what the prima guide says about it: Customers with low customer loyalty may complain about meses, employees etc. This interaction can only be done by autonomous customers. Whether it's accepted or rejected contrls how much customer loyalty is lose as a result. (-25 if accepted, -100 if rejected). Accepted if sim b's sales talent badge is silver or higher.

Some people with OFB have reported some problems with placing items on the mailbox even with the moveobjects cheat on - so I don't know if this will still be possible with OFB.
You need to turn on moveobjects on to place the mailbox and trashcan.
Bad news: the only place where I know of where you can get the mailbox and trashcan is Carrigon;s residential collection from Variousimmers and since she's not there and VS is up in flames.....
Sorta good news...I have that collection in my collection folder, but am not sure which one it is. I have attached my entire collections folder - it will be one of those files.
Thanks! You solved it. Found it in your 'weirdo' collection, and now the lot loads fine. So happy! Thankyou!

Yes. Ok, but I'll have to download a buymode mailbox right? I think i've seen those around somewhere. I've used the cheat to make a home into a dorm, and so on, but I realized I've never turned a lot that started as a community lot into a residential before. Thanks, I knew it was going to be something dumb I did wrong.

I downloaded a community lot because I love the building, but I want to change it to a home business. So I stripped it of all objects and then used changelotzoning residential to change it to a home lot. I put a family in there and it appeared to work, but when I load the lot it just goes into build mode as if it were still a community lot.

I have yet to even get a friendly ghost. They all come back mean. Most of the time I'm forced to delete their tombstone because of their antics. I really thought I'd like having ghosts because I love ghost stories but they're really more of an annoyance to me.
Likewise. I recently had a grandparent pass away, who acheived two lifetime wants. I didn't sell the beds or anything, but 2 days after he died, he went to scare a couple of the grandchildren with which he had relationship scores of 100/100. I just think if a sim who dies of old age in platinum and has had a perfect overall life etc, they shouldn't be so mean. That being said, I've never had a helpful ghost in my game, even though almost all my sims have at least 5+ in neatness. Ghosts will still scare sometimes even if they aren't angry. Even the helpful ghosts will do that now and again. The way to tell if a ghost is ANGRY or not is to watch them idle. They fume and fuss just like a furious sims. They will scare more aggressively (but ALL ghosts will scare). Also +5 neat is not going to result in a cleaning ghost unless they are all the way to 10.

I had a situation recently where I honestly thought the nanny was going to put the toddler into the dustbin (trashcan for the transatlantically-challenged). She changed the toddler's nappy, then started walking downstairs with it, but the toddler was somehow still attached to her, sort of hanging over her shoulder. She got right up to the ... er ... OK, trashcan (that hurt) ... and leant over. As she leant over, the toddler went forward and her head actually went into the ... the ... dustbin, it's a DUSTBIN. The nappy (no, I will NOT say diaper, that's expecting too much) went in and the toddler seemed to go in too, then as the lid went down somehow the toddler sprung back up over the nanny's shoulder. The nanny walked a bit, then stuck the toddler on the pavement (won't say sidewalk either, sorry).
Anyone who doesn't know what you mean by dustbin or nappy... sorry is a complete idiot. Even though they aren't the words of choice here in America.. it doesn't take much to figure it out in context. Lol... see color or colour? in retardoland.

Hmm....10 neatness and 10 nice points you say? Interesting idea, I would like to try your idea to see if it works. I would love to have more helpful ghosts for a change.
It's helpful if you don't move their stone. I usually have my elders go stand in the yard with free will off at 6pm when it's their time. If necessary fence them in so they don't wander too far from their future grave.

I wish someone would notify the ghosts in question that they're supposed to do this. I've got enough neat-pointed platinum spirits on one of my lots to fill the Tower of London, and they'd much rather scare the bejeezus out of people, whine that I sold their favorite bed, and break lamps. ![Tongue](/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) The ghosts ALSO have to be happy. If you sell their bed, they'll be the angry mean ghosts who break things.

does the DMA woohoo controller change everyone to formal automatically <didn't realize it did that, needs to go play around> Monique's computer will do it, if you choose "change into" "formal" and "everyone" but it's not the perfect interface for community lots and I'd MUCH rather have an Inge formal door <promises not to send any pregnant teens to the dance or to understand if they show up in weird clothes> ![Smiley](/smf/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) No it doesn't, but it works so brilliantly anyway. Just click on it when you arrive and set everyone to formal. Everyone immediatly changes to formal. Good solution until someone here makes something better.

Does anyone know of an object that will force all sims on the community lot to change into formal (or other) clothing? Come to think of it, making everyone change into undies when Crumplebottom is around could be amusing... I was more thinking of formal wear in nice restraunts and ballrooms.
Yes... I found this link here last night in fact and was blown away http://valdea.com/Get the woohoo pack... alot comes with it but you don' t have to use it. I wanted the same thing, I created a ballroom but I didn't want people showing up in their jeans.

You know with the flat land issue, I think its total crap that you can't do a little bit of fine tuning with leveling land and moving roads in The Sims2 without using simcity 4. It's just such a clunky thing to have to do just to move a road over. I know they wanted to tie the products in to make you want to buy simcity4, not that I have a problem with that, but really you should only have to use it to edit the terrain: add water make big hills. GRRRRRRR !
