76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moving From One Lot to Another? on: 2007 March 29, 05:26:17
But is it -at all- possible to make some kind of modification that made sims walk instead of going by taxi/owned car? As for their work, for example, since YA:s can "go" to class (which, in a way, is their scheduled job).

I used to think about this before, really, and now it's all brought up again. Smiley
77  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Mar MATY "More Awful Than You" CC Treasure Hunt: Hair! on: 2007 March 24, 17:59:15

I'm persistently reminded of some sort of kitchen implement.  Can't put my finger on it though.  A mushroom brush ? hmmm.  One of those things you use to clean woks?
Yes, yes, I know exactly what you mean, it was my first thought too. I remember my mother used to have a little steel brush for frying pans that looked very much like it.

Oh and I'm on a roll.  How about this little gem
Oh, I don't know... I think they did a great job, assuming this was what they were aiming for:

78  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Mar MATY "More Awful Than You" CC Treasure Hunt: Hair! on: 2007 March 19, 20:21:23
The worst thing about sshodan's "flowing" hair for men is the animation... random panels of hair flap up and down independent of the rest of the hair. It's like, physics FTL..
I know, and what Rohina said: pictures can't do it justice, although I tried my best:

(I took these pics over a week ago, planning on posting them here but I forgot all about it. I also have no idea what the hair is doing in my game since I did a complete wipe-out not too long ago and have been very picky about what goes into my DL folder after that, but I was rather amused when my sims went to this restaurant for the first time and met the waiter as seen above...)

I don't like Rose's stuff and rarely visit her site but I did so today and this hair literally made me ROFL.

I suppose it's some sort of anime/gaming character hair, I wouldn't know, but...

No, words fail me.
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Get Over It, Already! on: 2007 March 18, 17:58:22
And then they could have a REAL funeral, with mourners and coffins and black clothing...and THEN all the fuss would be over and there would be no more annoying mourning sims.

Oh yeah, I'd really want to have a new 'party' option on the phone - funeral! Sims that had known the deseased could make random speeches, and... Well, I don't know, but it would be awesome! I tried to have a funeral in my poverty challenge family once, with the black buffet table and everyone dressed in black but it wasn't quite right...

There's probably too much to hope for from upcoming 'Celebrations', I'm afraid...  Tongue
80  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Query About A Possible Rain and Puddles Hack or Mod on: 2007 March 16, 23:23:23
Back when we were stuck with the base game only someone, Carrigon I think, made a mod that produced rain (extracted from the game somehow) and I remember that sims reacted to the rain. Clearly, because I was shooting a movie and had to redo a scene because my sim actors started doing some "its raining" gestures and then rushed off the set into the nearest building... Grin
81  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Recategorizing Clothing for Outerwear (the "hard" way) on: 2007 March 07, 15:50:12
Extremely helpful! I'll Ctrl+C this for future referense, thanks a lot!
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does anyone know where I can find an anorexic skintone? on: 2007 February 24, 03:06:44
Perhaps s/he means a shower-proof bodytype with a skintone? I think Melody9's 'slim family' on MTs2, as mentioned above, works that way. I used to have her 'Fat Family' and it cane with a showerproof skintone IIRC.
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Improved Body Shop lighting on: 2007 February 20, 12:27:37
For those who aren't comfortable with fiddling in SimPE, Wes_h has updated with two additional versions now - less bright and even lesser bright! I took "less bright" and tried it out and it looks great. See pics below:

84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Rating stuffs, on: 2007 January 23, 14:25:51
IMHO you can't rate something you haven't seen in game and tested, right? So rating when you're downloading is a no-no, and I can't arse myself to try and re-locate the download after I actually put in in my game, and tested/looked at it (which can take hours, days or even weeks) so no ratings from me. Or very, very rare ones.
Stories I rate, if I like them. I'm silly I guess, but I can't give low ratings to a stori, how bad I yet may think it is. I feel so sorry for the writer...  Embarrassed

I've been featured twice on MTS2, so I very much like to believe that the featuredness depends on OMG!!!!111how good I am!!11...  Tongue Roll Eyes
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This mod looks interesting on: 2006 December 05, 21:34:37
But I thought I took Insim out..?

OK, my DL folder is obviously a total mess. Again.  Cheesy

86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This mod looks interesting on: 2006 December 05, 21:25:13
I have those things already...  Huh When I click on any active sim I get an option that says something like "Show personal stats" and that popup appears. This is since Pets AFAIK. I thought it was a nifty feature from Maxis EA but now I guess it must be because of debug mode (via UserStartup)  Tongue Do I feel silly!
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for some castles on: 2006 December 04, 22:55:13

And I found this one at MTS2 -- I've plopped it in Blue Water Village for 'atmosphere', but I also checked it out, and it looks like it has a pretty decent and playable layout:
http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=203953
Oh, that's mine! Smiley
I think it's easy to play even though it's a large lot and it should be easy to customize for your needs too (tear walls down or put in new ). The terrain is fairly smooth as well. Do you think I've pimped it enough now?
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: SimPE and OMGPETZ! on: 2006 November 25, 17:15:41
Well, then I have no excuses for not trying! Thanks for telling me; I should have no problems keeping myself busy in the nearest future. Tongue
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: SimPE and OMGPETZ! on: 2006 November 25, 03:14:00
That's not enitrely true; her older hairs are not binned, but the newer ones are, at least the (supposedly) natural colours, I never care for or download the other ones so I wouldn't know.

I also want to add that I really - dammit! - must learn how to bin hair one of these days, and agree with that Pegggy's reds really are very, very terrible.
90  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Grief, woe, despair and hideous black screens on: 2006 November 23, 23:12:00
Could it be the drivers for your card?

My game used to hate the (then) newest drivers for my ATI card, causing everything to freeze after 20-30 minutes of play. I got an old version of an Omega driver which I use to this day and never had a problem.

I have an ATI card though, and know absolutely nothing about these things so you shouldn't pay too much attention to me, I'm probably just trying to confuse you Tongue
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moving in with millions of money? on: 2006 November 23, 23:02:57
I don't think TwoJeffs made a hack addressing this, but the no lottery move in was made by Jase (inTeen creator), and it's at http://box156.bluehost.com/~aestudi1/forums/inteenimater/viewtopic.php?t=54

You're so right, thanks for correcting me (so others don't get as confused as myself...)
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moving in with millions of money? on: 2006 November 22, 23:49:22
I think it was a Nightlife bug (or 'feature', depending on how you decide to look at it...).

TwoJeffs have a "no lottery move in" hack, dunno if it's updated for Pets yet though.
93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you kill pets? on: 2006 November 10, 16:27:00
My friend's ghost dog scared one of her teenage sims to death. Now their ghosts are playing fetch together at night!

(Ghost doggie also digs holes. Sigh.)
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Confusion (dumb pets questions) on: 2006 November 01, 03:37:49
I have only had one dog die on me so far. You can see the gravestone in the pic (the urn looked like a sim urn, but smaller, if I remember corectly).

No ghost dog yet.  Smiley

(Note how the other dogs are crying/howling. Aww. And how the now deseased Mr. Pugsley had time for a last piss before her passing away...)
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request: Influence/Do my homework on: 2006 October 20, 23:02:57
It would also be nice to be able to influence those idiot townie-teens to do my sims' homework. It would give them some use.
I can't understand why that wasn't put into game in the first place; the teens need that option a lot more than the college kids IMO... I thought about it just the other night and actually checked the pie menu to see if it somehow had been added with one of the EP's, but no... Tongue
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sick of razzle! on: 2006 October 20, 22:04:37
I think it has something to do with the code to unlock the stupid collars and fur colors : so far I only noticed the lag when pets got promoted. I hope it stops once all the stupid things wil be unlocked.
Pioupiou
Aha, that's probably it! It never hit me that it happened when pets got promoted only, but when I think about it, so, yeah...
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sick of razzle! on: 2006 October 20, 18:47:21
Only problem I've had with the vanilla game (no hacks) is the horrible lag the game gets when someone gets promoted. Mouse freezes, game freezes, no sound for about a minute and a half and then I get the stupid, "You got promoted!" popup.
Glad I'm not the only one. Everything else is running ever so smoothly in spite of my not so high-end computer. But everytime it happens I always think the game froze and is ready to reboot...

Oh, and the razzle obsession is bloody annoying and will continue to be so until someone makes a hack to stop the insanity. What bothers me the most, though, are all those damn visitors who immediately after entering the lot walks up to the dogs and start pestering them...

I constantly find myself screaming: "Bite them already!"

At the screen. I'm stupid that way.
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Did I see this? on: 2006 October 20, 16:11:53
They don't seem to drink from the toilet. Now that's another disappointment. Everyone knows a dog likes to drink from the toilet. It would've looked funny ingame, too. Undecided
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Did I see this? on: 2006 October 20, 14:53:51
One picture is worth 1,000 words, they say... This proves it true.

The blank, stupid look on her face (naturally)... The dog... The puddle..!

Thank you; day less miserable now... Cheesy
100  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Did I see this? on: 2006 October 19, 23:18:49
EW! Ew Ew! Now there will be no nannies and pets allowed on the same lot, or the dogs will all be following her around waiting till she "pours them a drink". Ew.
Cheesy Grin

Oh, I can't wait!
