It's interesting the way some brainwashed people allow their property to be manipulated by some private corporate entities without judicial power. So today it may be just a trifle annoyance with a couple of emulation softwares. What makes them believe that the same corporations will not go further than that? How naive.
See the recent flap about Google apps blocking the use of PayPal for more details....

Just remove the pirate tools off your system (such as Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools), and game should load fine for 99% of you.
And FWIW, there are legitimate reasons to use Alcohol (CD/DVD archiving, for example) and Daemon Tools (to run legitimately owned software without having to put the CD in every time, and to speed up game loading), so calling them 'pirate tools' is a sign of severe brainwashing by the companies who use invasive and/or harmful forms of copy protection. And also FWIW, I have legitimate copies of all my games, and I still prefer to run them with various no-cd tools or exes.

Am I missing something or is taking longer than usual for a FixedEXE to appear fot the newly patched Freetime?
Not really "longer than usual', I don't think. I remember one of the earlier no-cd.exes took a while to come out after the patch (I think it was the first BV patch) -- maybe 2-3 weeks.

The hospitality/romance attraction thing gets seriously wacked at times. The sworn enemy of one popularity sim (who had the hospitality benefit) kept coming to his house and getting into his pool. I don't mind if friends or family members drop by, but an enemy? The owner of the lot would eventually take notice of his being there, and would go stand by the pool waiting for a fight that never happened because the enemy didn't get out of the pool on his own. Put up a fence, but then the enemy would come and stand by the gate trying to get into the pool, until the playable noticed he was there (which sometimes never happened).
Got to the point that the enemy would keep getting smited to chase him off. I didn't want to kill him off, since he was a playable from another lot. He has since died of old age, so problem solved, but it was annoying while it went on.

2. The BV maids to actually do something other than stand on the same spot the entire vacation while possibly turning their heads to view other Sims.
That one has been fixed by Paladin over on www.simwardrobe.com -- look in his fixes area for the 'improved-housekeeping' fix. He also has one that makes the bellhop useful.

There's some ADHD issues with it, but no loss of progress.
Yea, it's pretty bad that way -- I usually click on macro/concentrate right after sending a sim off to study parenting, and that solves the ADHD problem. Since the parenting thing is pretty useless anyway, now I don't even bother having the sims study it at all, unless they get a want for it.

More likely you have a hack that's breaking it -- they retain their 'knowledge' between sessions in my game just fine and pick up where they left off. Make sure you don't have an older non-FT compatible hack hiding somewhere.

Eh? What if the hard disk is completely broken, then? No physical Windows CD to install in newly replaced HD? People have to buy Windoze again? That's atrocious, surely they paid for it when they bought their computer. When the HD went south under warranty on my Dell laptop, they sent a new (bigger ) HD out with a Windows install CD. Though as Witch pointed out, most mass market computers have the Windows serial number on a sticker somewhere now, so really, you can use any Windows install CD.

Yes; there's a cheat you can enter that regulates the number of sims allowed to visit community lots and come to parties. I'm not at my game computer right now, and I don't remember the exact name of the cheat off the top of my head, but if you do a search on "maxnumberofsims" (or variations of that phrase) it should turn up here in the Podium.

In reading through all the messages, and on snootysims, it appears that securom has been inserted into the patch they just released.
You mean, as in the patch installs SecuRom when you run it? Oh, definitely DNW, then. (P.S.: colored text in messages is frowned upon here on MATY -- just a word to the wise...) ETA: Ok, I checked the sources mentioned -- it appears you still have to run the new Sims7EP.exe to get the new, nastier SecuROM. It's not installed by just installing the patch. So the wait for a no-cd.exe continues...

I thought the drama professors were usually Popularity, not Romance. They do have special coding that makes them instantly best friends and in love with absolutely everybody......
....A lot of people like the TwoJeffs Visitor Controller. I find it squelches a few too many things for my taste.
They may be; I avoid them like the plague (i.e., by not answering the door). I did have a sim go to the park at Sim State when I was playing last night, and the male drama professor was there -- hitting on every other male in sight (I love ACR's random gender preference). He got rejected and poked in the chest quite a bit. The latest VC doesn't squelch anything you don't want it to squelch. TJ removed pretty much all the default settings, and every setting can be changed. I think only the gypsy and Mrs. C are banned by default now, and even that can be changed quite easily. The settings are on a lot basis; handy for making teen-only or gay-only clubs, or designing that little love nest club for your romance sims where they can stalk new lovers without running into existing ones. In my mind, it's one of the 5 essential tools for the game (the lot debugger and macrotastics and its related accessories are also in that group).
