TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Jump bug when using reward bookcase - FT.

I just had an odd thing happen. I had one sim use the bookcase and she got the book fine, and then I had another sim go to study and it created an error (attached). Happened with different sims and different study topics.
Error: Hit Break Point Primitive
Wondering if someone with more talent in reading error logs could help enlighten me to the issue.

L&P is that this computer can be used for blogging for the hobby, and it's "special" since it can't be bought. Has anyone confirmed if you must have this PC to do these actions? Cause it kinda looks outta place in my apocalypse neighbourhood. ![Grin](/smf/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Look at the manufacture's guide for your mobo. If you don't have a guide and don't know what the board is, open the case and look on the board. It should have brand and model no on there.
eg: My mobo is a ECS K8M88-M2.
With this information you can check the maker's website for the specs.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help Wanted: BSODs and CPU Overheating

Syberspunk - I recommend trying a new heatsink and fan, something from thermaltake, and don't forget the arctic silver 3 thermal grease. It will be cheap component to replace, and you can still use it even if you rebuild. Roxio wouldn't have been using your video gpu to do tvio processing - it would have been all cpu, which makes me think that overheating is an issue, at higher cpu cycles. From what you said, there seems to be an issue only when the load on the cpu is high.
Cyperangel - Do you have a screensaver or anything that runs when the computer is idle? It seems like something starts during idle time and that is what freezes it. It could be software related, or it could be that the computer is trying to use something with faulty drivers / bad component at that time.

Always late to the party... As a retail slave for 9 years, 4 of those years in a Tech Bay/refund counter I can tell you this: the more of an ass you become (yelling etc) the less I will be motivated to help you. Legally in Australia, we don't have to return computer software once it's been opened, unless the disc is faulty and doesn't read. My store had big signs advising of this, along with the "please read system requirements" signs. I got perverse pleasure in telling all those screaming asshats no, I will not refund you your money, cause your 3 year old system couldn't play Neverwinter Nights / latest release FPS. I got even more pleasure when the store owner would come out to see what the fuss was about and then yell at them for yelling at me, and kick them out. BTW never yell at a tech when you are giving them your computer for extended warranty repair. We will browse your hard drive, laugh at your photos, copy your 10Gb of porn/mp3s/etc and then format the drive and tell you that the data was unrecoverable. We will point at the sign and at the waiver you signed when you booked the computer in that we do not make any guarantees about data recovery, and that rebuilt systems will be reformatted when rebuild is completed. If you're polite and nice however, your data will be on cds for you to install, and you may even have some more ![Wink](/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I've had to return stuff and never had a problem, and after 9 Christmases is retail, I'm super nice to everyone this time of year.

I'm now using the Procyon torrent of BV and it works fine. I had set my game up in the same manner that moron described and it works sweet.
btw I'm still seeding that torrent if someone wants it.

I pulled my hacks and I am only using the new DC. When my sim was greeting the neighbours they started jumping out of the interaction. This was the log produced. I'm not sure what's wrong.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More realistic/difficult relationships?
|
on: 2007 July 15, 20:29:20

When I play, I use the interest categories to make sims incompatible. When my sims turn to teen, I roll a set of interests based on aspiration and personality. In one family, the father and son are sports mad, their eldest daughter is into fashion and music and the younger daughter is into politics and money. Every time there is a meal together, someone always looses relationship points because they are not "compatible". It's a simple way to ensure that there is a little more variety, and meal times are a instant top up to relationship points. I would love to see a more complex set of socials, but I don't want to make the friendship aspect to difficult either, or my popularity and romance sims may die even earlier. ![Grin](/smf/Smileys/default/grin.gif) -Skadi

For the record, we had a customer with the surname Cockburn when I worked in computer repairs. Yesterday I spoke to Mr Goodenough. Then there was Frank Spencer wanting to check his car insurance. It's hard not to laugh.
