I can only find a noDVD crack for Patch 3 at Game Copy World. Anyone know of a GOOD noCD crack?
Doesn't matter -- it's the same .exe, and works whether you have the CD version or DVD version. Only difference is that the DVD version comes with only one disk, while the CD has two disks.

Why not follow MATYs tips on catching a ninja? Use the ninja statue.
I do -- I have the ninja statue on pretty much every comm lot in the far east hood. And it works, most of the time. But I just get runs where he's standing by the statue when my sim arrives, and by the time my sim gets to him, he's gone. And he doesn't come back. So the teleport cat is the backup plan.

It's hard enough to catch that son of a bitch.
Easy way to catch the ninja -- put a teleporter object (I use Inge's cat) somewhere on the sim's hotel lot, and then teleport the ninja in. Have your sim standing right next to the teleport object when you do so. (I reserve this for times when I have a sim I really want to learn how to teleport, and the damn ninja either never shows up, or disappears as soon as the sim hits the comm lot.)

I've found an annoyance since installing the patch- the always crying babies are back. I had my first babies born in-game since the patch, and both spent their entire infancy screaming unless being held, despite the fact that their portraits were green. When I grew them up, their fun bars were tanked, which never occured before the patch. Ugh, I thought this bug was long gone!
You must have an outdated hack lurking in your downloads somewhere -- I've had no problem with babies, crying or otherwise, after installing the patch, and I've had at least 3 born since then.

You can increase the odds of a marry-in having a boatload of stuff in their inventory with owned businesses, especially if you allow YAs to shop there with the customer selector. Though I'm currently playing the new hood that came with FT (Desiderata, I think it's called?) with no owned businesses yet, and I had a playable marry her college love and the YA came into the house with over 50,000 simoleans worth of stuff...

I still wish it was less ridiculously easy to obtain and maintain romantic relationships.
NL added the attraction system and it's not even useful. The "dating game" is absolutely no challenge. By the time the relationship is high enough for a sim to say yes to a date request, the whole relationship is already in the bag. Sims can have absolutely nothing in common, be disgusted by each other, and still fall in love, get married and procreate. You don't even need to interfere before or beyond clicking *get married*.
You need noinstantloves and the romancemod, both found here in the FFS directories (or definitely in the director's cut).

In answer to your question, no, I've never seen a hack that lets non-uni folks visit the uni lots. However, a uni student can invite anyone he/she knows to any uni lot. And uni students aren't restricted to just visiting community lots at the university -- they can go to any community lot in any sub-hood in the game.

Assign/Unnmanned Owner lets you set what job the owner will have in the situation you described -- the owner will be the cashier when you visit the lot with another playable sim, for example, if you assign the unmanned owner to 'cashier'. Family members don't count as employees, unfortunately, so they won't be on the lot when you visit it. You would have to have at least one real employee assigned to a job on the lot for there to be someone other than just the owner on the lot when you visit it.

On a side note: Why are so many people calling Freetime Funtime? Is it different in international versions or something?
Yes; some of the foreign language versions translate to 'Fun Time' in English. I think BV had a slightly different name in some languages, too.

I'll probably get the no-CD crack, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it doesn't screw up my computer...
Many of us here have been playing with no-cd exes for a long time; so long as you get it from a reliable source (i.e., gamecopyworld), it's highly unlikely it'll do anything to your computer. In fact, you have better odds of SecuROM screwing up your computer than any no-cd exe that keeps it from being installed in the first place.

And I'm a little intrigued by your statement that it is "completely illegal" - do they have levels of illegality now? - but that's another subject entirely.
A bit illegal - speeding Mostly illegal - robbery Pretty much illegal - murder Completely illegal - playing the sims with a no-cd exe. (BBS brainwashing at its finest...)

Okay-I just remember someone trying to actually kill their sim by a number of means on vacation, and it not working.
Maybe nouniprotect also affects vacation lots, since I seem to remember having a sim accidentally die in the ocean (though my memory may be faulty).

Besides, you're much better off going over to Simbology and getting the ACR (Autonomous Casual Romance) mod that TJ puts out; much better than the swinger bed and hot tub, and it works anywhere/everywhere in the game.

Also, the EA Download Manager does store copies of what you downloaded locally, usually, so you may be able to find the other stuff that way. They're a couple of levels down in a directory called 'Program File' (if memory serves --- I'm not at my home computer right now) that's right off the root of your C: drive. Poke around in there and you may find them.
