It doesn't appear to. I ran AL for a couple of hours on my Core 2 Duo desktop last night, and it hummed along just fine -- even seemed faster than FT using one core w/Forcecore. I saw no lag, no graphic glitches, nor any other signs of it having an issue with a multi-core processor.
So it seems that AL at least plays nice with the multi-core processors, if it doesn't actually make good use of them.

I've had situations in the past where a sim is talking to another on the phone, and the other sim shows up as a walk-by while they're still supposedly on the phone. If they're friendly enough, the visitor has even just walked into the house, puttering around while the resident sim is still talking to him/her on the phone. Not quite as bad as two of the same sim showing up on the same lot, but still a weird glitch.

That's weird. I remember reading a thread here about the game having a glitch that caused it not to run properly on Dual core machines? It was soem time ago and I am technically challanged so I may have not understood what people were talking about. Though I remember the thread 'cause it explained how to fix it and everything with a file you had to download from the Windows site. ![Undecided](/smf/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) The file is actually called 'Forcecore' and it's a small utility that's somewhere here and around on the net -- it forces the application to use just one core. Up to FT at least, the game ran faster if you forced it to use only one core. It had some glitches and ran slower if you let it use all cores. It seems like AL may not necessarily run better on a multi-core machine, but it won't run bad, either.

As for renting an apartment and not having much left over for more than the cheapest items, that sounds pretty much like real life to me. A starting out sim who has just left home or college shouldn't be able to afford to buy a house or have expensive furniture.
The IKEA stuff pack finally makes sense... ![Smiley](/smf/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Just stick a controller by each toilet -- they all then take/share the same settings, so you can't adjust each one individually. Just adjust the settings on one (leave it at room), and the rest follow. And yes, the number of controllers determines how many sims can use the room at the same time.

Yes, that's what he's saying -- if the apartments don't have a common wall, then the neighbors can't complain (which they do excessively, it appears). Hence, that's the solution to reducing the complaints right now.
As for the disappearing furniture, it's been discussed extensively here. I suggest you check the thread on AL borkedness in the 'Oops! You broke it!' forum.

Two things to try/remember:
1) you need a BUY controller for each toilet stall in the bathroom. 2) having the shower in a different room is just annoying as far as getting BUY to work. Best bet is to just remove a piece of the wall so the shower is in the same room as the toilets. You need to turn on the build cheat to do this, which is: "boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled false"

No question about it, it's Baba Yaga's house of the chicken feet. Funny how that's filtered into American culture so thoroughly that it's immediatley recognizable.
Somebody at EAxis is a Hellboy fan -- that kinda looks like how Baba Yaga's hut appears in the Hellboy comics.

- I don't know if this is a bug or if there's something wrong with my game, but there's no video clips on the television anymore. When my sim tries to watch television I just get some text on white background on the tv-screen and that's it. Also my sims can play The sims 3 on the videogame thingy, but there's just a blue screen and no sound.
I'm going to guess you have an ATI video card -- this was a bug in the release version of FT that was finally fixed by the 2nd/3rd patch, and also fixed by an update to the ATI drivers. Looks like it's back.

It basically provides fine control over the sim's autonomous actions. Sim is doing something, you click on sim, you can make action non-autonomous or autonomous for sim, lot, whole hood.

Well, the Hack Conflict Detection Utility over on simwardrobe can tell if you have conflicting hacks, but there's no program that can point out a bad hack or one that's incompatible with your current EP. Easiest way to find it is the binary search method:
1) move your downloads folder out of the game. 2) run game to make sure function works, and it's not a problem with the core game files 3) put back 1/2 of your downloads, and see if function still works 4) If yes, put in 1/2 of remaining moved downloads, and repeat 5) if no, take out 1/2 of downloads in the game and check again 6) repeat until you find the bad hack
A binary search isn't hard, and you can usually narrow down the problem in 5 or 6 iterations.

If that does nothing, then you have a hack/mod that's not compatible with your game. Suggest you update your hacks for the latest EP you have, or remove your downloads folder, see that it does in fact work, and then do a binary search to find the bad hack/mod that prevents the sims from changing.
