3501  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is this hack possible - toggle daylight in live mode? on: 2007 May 22, 15:47:31
Or just bring up the cheat console and enter "sethour X" where the hour is in simplified military time. (1 for 1:00 am, 13 for 1:00 pm, 19 for 7 pm). No need to get a kitten-or-puppy killer.
3502  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pregnancy at uni on: 2007 May 22, 04:58:41
I once (when I was first starting to play with boolprop TestingCheats) got a YA pregnant.  I used the Tombstone of L & D to speed up the pregnancy, then- after the mother graduated- I had to use the Sim Modder to age the baby up to teen so she could "move to college" ( Tongue ) and go on from there.  But it was pretty stupid of me- I didn't play the mother till the child graduated and they ended up being the same age.
I've done it once, and that was enough to get it out of my system. You can add the baby back into the family once they've moved into the neighborhood by using the tombstone and have it remain as a baby. That was in a coed frat full of pre-ACR debauchery. (Castor Nova getting busy with three sisters at different times, getting two of them pregnant and marrying the other).
3503  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Problems with boolprop testingcheatsenabled true on: 2007 May 22, 04:54:53
The woohoo one bores me, as does the first kiss. Alien baby is cute, as is abduction. I've had three abductions just recently as the green bastards really seem to like Dorothy. I choose to believe it has to do with her rather odd history, but it's probably just because she has no hope of alien pregnancy.

Normal baby birth annoys me because there's always an extra plumbbob in the video if I have the mom selected, which I generally do around baby time.
3504  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Random Character Creator on: 2007 May 22, 04:35:26
Simsample, and other mates ask me for RCC, but actually and i definetly i will not more build stuff for ts2.
Eh? Someone peed in your cheerios or something?
Oooh! I'll play translator (since it's obvious the OP actually isn't a native English speaker, otherwise I'd point & laugh).
Simsample, and other mates ask me for RCC, but actually and i definetly i will not more build stuff for ts2.
so i didn't know where to place this tools, that i suppose to be definetly lots (obviously that not), so i put it here...
at least unitl JM will clean the message  Grin
"Simsample and some other friends of mine asked me to share this Random Character Creator. I won't be building any other programs for Sims2. I wasn't sure which section of the forum to place this in as I suspect this section is for sharing lots/houses (and this obviously isn't a lot), so I placed it here. If this is incorrect, I'm sure JM will move the post."

Anyways.... Hook's program, not as customizable, with pretties, in Italian.

Aluminum foil covering for your loveseat, huzzah!
For a crackling good time!
Or to keep peeing pets off the sofa.

Found that out after living in a house with five cats, only one of which was mine. Tinfoil on a couch is no fun to walk on or pee on, if you're a cat.
Mine think it's lovely fun. Soren likes to dive-bomb it and slide, Mikko likes to eat it.
3506  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Zazazu's face replacements on: 2007 May 21, 14:46:24
Fart, I thought I'd fixed that. Will do tonight when I take new pics sans Enayla skins and will reupload the file.

Edit: I'm not seeing that they are the same, and I haven't changed my files since uploading. Hrm. I checked all age groups and sexes of faces 5&6 and they are consistent. Will test in-game instead of in BodyShop in case something with BodyShop is borkified.
3507  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pregnancy at uni on: 2007 May 21, 14:33:40
a well, no babys then *g*

I did not mean as visitors. I just dont want sims that donīt go to college to age faster ;-)
You are going to have to figure out some kind of accounting system to deal with the age discrepancy. I suggest borrowing the days you choose out of the teen stage, it's disproportionately out of scale anyway.
I cut teenhood at 8 days (so 7 days left) regardless of whether they go to Uni or not. It's boring after day two anyways.

As for the pregnancy thing, why rush it? They have plenty of time to procreate when they graduate/drop out. Could you study with something kicking your bladder? As for sims not going to college not aging faster, I'm not sure I understand the issue. They won't age unless you play them. You could always turn aging off for them.
3508  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fat Dormies on: 2007 May 20, 23:52:44
Just did a 3x3 quad set-up (no landscaping):

The third story on the study/library and the second story on the gym are just loft space I added for looks. It looks good and makes sense to me, but the dorm is definitely smaller than my taste. You could probaby convert the space into 4 smallish bedrooms for playables. I did two small suites (one with attached bath) on the second floor and six mini-whatevers for myne door placement so I'd have NPC dormies.

And yes, that's a ninja in the fountain.

For Flamingo, lot available here: http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/lot_detail.php?asset_id=547614
Note that any custom content that says it's by me on that page isn't. Varagies of EA. I just place the walls.
3509  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fat Dormies on: 2007 May 20, 03:52:19
Gus, what lot size were you doing? I'm away from a computer with the Sims2 for another 12 or so hours, so all I've been able to do is sketch stuff out....but in my opinion a 6x6 is going to be overkill. I'm thinking a 4x4 should do it, with a 3x3 possible with a very small quad area (ditch a central gazebo) and smaller buildings.

Anyways, I really like the idea. I'll have to break my rules and build a new Uni lot early tomorrow. Eve may not be going to college now, as I've decided on a way to both invite some tradegy and bring Charisma the Freak back into the foreground.
3510  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: My arcade is HOT! on: 2007 May 20, 03:45:24
*smells fire*

Sounds like invisible fire on the lot, most likely a result of a lightning strike since it's a community one. Have you tried keeping boolProp active while there?
3511  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: May "More Awful Than You": Buttugly Brokeass Furniture on: 2007 May 19, 05:01:37
Um. Yeah. What is up with the scary animated stuffed animals-as-food?
3512  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fat Dormies on: 2007 May 19, 04:53:00
And I've got the dorms gender-divided also, so they go to the community lots to date or have study dates or meet each other in the library.
What! Everyone knows that fully coed dorms are the only way to go. Otherwise you don't get near the level of debauchery that makes Uni fun.

Quote
I don't like "everything in one lot" community lots. I like different places with different atmospheres and for them to have to move around.
The problem with everything community lots is that you only need one. That means you end up going to the same lot, over and over and over. I have one all-in-one lot downtown. It's the only lot I have downtown. It only exists so that my sims have someplace to go when some random person calls them telling they've found "a new place downtown", which reaches new levels of hilarity when there's only one lot. All other community lots are focused and either in the neighborhood or, coming soon, in Uni (I'm thinking only a coffee shop and a bookstore/clothing store, as I'm dorm-centric). Saish (named after Saish Test, my sim first family in TS1 & TS2) is a restaurant/club (restaurant level is a loft equal to approximately 3 floors in height, yummy), but that's as much multitasking as lots can do.
3513  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fat Dormies on: 2007 May 18, 21:18:27
It's true that I'd prefer that my Sims leave the dorm for most things, for aesthetic reasons, but for the reasons I've listed above, it hasn't worked out very well in practice.  Maybe I should take a shot at making a mini-campus on a single lot, with seperate buildings for the dorm and the other facilities.  I'm not sure there's room to do this well, even on the largest lot.
On the 6x6 lot, maybe. It all depends on how many floors you want to go up, how many different types of facilities, and how many dormies you want...plus how true to normal dorm design are you going? I generally make one or two suites for my playables (often the rooms are shared, just put two Myne doors in) and then a bunch of 1x2's or whatever depth works with the rest of the design for the dormies. Premiere Dorms (custom, yum) has 16 1x3 "rooms" for dormies, and the size of these rooms was the excuse I used to move my two playables in together.

On a 6x6, a quad with four sub-buildings is doable. You could basically have a 2x2's space for each building, plus the fluff in the middle for a lawn & garden with gazebo and circular path around it with paths going in the four cardinals....maybe some flower plots breaking up the large paths.....hmm. Now I may have to send another spawn off to college. Eve is a Knowledge sim, after all, and two of her possible intendeds are professors. Depending on her LTW and who she gets a jones for, she may go. I have strict building rules while I'm doing my alpha challenge. No buildy-poo in the Uni until another spawn goes.
3514  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Awesomeland: Should Awesomeland Be Reloaded? on: 2007 May 18, 20:47:25
I'm always asploding my hoods and starting over. I do it so often that when I build a house I like, I bin it before moving in Sims, just so I'll have the clean copy it in the next hood. My Sims have a very fickle Oversoul.  Wink
I bin the community lots I love (my gardens & public greenhouses, extravagant proposal restaurant/hotels, and my Chutes & Ladders board lot). The houses bore me after a generation. Average retention of a neighborhood = 4 months. Then I'll start a new one, start playing the homes, and think that it might be nice to clone some of the old sims over. I glance at the old neighborhood and no one looks as exciting as they used to, so I delete them.

I really miss the city destruction tools in SC4. We really need them in Sims2. I'd love to set a rampaging robot over to a neighborhood I don't care about, followed by some meteors.
3515  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Zazazu's face replacements on: 2007 May 18, 15:12:10
I would like to see the templates without the Enayla skins. Her skins tend to visually change the structure of the face, so it's difficult to tell what the face actually looks like.
Hmm. Ok. Can-do, but I'm in Indiana this weekend and won't have access to my PC. I'll get a pic of the set with the uglified Maxis tones early next week.
3516  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fat Dormies on: 2007 May 18, 14:43:04
Or you could use Merola's Mind Control Mirror to make them selectable and then direct them to work out.
This always gets me. Just use vanilla boolprop "testingcheatsenabled true". Shift-click on her, make her selectable, and direct her to exercise. When she's done, shift-click again and make her unselectable.

A completely non-cheaty way is to put a pool in the dorms. As I proved in my last dorm, all 16 of the dormies practically lived in their swimsuits, and I was thoroughly sick of the event cam popping up when they went fit. By my playable's Sophmore year, it was a fully buff dorm. I also have the community lot skilling hacks, which means that my dormies all have loads of body skill points as well!
3517  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: M.I.A. Scope Room on: 2007 May 18, 14:37:13
You can also do this in a 4x3:
B B H
H E E
B E E
B E E

The H being the head of the bed. Gives the kids room to get out of their beds at the same time. No more "Sis! I can't get out! Ahhhh!". They don't actually use the foot of the bed.

Of course, there's nothing like fitting a dresser and five single beds in an irregular room equivalent to a 5x7 in a manner that also prevents screaming. That was difficult.
              D D
              E E
H X H E E E H
B E B E E E B
B E B E B E B
E E E E B
H B B E H

You've been playing the same neighborhood since it first came out? How.....Ok. I'm on my 8th or 9th custom hood since then, and the Maxis defaults have been trashed and reloaded several times.

Explode it, but go on a mass killing spree beforehand and post pictures.
3519  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Which EP next? on: 2007 May 18, 00:07:09
I love (some) of the new build mode features, and I still want my build mode stuffit pack!
Please please please! Curved walls, more versatile roofing, pillars that actually meet up properly with the floor above....a non-cheaty way to make nice modular stairs.
3520  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: May "More Awful Than You": Buttugly Brokeass Furniture on: 2007 May 17, 17:40:09
I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I actually like one or two of the items in the Exotic Modern pic. Linky?
The ceiling lights are decent, and the super-tall sculpture is really nice. Everything else is crap.
3521  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What do you build into your houses? on: 2007 May 17, 17:04:25
I take it you don't have Seasons?  In my game I had young Zander Roth sitting hip-deep in snow by the letterbox, doing his homework.
Considering that my father had to walk uphill through the snow both ways to school every day (true, my family is from West Virginia originally on both sides), my simmies can do their homework in the snow.

I do the same cancel-out, but typically once they drop it I go into buy mode, move it into the living room, go back into play mode and que up some actions to get their motives homework-ready, then let them do it in the living room. The C generation had to do it in the front yard in all seasons because they had too many kids for the house and I don't do rebuilds. Plus it was funny.
3522  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Which EP next? on: 2007 May 17, 16:52:34
I actually found a use for influence yesterday. I have a good female breeder, and I wanted her to breed with a married Sim from another lot. Their relationship was around 100/85, but he continually rebuffed her flirts. I didn't want to mess with the love potion, so I had her toddler influence him to flirt with her. Hearts flew and now a baby is on the way.
That's hilarious. "I wanna brother! Kiss my mommy!"

If you can only do one, Seasons is a must-have. It completely changes the game. By switching seasons around, you can make neighborhoods that truly seem different from one another, plus the Oversoul approves of all the new deaths from above.

Pets is fun, so don't knock it, but it's only slightly better than Uni. It does necessitate changes in lot setup. Hiding the garbage can is a must (in a small 1x1 C-shaped alcove or behind a door locked against pets). Most of my neighborhoods have had a high number of filthy strays who love to dig, but somehow my current one hasn't had a digger in five generations of play. I have a beef against collars...they never look right on a pet that doesn't have a pencil-thin neck.
3523  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: sc4 templates - i can has? on: 2007 May 17, 16:19:21
I use the Dinky ones for Uni and Downtown, then I have my own custom one for my neighborhood. Same basic concept in that most blocks are 3x3's, with a few larger and smaller thrown in for variety...but it's a huge neighborhood with the grid reaching almost to the edges, rivers, a mountain range.....most of the playable land is fairly flat, though. It's so much fun building this one up from scratch, I have 3 blocks filled and a couple oddball lots (Lonny Lon's phone booth for his pet breeding, all knowingness, and mysterious deeds; the swiss-cheese house that seems to also be linked to the increasing number of grayish shuffling former Romance sims who are now jonesing for cheese). One of these years I'll upload it somewhere, but I don't have pings for it. I chose to create a custom graphic for my neighborhood & subs this time around. Cute little graphic mod things.
3524  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The eternal search... on: 2007 May 17, 16:10:35
I still use navetsea's, i like the body, but I find the face off-coloured. And the skintones a tad similar.
I've realised I've lost my replacement pollination technician, since I didn't have a special default folder at the time. Which one do you use?
I use the multi-pollination tech hacky-poo from MTS2 (4 daddies): http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=71852
There's an expanded (8 daddies) type here that I haven't tried: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=79039
3525  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: RandomStuff: Configurable "dice rolling" program on: 2007 May 17, 16:00:15
Somewhat related question: does anyone happen to have a list of JadeElliot's Random Occurrences that she had up on her site (before it went under)? That was really awesome terrific.  Lips sealed I thought I'd use this neat little program to shake up my families a bit when they get a little boring.
Someone needs to find that girl, drag her back kicking & screaming, make her give up the goods, and throw her back. She had too much good stuff to disappear.
