326  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Post problems you've noticed, on: 2006 March 07, 05:03:45
What happens when I try to place anything is that it says it is out of bounds, but normally you can bypass that with the moveobjects cheat and now it won't work.  I've removed everything that might possibly have to do with it, such as portal hacks and the rest of it, but it's still happening.  If no one else is getting it, I will have to try removing all hacks and adding them back bit-by-bit and I hate having to do that, so I'm sort of hoping it's a glitch and not something personal to my game.

Yup, I think it's the same in everyone's OFB. There's no way to place anything on top of the mailboxes or move anything beyond the sidewalk. I tried to move a school bus because it stopped right in front of the mailbox and the kids couldn't get off and I wasn't able to place it back down anywhere on the road. I didn't bother waiting for the car in front of the bus to leave, I just exited and sent the dad to work in his car instead the second time around. I hope someone is able to find away around this issue - I love the mailbox covers.  Undecided

What I'm saying is the Servos need not recharge outside at all.  Their energy raises in a bed, a sofa and as you said a coffin.  The whole recharge in the sunlight is not necessary unless it is a preference.

How does the recharge speed in a bed/coffin/etc. compare to using sunlight? I've only just activated my first Servo and it seemed like it only took her an hour or two to recharge from half power to full when she went outside. If it's the same speed for beds, I might build her a little shed in the backyard so she has somewhere to hang her uhh... bow.

That's definitely wierd!  Have you checked their neighborhood memores too, and deleted any reference to having met?

Yup, I removed the corresponding memories of them meeting each other. I've done the same thing any number of times with other Sims successfully, he just doesn't want to stop. At this point I can't think of any other way to get him to stop calling besides killing him.
329  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Post problems you've noticed, on: 2006 March 07, 00:37:24
I've had a couple of problems so far (in addition to the Renuyu orb corruption) in the little bit of time I've had to play OFB. The first problem is that once my family's crafted robots have returned to their bases after their initial startup, they don't ever leave on their own again. I don't exactly know what the CleanBots are capable of, but they remain on their bases while dirty dishes, puddles, and old newspapers pile up. I have one CleanBot on each floor and I've checked any number of times to make sure they are turned on but they just sit there taking up space. When I send my Sims to "reboot" them (turn off then on), they go off to water/clean for a few minutes and then return to their bases and never come out again until they are rebooted. Maybe I'm missing something, but I assumed that while they are in the on position they will leave their bases periodically to do the limited number of chores they are capable of doing.

The second problem is far more irriating though. I have a phone stalker who calls every evening for a Sim even though she died a few days ago. He was initially introduced to my Sim as a contact but that effect has long worn off. From the first time he contacted my Sim, he has called every evening at around 6:30 and then again a few minutes later (it's always twice). Before my Sim died, I would have someone else answer the phone and tell him she was unavailable. Now that she's pushing up daisies, when he calls he says something to the effect of "Oh Callista isn't home? Okay, I'll call back later." I tried removing the relationship between the two of them in SimPE last night so they have 0 relationship points towards each other and are, as far as SimPE is concerned, unknown to one another. I also checked both their memories and don't see a contact token anywhere, but the bastard continues to call every night for her. This happens with or without any hacks in the game - even with the phone hack he still calls. One small thing to note is that even with the phone hack installed and the phone ringer set to off, his phone calls still get through and the phone will ring for hours until someone answers. I've taken to removing the telephone from the house until I introduce him to the cow plant.

Finally sent them home around 3 a.m. after they had been working most of the day.  At 6 a.m. I tried to summon them to work again, only to get a message to the effect of "I'm too tired, I need to rest for a while."

You have to wait at least 6 hours to call them back into work. They can still call in sick if they don't feel like coming in.
331  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How can you change the music on the loading screen? on: 2006 March 05, 00:31:34
There's a New Wave station with some 80's songs in Simlish and a Shopping station with build/buy (I think) music from TS1. I don't usually get to play with the sound on so I'm not sure if there are new songs on the other stations.
332  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How can you change the music on the loading screen? on: 2006 March 04, 21:53:38
I was wondering the same thing when I loaded OFB for the first time. I'd much rather hear the original TS2 loading music or even from Vacation or Superstar.
333  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Post problems you've noticed, on: 2006 March 04, 21:50:00
Help please! I bought a grill for my community business, but i can't clean the plates after people eat!!! Is this normal? do you have the same problem? The clean option just isn't there and the dishwasher isn't clickable...so there are plates everywhere  Lips sealed

Is there a trash can on the lot anywhere? I seem to recall the community grills using paper plates instead of regular dishes. I could be completely out of my mind though.
334  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request: Talent Badge training progress bar .... Please? :) on: 2006 March 04, 21:45:21
I would love a talent badge meter. The guide has listed 1 hour, 24 hours, and 48 hours for the time it takes to receive the badges, but the relevant skill level and personality seem to make a difference as well so those numbers could be wildly different for a Sim with the "wrong" personality type and/or no skills. I'd like to know just how far my Sims have to go before they can make Servos/snapdragons/etc.

Slightly related, does anyone know if thinking caps increase the speed of earning badges?
335  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Managers and the salon chair on: 2006 March 04, 07:40:07
I haven't done much with the makeover chairs but in order to promote to manager, the employee needs a total of at least 5 badge points (bronze = 1, silver = 2, gold = 3).

Aussieone I tried - I couldn't find an option anywhere.  I've shut the game down so maybe it will be there when I relaunch it.

A home business won't allow you to promote someone to manager, only stand-alone businesses can have them.

Call on the phone and you get a selection of like 6 sims...unless there is something I am missing here with the hiring options via the telephone.

I believe the choices for employees works similar to job openings from the newspaper/computer - every night at midnight another random group of potential Sims is available.
337  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No, I don't want a close up of the birth, thanks anyways! on: 2006 March 03, 20:50:11
The ones I already had in my neighborhoods seem to be working just fine.
338  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No, I don't want a close up of the birth, thanks anyways! on: 2006 March 03, 16:45:16
Holding down ctrl + alt lets you place more than one object on the same wall section (e.g. a lamp over a painting). It doesn't help getting the cover over the mailbox.  Undecided
339  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Servo is WAY overpowered.......*Spoiler* on: 2006 March 03, 06:31:59
Do you think once SimPE is updated i'd be able to remesh servo to make him look 100% human?

Or even better, remesh him like Bender and Flexo.
340  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: http://Link Blocked By Linked Site/ on: 2005 October 24, 21:53:30
ie the word "hack" and it's derivatives is banned!

And so are born the words hax0r, h4x0r, |-|/-\}{()|3 (I can't remember how to make an obnoxious R), etc.
341  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: save the trees? on: 2005 October 24, 21:21:18
The whole phone thing with Popularity sims is a pain!  (Easy with AutoYak, but I haven't tried that since NL - has anyone?)

Yup, autoyak works great for me. My Sims are obsessed with calling each other so it makes filling those wants so much easier.
342  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Database IS ready on: 2005 October 24, 20:45:41
What I thought witch was referring to, and at least what I would like to see, is a way to record peronality points such as 6 active/lazy, 4 sloppy/neat, 3 grouchy/nice, etc. instead of just a check box for each trait.

I'd like to see this too, most of my Sims have 5 or 6 points in each trait so they don't really qualify for either personality type but I'd still like to keep track of what their personalities are.
343  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lots that simply won't load... on: 2005 October 24, 05:58:34
boolprop testingcheatsenabled

You're missing the true/false at the end - boolprop testingcheatsenabled true to turn it on, boolprop testingcheatsenabled false to turn it off.

345  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Database IS ready on: 2005 October 23, 05:10:47
Is there any way to retrieve a Sim's maiden/pre-married last name in SimPE? I reinstalled the DB and tracked down just about everything except that little detail. I'm lovin' this program!  Grin
346  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Deleting a custom neighbourhood on: 2005 October 23, 03:40:15
You can either delete the neighborhood in-game by selecting it from the neighborhood browser then clicking the trash can icon to the right, or you can go into the My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods folder and delete the folder itself (you'll need to know which number it is, you could also tell by the neighborhood image). But it sounds like something went wrong with the "change icon" or whatever button for the adjustors. Have you tried asking someone at the InSIMenator website for help?
347  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Database IS ready on: 2005 October 23, 02:08:28
I've run across a problem. I clicked on the reports button and now I can't figure out how to get back to the data entries. Undecided I closed out the program and restarted it, but the only two windows that show now are the generated report and Sims2Partners. I've done something dumb, haven't I?
348  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Database IS ready on: 2005 October 23, 01:43:22
Okay, so it's a great program and pretty straight forward, but am I supposed to enter all my families and information in there, or shouldn't it do it for me?

Read here.

Firefox is free, you should be able to download it directly from the Mozilla website.

Fantastic job, Pegasys! This is exactly what my Sims needed me to have.  Cheesy
