I'm a bit wary that it might be too much for my game to handle, and I sooooo hate crashing to the desktop - I swear one day I'll just have a heart attack and that'll be the end of me!
Why do you say that? I just posted my system specs in the first post, if you are worried about that on yours - for comparison.

Well so far no fish with the fx5200 seems to be the most popular. Next is fx5500. Have you 5200/5500 people tried the shaders code yet? It did fix it for me, as I said.

There is already a community lot collection thing. Two of them, actually. they are at MTS2, but I can't seem to find them at the moment. I only did a quick search though, so you might want to check there.

Have you tried spawning the Sim Modder through testing cheats? It has an option to reset want/fear slots/locks as well as LTW.
Just in case you don't know, though I am sure you do - shift-click on a sim and spawn it there.

Or even easier, go to the EA Games\<latest expansion you have> folder in the start menu, and use the EAsy Info program that comes with all Sims 2 programs. It'll tell you what you have, and perhaps better if you use the above method, what TS2 thinks you have, which may not be the same in some cases.
Can't we just make things complicated, please? It makes me feel more smarter and stuff ![Roll Eyes](/smf/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

OK, that makes sense, and would explain why that was happening. Also, after much experimentation today with dorms, bathrooms, and their configuration, I seem to have found a winner. Someone else has probably figured this out already, but maybe not. I now have one stall and one shower in a single room, one BUY in each. Each door (not each BUY) is gender specific. I leave the toilet paper at the default setting. The best thing about it is that it takes up the same amount of space as a bathroom you would normally make for a dorm. Here's a link to a pic if you are interested. This has been working flawlessly so far. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y249/necrobabe/dormbath.jpg

Yes, I have fish. I am truly embarrased (but dumb enough to admit) that I'm dumb enough to not have a clue what my graphics card is. ![Embarrassed](/smf/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) How's that for a completely non-helpful answer. *sorry, shutting up now* I'm in the same embarassing situation as Elfpuddle. I have fish and no clue as to what my graphics card is. ![Huh](/smf/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Well, if you would like to find out what it is, it is pretty easy to do. Right-click on "MyComputer", select "Properties", click on the "Hardware" tab, then select "Device Manager." Then, click the "+" next to "Display Adapters" to expand it, and it should be listed right there. If there is nothing there, you are probably using the graphics built into your motherboard. If you want to know which driver version you are using, right-click on the display adapter you have listed (if you have one), select properties, then click on the "Drivers" tab. ![Smiley](/smf/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I decided to resurrect all the Goths after all their tombsones disappeared from the graveyard, and then killed them all again and put them back in the graveyard. I had Cassandra resurrect Bella after the gypsy brought her to one of my romance sims for a blind date, and she was part of the family again.

Well, I am having no problems in dorms now since I reduced the number of toilets and showers to 2 per bathroom. I also have extra showers in a different room for each gender. Working perfectly now. It worked with 3 toilets and one shower in the bathroom, but that is not enough for all those stinky dormies.
Pescado, which visitors are not allowed? Is it at all based on their sloppy/neat level, hygene level, and what is available (shower, tub, or combo) based on these things?

I use those too, and the only solutions are to keep BUY in the bathrooms that you only want the family to use, or keep the toilets and the showers/baths in different rooms. Visiting sims are far less likely to get into a competition over a shower than a toilet. Also, if you just put them in some, the visitors will try to get in the shower in a BUY bathroom, but will only use the toilet. They will choose to use the shower/bath in a bathroom without BUY in it with no problems after being kicked out of the one with BUY.

Well, they can make gelatin and crepes suzette, but no layer cake or baked alaska. I have no idea what's wrong, they have maxed cooking skill but still no layer cake.
Are you using the dorm stove? They don't have all the options like the others. You won't be able to make toaster pastries in them either.

does the bathroom controller allow visitors to use showers/tubs? (for home businesses, for example)
It does not let them in my game, even when sims are invited to stay the night. If I leave one bathroom without BUY they will use that one and take a shower. This happens whether or not I have other hacks/mods in my game.

Perhaps the fix doesn't work for everyone because not all cards perform "shading" (whatever that is)?
I wouldn't even know where to look for that ability other than game-specific options. I have all my graphics settings on high - I wonder if that makes a difference?

What is your graphics card? Please list the model and driver version if you can.
GeForce FX5500 256MB 8X AGP Drivers 84.21
For the record (since I just found out) the "boolprop useshaders true" does work for me, but apparently not everyone.
My system specs, just for informational purposes:
AMD Sempron 2600+ (1.83gHz) 1GB RAM Windows XP SP2

From what I have found is that sloppy sims will go to another bathroom if there is only a shower so they can use a tub and not make messy puddles.
I am having a problem with macros, too. And even if I have a roll for each toilet stall in a dorm, they all stand there looking dumbfounded in the bathroom. It also seems if there is only one toilet and one roll, that fairly often a second sim (usually non-playable) will walk into the bathroom and just stand there. If there is only one sim trying to use it there is no problem.
However, there is no way I could live without this in my game - especially in businesses where the non-playables all gather in the smallest space (usually the bathroom or behind the bar) so they can all stand there and scream their heads off because they are all trapped because they are all trying to get in and out at the same time.

The only time I got that message with Johnny and the Grunt boys when I tried to send them to college was when I had the "no adult teens" flavor pack installed while testing with inteen. It only happens with those two households. In Veronaville, inteen will prevent the Summerdream couple from being able to marry.
You will also get, "General Buzz will grow up in just one day at 6:00pm" if you have InTeen installed and have not played the Grunt family yet. It is the premade stories that Maxis embedded in the lots and the characters on them.
