That's why you occasionally delete gossip memories, too. Smiley
Oh, haha.  I guess that would fix the problem...  Though, tracking down townies and npcs to make selectable and clear thier gossip memories might be an issue, at least for me, since I have a crapload of npcs and townies.

No, no, no -- you don't have to do it for each sim individually. Clearing the gossip memories does it from all sims in the hood at once, playable or not.  Or you can just clear it from dead sims.

Do these 'achievements' give you anything that you don't have/get when you play offline?  Or are they just for the lulz? If the former, they may be the only reason to have a legitimate copy of the game.

Is that spaceship firing on the village?  I've seen them come and abduct one of the creatures, but never actually attack them.

Ah, that's why I never noticed it -- I usually use that skillinator option when they're not doing anything else, so I've never seen it stacked...

The 'green blobby things' are her creatures.  The big water monsters are only visible for mere seconds when they come up to comp you, and then only in a 'special event' movie-type thing.

Could you share, pretty please (especially that Klingon one)? Smiley

Well, it can't be in the game itself, because 'babby' is misspelled (or maybe it can be in the game Smiley). Is it ACR?

I've never seen that -- what was the icon for?
309  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Poncy Promenade - why not rent a house instead? on: 2008 September 16, 19:45:07
What a brilliant setup. It never occurred to me that you could create a little housing estate with AL.

One of the lots that comes with AL (found in the lot bin) is a pretty nice duplex that looks like it doesn't require much modification to be really useful.

It's probably an old version of the Phone Controller, then -- that seems to creep into lots sometimes even when the creators are diligent about not using other cc.

I've used Amber's for ages, and I like them very much.  You can find them here

(And I just noticed she's updated them, so I'll have to grab the new ones when I get home later.)

Well, my current copy is seriously borked, so I'm sure I got a corrupted download.  Got a new creature on a new planet to tribal, and had the same problem with the tribal leader locking up.  Fortunately I got a new copy arr'ing, so I should get back to the game soon...
314  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Oh DUDE on: 2008 September 16, 15:45:13
Ah, I wasn't aware that it gets them going inland -- I only had it get them when they went out too far.
315  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Oh DUDE on: 2008 September 16, 13:48:28
Yea, there are big things lurking in the deep. Smiley  They usually migrate to a new nest by around the first brain size increase, if you can keep 'em alive that long.
316  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Lest we forget: SPORE on: 2008 September 16, 13:30:35
I'm still confused as to how you download other people's creatures?

There is two ways.  At the Spore website in the Sporepedia you right click on what you want and save it to the creatures folder.  The other way is in the game if you are able to go online.  Go to the Sporepedia, and under creatures click Search Online.  There is a link under each creation for downloading.

So since I have an arr'ed game I probably shouldn't do the second one?

Right; if you're arr'ed, you can't register and go online.
317  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Lest we forget: SPORE on: 2008 September 15, 22:44:06
No, the cracked exe doesn't come with a pre-genned number; you still have to gen one (or get one) and enter it in during install.  Others in this tread have reported going online successfully with a legitimate game with the no-cd.exe to keep it from installing SecuROM.
318  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Lest we forget: SPORE on: 2008 September 15, 22:32:15
If you use the no-cd.exe and a keygened key, then you can't go online.  If you use it with a legitimate key, you can go online, but you're subject to the 3-installation restriction (I believe).  But you won't have suckrot on your machine.

But I don't think there's any real advantage to going online -- you can search the Sporepedia on the website, and save the creatures/vehicles/whatever that interest you.  Just plop them in the proper sub-directory under 'My Spore Creations' and they'll show up in your game.  They don't always show up in your game's off-line Sporepedia, but I've seen them actually show up in the game itself. But at least that way you have complete control over your game, and aren't stuck with random crap it decides to download on its own.

I decided to start a new planet today (still downloading a new copy in case my original was damaged), and while my carnivores were in creature stage, the pack chased some prey into the ocean.  Didn't get to far when suddenly something BIG came up out of the water and ate them all!  Surprised the hell out of me...

Just what you think smiting WOULD do.  Pick a sim that annoys you and smite them. Smiley
320  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Attack of the Clones on: 2008 September 15, 22:20:50
Somebody reported a similar issue with another sim in the AL Borkedness thread.  Sounds like it may be an insidious AL bug.
321  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2008 September 15, 21:49:06
I don't get bills in dorms. I thought this was an effect of dormbillfix, but it's not in the RTFM. Whatever.

If you play the same dorms long enough, the depreciation of the contents seems to get to the point where the game can't figure out what to charge, so it doesn't charge anything. The mail person comes, stands around a bit, and leaves without leaving any mail.
322  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 September 15, 13:08:34
The other apartments on the lot are supposed to be blacked out - and are in my game.  If they're not, I suspect that you are playing in the wrong premade apartments (some of the premade apartments are glitchy about blacking out, most notably the Cho/Riley lot) or that you've been using build cheats while the lot is occupied.

Oh, so that's what the problem is. The only co-joined lot I played was the Cho/Riley lot. I really should have played with it more before opening my yap about the issue.

The fix for that lot is easy -- have whichever one you're playing visit the other for a bit, and then leave -- the other apartment blacks out properly after that.  Do the same when you play the other one, and everything works fine from then on.
323  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2008 September 15, 02:41:41
Well, they don't actually pay for the whole dorm; they pay for whatever fraction of the dorm is theirs.  8 rooms, they pay 1/8th; 6 rooms, 1/6th. I've never seen dorm bills higher than rental house bills.
324  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Urgh; AL townies breeding like rats! on: 2008 September 15, 02:25:59
I think Pescado said way back sometime that you could go as high as 10,000 without to many issues.  Personally, I'd hate to see a hood that big, but there ya go. Smiley
325  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Going to School on: 2008 September 15, 02:24:17
FYI, the latest version of 'alfixes' (posted today) takes care of this issue -- I suggest downloading it.
