I don't have anybody coming over now when I talk to them on the phone but of course I am calling them because I have the ringer set to off.   thank heaven, I can finally install phones in my house again  but what I really miss it the taxi hack part of it.

 Now when you go downtown in your car, you have to take all of the sims or only one.   or if you want to take another member of your family you have to ask them to go on an outing with you. 

  I hope JM can make it where that when you get into the car you can choose who to take  with you.    that would be way cool.

what is a heatsink, does it come with the fan?

by the time I buy that and a more ram,  video card I will be broke forever, but my computer is only 3 years old and I payed 1,200 for the tower alone,  and I already spent a lot of money installing more memory  and 1 new video card  or I would just by a new one but I am not ready to give up on this one yet.   

I now have 4 party guests without using the intProp cheat,  I did it by editing the graphic rules sgr,  I went from the maxi default for NL to
High cpu 2000
med  cpu 1800
low  cpu 1000

that is what I set mine on.  I also was flipped out when I opened the game and there was a house next door showing, I always had the option to enable it, it was not greyed out or anything before, but it was set to off by default before I edited the graphic rules file.

You have to edit it both in config and in Csconfig.

I do have a question though, if the default high in maxi is 2800, does that transalate to 2.8Gigahertz proccessor speed?

well, they managed to keep that little secret to themselves before releasing NL.   

I mean how many of the young kids and us seniors who only get paid once a month can afford to buy a new computer with that fast a proccessor?

My count has only bitten one sim randomly.  I had him bite this lady who wanted to be a vampire when he came to visit.

 But the next time she invited him over he went into the kitchen and bit one of my teenagers,   she seemed quit pleased though,  all of my knowledge sims want to be vampires.   bleh.   

um well er, it seems to need a little more work.  I had the same thing happen when I used it, I set it on 5 but it just kept on ringing off the hook, but that is not the weird part, all three of my sims were talking to different people on their cellphones and then they hung up and I had them eat and go to bed.  Next thing I know, two of them are out of bed, so I am outside looking for tombstones, thinking that a ghost woke them up but I couldn't find any tombstones, so I go back into the house and there are two of the people that they were talking to, one was walking up the steps and one was upstairs already playing pinball.  I guess the all-in-one NPC let them in because I have her turned on to greet all doorbell ringing sims.   But the other options work, call a date, call repair, manage groups etc, so you are getting close.    I am so happy.  I will be willing to test any further updates for you.   thank JM, you rock.

I got into my performance and settings options in my nvidia control center and changed some of the settings,  I had no clue as to what I was doing but anyway my graphics look better and I can play again in 800x600 resolutions again which is great on the old eyes.     

maybe I won't have to buy a new card just yet.   

I will, I will,  I have removed almost all of my phonesfrom the game,  the phone ringing is driving me batty too.

 I even hate my own phone at home.   I have an unlisted number and the rest of the time I let the machine pick it up.   

I am going to get the new card, have it installed and pray for the best.    I have the AMD Athlon too with 120 gig ultra hard drive.

no, I already have 128 FX 5200 NVIDIA,  now I am going to upgrade to 256MB card.   but the other man said that no matter what card you have,  NL will not let you have more than two people for a party.
 But when I use the cheat with the current card I have, it makes my game slow down.

I hate what they have done to the sims with NL, people don't know if they need to upgrade their hardware or if the game is  messing everything up,   

 I just know my graphics look weird since NL, also I cannot enable  the picture in picture,  because it resets back to off as soon as I do.

I can get this one for about 70.00.    I just want to be able to invite more than two people to a party,  I used to be able to invite 8.  and I want my download clothes to not look weird with square shoulders like before I installed NL.

I don't think I need more ram because I have a gig of ram and winxpro and a 2MGHertz processor.  So, I must need  more ram in my video card.   

thanks you guys are so nice but believe me I can't install my own video card.   I  bought a stick of ram last year and was gonna install it myself.  I read all the directions and even bought a wrist strap, well it took me forever to get the case open and when I did  I could not even find the slot because I was afraid to undo the cables because I might not get them reconnected right, so I called the tech shop and said "hurry up and send me a man over here, I have this case open and I don't know what to do"   He got there in about 10 minutes and he charged me 70.00   

but in a way it was funny too, there I stood with my little wrist strap on and I was lost and confused.   
 

I have that same card that I just bought for UNI and it was great.  I could even run the game in 800x600 which is better for the middle age eyes.   


 but now with NL, the graphics suck.    I have had to go to a higher resolution and the little tiny icons are making me blind.   
 
 I am going to buy a new card with 256Mb of ram,  I guess I will get another Nvidia because it is the only card I have ever tried.      I hope I can get a decent one for about a hundred, twenty because I have to pay to get it installed too.   The sims and EA are sending me to the poor house.   

I am still using the old version of nobuskers and I havn't noticed any ill affects,

 besides I have to have it,  if not that darn stupid nanny will play the instruments all day when the baby is asleep and she can't carry a tune in a bucket.

thanks everybody I thought it was just me, but actually the hairdo does not look like a hat to me,  I thought it was a bow in her hair.   Oh, well silly me,  that what I get for thinking. 

has this happened to anyone else,  you know the new hair in NL with the bow in it,  well I noticed that when this townie came to visit who had that hairdo, when she got in the hot tub it turned into a ponytail and stayed that way and then when I saw her again downtown in her normal clothes it was the bow hair.

so, I tried an experiment and I made 4 ladies all with the new uni bow hair and I put them on an empty lot, they all had default clothes and no user  created make-up.

so, I put a hot tub on the lot and as soon as they got in their hair turned into a ponytail.  Did Maxi make it that way?

yesterday some lady called one of sims up to meet her downtown and he got in the cab and left but when he got downtown the  live mode was greyed out,

 so I had to go back to the neighborhood without saving and  there he was getting out of the cab   

My photos are disappearing and I have read that others have had the same problem,

 I Know that they are not put into the neighborhood, storytelling like in UNI but in the regular storytelling folder in mydocs/sims2/storytelling. 

 I have a few that show up but most of the pictures I take while on a downtown lot are not  showing up in any of my folders, they just simply disappear.     thanks

I second that, please don't sidetrack him,  I just want my phone to stop ringing and saying "You haven't called lately"    

 I wish I wish I had an option that said "I don't give a big flying f.  Just stop calling.      

I don't have one phone in any of my houses since installing NL and losing the JT phone hack.

 
I have read about this problem on three forums and some of the people who are having it do not have any hacks.   I hate the disappearing sims.  I think it is a maxi bug.   My sims even if they do purchase the potion, if  they see somebody they like, they will get the icon of that person and the icons of all 10 love potions and if you try to cancell it out so they will only drink one, then they disappear off the lot, their icon and all.   I am not letting my sims buy anymore love potions until somebody figures this one out.

someone made a hack to try and fix this but the people who have tried the hack say that their sims are still disappearing even with the hack installed.

well, I think that maxi should send you a free one before it comes out to the public, considering you have to fix everything that they mess up.

I saw a cute post in another forum the other day, it said  "how many hacks do you think it wil take JM to make miss Crumplebotton work right? "   and another person said  "I heard that JM was Miss Crumplebottom"     

Please, please  more awesome than me or anybody else on the planet,  please make my phone stop ringing.   I know it will take a while to get all the new hacks out but please do the phone first and I will  forever  bow at your feet, most awesome one.                              thanks. 

It's unclear to me also, I had some hacks that were working but when I started the game up again, it said  to disable the maxi made objects, the fru fru lion and the cherub statue, so then when I started the game again, the hacked objects were missing and I downloaded the car that I got with my code and it never did show up in any folder.

  I unistalled NL already, I can live without any hacks but JT's phone hack, that dam phone started ringing of the hook and I couldn't take it anymore.  I will reinstall it later, in a few weeks when everything is figured out.   

my sim did not get a taxi after he graduated.   I had him call a taxi  and it never came.

 I know you have a fix for it but I don't know which one it is.
