301  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 15, 05:59:08
No problems in my game with them so far - and my computer sucks. I haven't played with all the settings yet mind you.

Did you get Numenor's new lights? purrrrrty

Damn all of you and this thread. I had it all in the custom bin!

*goes back to catagorizing*
304  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Squiggly Lines of Doom!! on: 2006 January 13, 18:54:47
I'm right handed, not a twin, and can't afford any insurance because all my monthly wages go to my MATY subscription fee.
305  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Squiggly Lines of Doom!! on: 2006 January 13, 15:49:05
In the case of my squiggly lines, I believe it was a memory that was owned by an "unknown". Where this memory came from is a mystery to me. The sim pictured above is the only one in the whole hood that had this memory. I could not find any dupes in the hood. There has been only 1 death ( that of the founder). I have nocorruptdeath installed and have had it since before the creation of this hood.

Random wonk ala Maxis I suppose.

I'm sure I was being overly paranoid about it blowing up my game but I know those particular lines have been related to implosions in the past and wanted to get rid of it before it spread.

307  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NOW what did I do wrong? on: 2006 January 13, 15:24:32
I've had the wrong thumbnail in the bin many times. Deleting the thumbnails.cache always fixes it for me.

I have no idea what would cause sims not to show up at all though.  Undecided
308  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Squiggly Lines of Doom!! on: 2006 January 13, 05:48:22
I appreciate the help there, ZZ. I wouldn't have known what to look for otherwise as I thought the lines had only to do with deaths.

I found 1 owned by unknown memory and 1 invisible with nothing attached to it on that particular sim and am weeding through to clean out the rest of the neighborhood.

FBVFOS may have been deflected. Wink

309  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Squiggly Lines of Doom!! on: 2006 January 13, 05:25:42
I'll start searching.

It's a new hood - about 4 sim weeks old - that wasn't played a day without MATY fixes (critical and otherwise) so to see this shocked me.
310  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No autonomous kicky bag or pillow fight? on: 2006 January 13, 04:55:21
I believe Targa has done those exact hacks over at MTS2.

No idea if they've been made compatible with Nightlife.
311  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Graphics question on: 2006 January 13, 04:48:55
I also run into the problem with objects rather than sims. I have a Nvidia GeForce 5200 FX (It looked good way back when I bought it) and tried tweaking things according to the posts above. Things looked good but it slowed my game performance way down.

I have finally come to grips with the reality that my computer sucks.

March 3rd = Alienware baby.

Impending FBVFOS.  Cry
I recall vague references to this little thought bubble and what it means for the future of my 'hood. Anyone able to give a full explanation and ..ahem.. HELP!

313  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Never Met = Best Friends. bug? on: 2006 January 09, 17:28:55
It's not the idea behind the drama professor falling in love instantly that bothers me at all, mind you. What I find annoying about the whole thing is that said professor's memory panel gets filled up with "lost best friend" memories. Spammed. Literally. After every interaction. So looking at that professor's memories with JC you get "Met JC Abbott" "Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend""Lost JC Abbott as a best friend"

etc.

Other than that I think it's a rather cute little inclusion. Great for.. drama. heh.
314  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Never Met = Best Friends. bug? on: 2006 January 09, 05:26:55
Why yes she was a drama professor!

Ha! *hugs hacks folder* I knew it couldn't have been my precious shinies.

Wow but how annoyingly fubarred is that??? I mean I can see the idea behind it but with all the problems that have already come from too many memories Maxis goes with "hey lets add more spam!!" Huh
315  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Never Met = Best Friends. bug? on: 2006 January 09, 05:14:44
Wondering if anyone has encountered this or something like it in their game. I did a hack test (yanked them all out and tried again) and it seems to actually be a base game "feature" and not a result of any conflicts from mods/hacks but I could be wrong and would like to see what others have found.

I was giving dizzy2's callanyone hack a try. With it installed I had JC call a previously unknown to him Professor and chat a bit. Since JC is working on his 20 simultaneous lovers LTW, he chatted her up a while and then I had him invite her over. Here's where we noticed something was off.

He greeted her at the door and she immediately tries to give him a romantic hug (not friendly). Their relationship score on his side was at 27/5 so I thought that was a bit odd. When he rejected her, the little lost best friend icon floated up over her head.

eh?

So A few more interactions (with some +'s) and she's spamming the lost best friend floaties. So I quit, load up SimPE and check the relationship out. On her side it's 100/100 (and the darkened green) and she's flagged for friends/best friends/crush/lover  Huh So I adjust her side of things to match his side of things, unflag everything, pull the callanyone hack out and load back into game.

First interaction they get +'s and everything looks normal. So he cooks up some dinner and they sit down for some chow and conversation. She starts spamming the lost best friend floaty again after every relationship boost.
So I quit without saving, pull my entire hacks folder out, and load up SimPE again. The relationship on her side is 100/100 and she's flagged for lover/crush/best friend/friend. I readjust, load back into the game, and try again.

And again 1 interaction goes normal and then she starts spamming the lost best friend floaties.  Angry

So I move her butt into the house to clear her frigging memories and send her the bin.
----

I've searched around but only found a mention here of something that seemed similar involving Santa in the Who's getting the x-mas pack thread but I don't think it was quite the same thing.

So has anyone else seen anything like this previously in their game, or read about it anywhere? Since it occurred with all my hacks yanked I'm fairly certain it's not a conflict somewhere but confirmation would be good. I'm not positive it wasn't something caused by the call anyone hack that just didn't "fix" after pulling it out.

Alright then just to make sure I have this alphebetical order load correct:

I have my Hacks directory. Inside that folder I have all "single" hack .packages (such as JMs ffs hacks and TJ's hacks and your hacks etc) then I have subfolders for CboyNudist, InTeen and a couple others. Am I correct that the game will load all the single .packages first and then the sub folders after that? So I need to put this one in a subfolder alphabetized after CBoy, right? Until recently I only had about 5 hacks that never had any conflicts so I never much paid attention to the order. I'm up to 83 now, at least half of which I can't stand to play without so I suppose I better get on the ball.

I understand the frenzy but not in a modding sense. Happens with building for me.  It's rare for me to  play any family for more than a few sim hours before it turns into an architectural frenzy because I needed the right space for that friggin counter...

I should have seen that last comment coming.  Tongue
317  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2006 January 08, 23:40:18
Some concrete of my own, for the record:  I use InTeen (v.1.3i at the moment and have had previous versions as well) and have never had a problem. Of course... I RTFM(s) and don't use mods that obviously conflict with it. It works with all the MATY, SimLogical, and various other hacks I have. I don't have every single hack available on this site installed. A select many though, including teh FFS Debugger and I notice nothing weird/off/wrong.

Jase, you know how AWESOME (that's right I said it) your work is so stuff some cotton in the mouths of those who would install a french-fry and strawberry shake on their HD if someone said they could use it to hit "enter" and eat and keep on.  Many of us love your work.

The "No Adult Teens" flavor pack for InTeen prevents this "perk".

Any chance you could make a version of this without the sleep naked option/cboynude conflicts? If it's not too much of a pita? I use CBoy's nudist, the option to sleep naked is kind of redundant with that one available.

Beyond that I'll waste some space saying WooHoo for you, Syberspunk. You've picked up on this hack business and gotten on a mad roll. Keep em coming. Maybe we'll see a little room for you under CBoy some day. Wink
321  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you change NPC's clothing on: 2006 January 08, 15:38:41
Thanks for sharing the links.

Not to hijack ( Undecided ) but would simply changing the hair using mind control cause a problem with the reverting? Never been big for fiddling with npc's... never really had a reason to until Mr. Clean showed up.
Although I have to say I'm starting to prefer the bald look on this particular man-maid.

How I love AllenABQ's facial templates. I'm quite sure without them this guys nose would have been the size of South America.
322  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you change NPC's clothing on: 2006 January 08, 01:31:06
1) Where did you find the unlocked career outfits (being lazy tonight. Though I'm sure a search of MTS2 would find it.. I'm one of those alcoholics going for eggs types, too)

2) Does the COA panel allow to change hair style as well? I recently deleted some default Maxis hairs that were made custom for use on kids and toddlers and now my maid is bald.  Shocked
323  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Downloads Cleanup = Oi! on: 2006 January 05, 02:47:43
At the end of all my cleaning up and going back for more redownloads because I'm an addict (fersure).. I discovered it wasn't at all the amount of downloads I had. It was 1 object.

I'm back up to over 5K downloads again and still running smooth as owl-poo.

So it likely is just some bad downloads flowerchile. Best of luck finding it.
324  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Downloads Cleanup = Oi! on: 2006 January 01, 06:30:34
Woops! Apologies.

The S is invisible really!
325  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Downloads Cleanup = Oi! on: 2006 January 01, 03:22:57
Alright alright.

Nice outline of the process, Zephyr.
Do note he's left out that you'll need toothpicks for your eyelids, a lot of Dew, and perhaps one of those squishy stress balls nearby.

For myself, I'm done for now.
Downloads knocked down to 4,174 files, 1.43GB; 918 files and 305MB of which are objects. Walls and floors not included. I.. er.. guess I'm more of a fashion freak than I ever intended to be.  Shocked
Game running smoothly. Now I'm wondering if maybe it wasn't so much the number of downloads but perhaps some conflicting objects.. or maybe some huge file sized ones. *shrug* Either way I'm happeh with things again and only had to force myself to forget about a few doors, windows, stairs, fences..... *weep*

Good luck with your cleanup as well, Jean!
