This just sends a cold chill down my spine, I'm still getting over all the cock-ups from the Xmas pack which I had to remove - £15.99 straight down the drain. I still haven't bought OFB yet as my game's playing well right now (thanks MATY ) so I'll be giving this one a definate miss. What holiday pack stuff screw up ur game? I only have one problem with it. The santa. Other than that, everything else is ok. No major bugs reported regarding that holiday pack either. A friend of mine even claims his santa is functioning PERFECTLY. Having dinners with the family instead of breaking toilets. I dunno if I believe him though.

I give them free food and music so I thought I shld charge them lol. Anyway, I replace the ticketing machine with Igne's pay loos and buffet table. I wish I could charge them $100 for using the loos not $10, sighs! But I don't understand why my townies don't ahve bottomless pits of $$$ like you mentioned in another thread, Motoki. My townies don't have $20k to buy my super rare kimono

Yeah, I don't like the forums there much now (used to when I am new but not now when I am seasoned ). It's too surreal..everyone is so nice... it get tiring after a while. But the stories and the challenges forums are my favs. The stories there are one of a kind and very talented people (not all are talented) write there. ETA: Their definition of PG 13 is too rigid. They said "rape" is a adult theme. Blast! I mean, every 12 years old kid and onwards should know what rape and molest is so that they will know what it is and how to protect themselves against it and they are rallying both are adult themes! Drugs, yes but rape references, no.

Bleh, if you look the deco in the room, the stuff doesn't even match! Its hideous! A green princess bed, bleh bleh.
I am not believing we can read to a group of kids. With Maxis, that sounds too good to be true so to quote JM, its fiction.

Motoki, thanks but I am not getting the kitten killer. I seriously have waay too many hacks in my game. I only use the ones from here now. I grow the tot up to see her adult face. That's how I know she looks exactly like her dad. To confirm, I even go into CAS and generate the female version of daddy. And yea, as alike as 98% the 2% is the eye color inherited from maternal grandma.

Most of the new objects are ripped from FA at TSR...remember CycloneSue's roofs (they appear in OFB), Windkeeper and Echo's rugs...etc. I just don't want to recite the list. Next they'll be copying kitchen paper towels from them and hairs with curls (which they already have in OFB, come to think of it) ... If you want toilet paper, you can get them from Reflex Sims. I got a nice roll from there And yeah no paying of $20 for me either. I am going to get it from a friend. After all, there is probably no serial number I rather donate my $20 to Numenor or give it to JMP etc and that would be 100% more worth my money's value than wiping Maxis' ass with it.

You are right. Based on earlier advice from here, I remove the blasted ticketing machine. And the customers have stopped walking off the lot with the purchases. But I have new issues Stock sighs keep 'flying' everywhere else on the lot. It shouldn't happen when I am using Numenor's "Less" hack for putting cc objects on shelves but it did. I had to use boolprop several times yesterday And I present a super rare handmade 100% silk Kimono to a townie. It costs $20k. Guess what the townie said! She doesn't have enough money! Several other townies said the same thing ! I am shocked. Why can't I sell a $20k Kimono when JM sells $50k Servos? The dough is finally coming in now so much so that the manager got so busy he quitted on me Lastly, why the ticketing machine is no good for retails and only good for clubs?

Yes, the genetics of the facial characteristics are confusing. I used to be under the impression that once a certain feature, say, and eye shape, is labelled dominant, it stays dominant throughout the generations (that's what it says in the guide... ). But then I noticed that when Brandi had her third son, a male clone of herself, his listed dominant facial features differed from hers. So, apparently, the dominance of each feature is reassigned for each sim, and an eye shape that got inherited as dominant may turn recessive, and so on.
I just checked the guide on this. (Keeping in mind that the guide has inaccrurate information on some other genetics issues) it says that, when a sim is made in CAS, each region of the face is randomly labeled dominant or recessive, but the chances of a certain feature to be labeled dominant depends on the gender of the sim. A male sim has a 66% chance of his brow, nose or jaw being labeled dominant, and "only" a 50% chance with eyes and mouth. Vice versa for females (but there are more features listed in the DNA in SimPE than these five mentioned, so it's incorrect at least in that regard).
About the chances of the features being passed on, the guide says that if one parent has a dominant feature while another recessive the child has a 66% chance of inheriting the dominant one. When both are dominant or recessive, then the chances are 50/50.
But, considering how correct the guide has been on some other issues, I wouldn't count on this information.
Thanks for typing this out. I think the guide might be correct in some of the points above. It is possible that recessive genes can become dominant. For instance, green colored maxis eyes. The grandmother (mother's side) have green colored eyes and it was passed on to the grandchild when both parents have customised eye colors (so here its 50%-50%, I suppose) . But other than that, every other feature of the father was passed onto the baby girl - nothing was passed from the beautiful mother to the child. The child look ugly ( actually she looks realistic and might be considered pleasant looking in RL but since we are playing a game of dolls, i want my dolls to be perfect) and now I am thinking of a pool accident. Its very strange. I noted that when the child inherit a particular skin color of a parent, the child will inherit all facial features of the parent whom it inherit the skin color. I don't know if these 2 are related but I have several instances of this occuring. This is getting extremely disturbing for me...

From what I know, the inheriting of facial characteristics does not depend on the gender of the child, but rather which features each parent has labelled dominant. A dominant feature has something like a 60% chance of being passed on. With each sim, the chances of a feature being labelled dominant or recessive depends on their gender, yes. So, a female sim has a higher chance of her eyes being dominant, for example. So, she has a higher chance of passing on her eye shape to her kids, either male or female.
Finally I am getting the answer I need. How about the rest of the features such as jaw shape, ear, lips etc? Where did you get the above info from? Where can I find out more? Thanks!

Maybe they're autonomously buying them from kiosks now. Having two cellphones is good, though: When a sim draws his cellphone, it gets removed from his inventory, which means you can't queue a second call while the first is in progress, unless you give him a second cellphone, which also suppresses the possibility that "buy a cellphone" appears while it's in his hand!
thanks for the suggestion but one cellphone is enough to drive me nuts in RL and in Sims. So One is way more than enough

Mayhaps, Motoki, the same thing happened to your sim that happened to one of mine. A sim married her professor. His hair is brown, hers is blonde, and their baby has blonde hair. I don't know enough about messing with genetics to have created that on purpose, so it seems to have been a fluke.
Sometimes townies have dyed hair. If you want to be really sure of their hair color, you have to check them in SIMPE. That's the only sure way to make sure what their hair color really is.

Another thing to note is that for old neighborhoods, at SOME point in the distant past, all sim genetics got munged, and sims all became homozygous for whatever they visibly had. I think there was a thread about this, and nobody ever entirely figured out why this happened, but I recently discovered it in my neighborhood via SimDNA, and had to reconstruct everyone's genetics back to genesis again by hand. Some people actually had to be changed when I discovered that with any correct sequence, the outcome they had would have been impossible.
so you mean color of hair etc? But for me, I have no problems with color of hair, color of eyes. Its the shape of the lips, the shape of the jaw etc. Does the game mess this up in old neighbourhoods? This is a very old neighbourhood with more than 5 generations in it. I consider that as old. Motoki, I had this happened before too. Have you checked the mom in SimPE? Maybe that will shed some light.

It's hard yes if you play normal gameplay. If you power game and use exploits or only look at the maximum efficiency then sure it's easy. Selling craftables will never be profitable to any significant degree with the possible exception of servos but even he takes so long to make that it offsets the selling price. Actually, I make a killing off of selling craftables. You just need to jack up prices to make it worthwhile. At, oh, say, about $50K a Servo, you can make a decent killing off of them. And $50K is certainly what I consider a fair price for one! Since you are here, oh so awesome one, can you tell us how you get the sim to buy a $50k Servo (WITHOUT cheating). I mean, I am having difficulty getting them to buy a $145 (cheap) Japanese Fan or fotune cat! And yeah my morale is all time low now.
