When I've taken my sims to another playable's store to buy something, they will go to the register on their own. Then the playable sim who owns the store (though I'm not controlling them) will ring them up. Just let your sim stand at the register for a moment, eventually the other sim will ring them up. I haven't played the owner's lot yet, so I don't know if he gained customer loyalty or if the stock is really out. I know that while at the store, restock markers came up whenever someone purchased something and the owner (who I wasn't controlling at the moment) would try to restock the items, but b/c there wasn't anything in his inventory, a messgage came up saying he couldn't. He also went to make more robots on his own.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / No 1st business memory?

Did anyone notice that when a sim purchases a deed to a business by someone selling it to them (real estate office), they don't get an "opened 1st business" memory? My sims that started a home business or bought a lot over the phone have this memory but the ones that purchased it via the real estate office from another sim don't have the memory. They have the deed in their inventory but not the memory of starting it. Strange.

okay, for parties/wedding, etc. it may get some use. I guess for real sloppy sims that leave plates on the floor and puddles from showers (although not recommend), this bot may come in handy. I haven't worked my way up to servo yet. I'm thinking of having my Mad Scientist making a whole warehouse full of them. Between them and the sentry bots, I'm envisioning an I-Robot type of takeover. (yeah I know, big dreams... )

And letting it pick up puddles is a bad idea. Really. The purpose of them is to sell them to dumb townies. Lol, I said that to myself when I realized it really wasn't going to do anything usefull; This is the kind of crap to push off on those townies.

Okay, I could be missing something but what exactly is the purpose of the cleanbot? If it doesn't clean the toilets, showers, dishes, take out the trash, empty the potty, etc. then what good is it? How often is there a puddle on the floor or trash? and picking up old newspapers, that's only 1x a day. Am I missing some of the features or uses? Otherwise this is totally a useless bot.

Inge has a couple new shinys that might be of interest The Employee Token You use one token per employee and can preset times for them to start and stop work. This needs to be used in conjunction with the Automatic Open/Close sign and will only summon employees when the latter is in Auto mode. http://www.simlogical.com/Wow, I was just thinking about requesting a hack for this yesterday! I thought it would be to complicated to do or take a long time since you have to take into consideration your playable sims that work at another's lot. (goes to show that's why I'm not a programmer but a tester )

So if you teleport your sim to a business to buy something, they have to have the money-order trigger in their inventory, otherwise they won't be able to buy?

Charging at the door hasn't been working to well for me. I have one comm. lot business, arcade/dancehall that I started with charging $70 then went down to $50 but only one or two sims pay to enter. I'm using the Bluewater arcade lot and I remodeled it a little and included a DJ booth. My sims has gained sales badges from trying to interest people, but they won't pay. What's the problem? I also tried throwing a pay-party. I had my sim throw a house party on the phone and put a ticket machine out front charging $20. The person I invited to the party, even stopped to consider to pay. The music was playing and food was out but again no one entered.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Complaining on a date?
|
on: 2006 March 13, 19:50:14

I had one of my sims, who has a home business, go on a date with one of her loyal customers. The date was in her house but the business was closed. A little into the date, she put out a bag of chips on the counter and he started to "complain" to her. She proceeded to talk to him and reassure him, they both gained relationship points. Anyway, is this some sort of bug? Why is the "complain" interaction coming up when the business wasn't even open? (this is pretty realistic to do on a date, though...maybe he wanted a home cooked meal? )

The fasterbuyclothes hack is not working the way it used to. Now, no matter where a sim is standing if you click on a clothes rack the clothes choser will appear and they will pull a pile of clothes out of the air (even through objects & other sims) and walk to a changing both. Before they would at least walk over to a rack before the clothes choser would appear. Should be resolved now. Looks good.
