TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: bugs ive noticed.. any help please?

Look at the cats trained behaviors, she/he is probably trained to eat sim food. If this is the case place a plate of food on the floor or counter and when the cat eats it scold her/him. If the hunger is dangerously low, I'd wait until it is mostly full before scolding. Continue to do this until you can click on the bowl and Call to eat...(cat's name). When the cat eats out of the bowl praise him/her.
Search the forum about the pet job problem. Others have mentioned it, but I didn't have the problem so I don't know how it was solved.
And only advise I can offer about the collars is to be sure you are using an non-custom floor mirror. Again you might do a search, I vaguely remember someone mentioning something about them.

It is my understanding that the environment scores of both walls and floors are set by the price. Which is why even lovely custom walls and floors that are free or cheap, tank a rooms environment score.
Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I have no phone funkiness. I walk alone.
Does this mean you have no hacks in your game? If this is the case, I'd say go with the suggestion to force an error on either the sim or on the phone, in case they are glitched somehow. Or check your downloads with the Clean Installer to be sure you haven't picked up a hack without your knowledge. Most commonly occurring when downloading lots.

Or you can turn on the "boolprop controlpet true" and "boolprop petactioncancel true" and simply X out the action in the pet's queue. I rarely actually direct the pets, but I have the cheats in my userstartup.cheat file so I can do things like this.

Inge, I'm not sure if you've collected all of the data you needed, but last night I discovered that an assumption I had made about puppies was incorrect. Because Maxx, hadn't exhibited any behaviours which could be praised or scolded to encourage "Calm" or "Disruptive", I assumed that it was a behaviour group that would need to be addressed after he became an adult. But on his last day as a puppy I finally had the option for my Sim to praise him for calmly sniffing. Though I did have to wait for him to age to adult before the Sims in his household could encourage cleanliness, and playfulness. Oh, and to discourage him from being destructive.

It may train them to be playful (as oppsed to hostile) towards others, but unlike Sim children, I don't believe you can actually influence a Sim pets personality. Look to see if the thumbnail of the puppy has the small circle icon when they are being nuzzled, if it does, you should be able to have your Sims praise for being playful.

I think eamethyst was just talking about using elevators. Sims can carry a puppy/kitten up a set of stairs if one exists, but if there is only an elevator (assuming eamethyst was testing floor-to-floor using only elevators and no stairs), it apparently doesn't work.
Yes, she lives in a house with 2 elevators and no staircases. If someone knows what I did wrong, I would like to have the puppy sleep in a dog bed in the master bedroom. Like I said I directed her to pick up the puppy, and then clicked on a spot in her room and told her to "go here." It would be nice if you got the option to "Put (puppy/kitten) here", like you do with toddlers and babies.

I've only just had my founding sim of a new neighborhood adopt her first puppy. From my observation, a puppy can't play with the chew toy, jump on the furniture, destroy furniture, or use an elevator. The Prima guide indicated that a sim could carry a puppy/kitten in an elevator, but when I instructed my sim to pick up the puppy, then go to her 3rd floor bedroom, she picked the puppy up, set the puppy down and them went to her bedroom. They can be trained to eat pet food (eat Sim food), pee outside (pee inside), stay off furniture (I assume get on furniture, but again, they can't jump onto furniture), and stay off Sim beds (Sleep on Sim beds, though they would have to be placed on Sim beds, and I haven't tested that to see if it's possible.)

I knew my sister had lived in the South for too long when she wrote "y'all" in a letter.
I am sorry to say I have nothing to add to the original discussion. I've been concentrating on getting a sim financially ready to devote all of her attention to fully training dogs (maybe cats later) and just had her adopt her first puppy. Once I have had a chance to breed, I may have more of relevance to add. (But probably not)

I actually discovered this when I was playing Pleasantview and Nina (Caliente) Lothario popped just as her carpool pulled up at the curb. It times just right that she got the Go to Work in her que before the maternity leave message could squash it. The next day I decided to try sending her and it worked. Luckily mine have always been wearing clothes when they left.

I've been able to send pregnant sims to work, if they own their own car, since OFB. It seems to me they would then actually receive 2 times the pay, the maternity leave and their regular salary. Once or twice I did this to allow a pregnant sim to get that PermaPlat inducing final promotion. I restarted my game after installing Pets and haven't had any pregnant sims since.

I also share a computer with a sister who plays Sims (I often regret showing her how to get started). We have seperate logins and seperate games. I couldn't play this game if I was constantly worried that she would get into my neighborhoods and mess up all my hard work. Our computer runs Windows XP.
And I'd like to know more about the Shared Documents folders. It would save me time if I could put the mods we both use into 1 location instead of 2 different folders. I got excited about the possibility of streamlining my updating and didn't even realize there was a second page to this post. Please ignore.

I was going from memory myself (I'm at work and the guide is at home). I just remember it was saying something about if the pet couldn't get into the humans carpool, the pet carpool would come for both the human and pet.

I'm afraid I have nothing to offer in way of solutions, but I just wanted to say, Mistyblue, that house is lovely from the outside. I hope you get the roofs (rooves? Spell check in Work doesn't like either) sorted out, because the shallower roof pitch does enhance the overall effect.

I think the guide actually said Pets can't ride in some carpools, I assumed they meant the helicopters, and maybe the hummers that the military career uses.
On a related note, has anyone else seen a new little blue sports car pick up their pets? The dog in question was in the entertainment career and I had never noticed that type of car before.
