TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Kitchen & Bath hair

I know this has been up forever, but I've finally decided that even though I'm probably the only person that still doesn't have KBID I needed to post about this:
This has only ever had a teen version for me, no adult as advertised. Today I finally learned a little about meshes so I could remove default replacement with one. So I popped the mesh open for this as well to have a look and see if I could figure out why it doesn't work. The first thing I noticed is that the all the resources in the mesh file claim to be for either the working teen ages, or for child! Of course, I double checked the texture file and found that the property sets were all set for teen and up. To make sure I didn't have some incomplete mesh intended to give this hair to children, I redownloaded from both links above, and the files were exactly the same as the ones I'd already had. I also opened up BodyShop with all of my downloads pulled with the same results, the teen hair showing, but the adult not (it was base long instead, as normally shows when a mesh is missing).
Is that really a child mesh, or just labeled that way for when you were extracting it? Would it be possible to get this with an adult mesh properly linked to the textures?

Well the .reia file is just a recorded video of the scripted flythrough. As Nepheris said, if you move that file, you are merely associating the video file with another neighborhood. Where the flythrough data is kept, I have no idea. It seems it's tied to certain neighborhood names. Calling any neighborhood (even existing ones) Pleasantview, Strangetown, Veronaville, Riverblossom Hills, Desiderata Valley, Belladonna Cove, Sedona, Europa or Lakeview will create their own individual flythroughs (the last one is very glitchy though). Apparently some other names create one as well, but they appear to be inconsistent.
This is interesting information, I may have to attempt to make a Sedona, Europa and a Lakeview to see these flyovers. I wonder if they were at one time intended for extra base neighborhoods or perhaps foreign game releases, or if they planned on making one for each terrain then decided to link them to the neighborhood name (probably for ease sake). Either way, looks like an idea EAxis abandoned in earlier development.

Is something wrong with Mediafire ? The page doesn't show the download link, only (for a long long time) "Processing download request..."
I'm getting this too. Actually, I often get this crap from Mediafire and it's very frustrating. How long does one usually need to wait before checking back will actually produce a different result? Usually, I just give up and never download whatever it was I was trying to get, but I really want the screen/art. I get this most of the time in my Fx browser, but usually just refreshing the page fixes it for me.

If a clever modder could re-implement the process from Tuna's notes, I think that would be really cool. Would likely work best if combined with the FFS privateschoolbillfix.

Is there any way that instead of having a deposit and refund of existing fixtures in an apartment, instead there is no refund on anything upon move out? No. This aspect of the game is hardcoded. Furthermore, you could manually delete these items, either to upgrade them, or to sell them, and receive the bonus cash even without moving out. And, anything they lose because they were stupid and left it behind was clearly sold and profited the owner of the apartments (since it would likely not remain next time the apartment is rented, either). Or it was sold, you know, for cash. Because it's credited to their move-out. Well, if the selling of the objects in the apartment is hardcoded, and therefore unchangable, then of course the rest of the thought process becomes invalid, heh.

Moving sims out of an apartment does not delete the pre-existing items from it, even if they are being credited for resell value, so I'd rather they get no refunds at all. And, anything they lose because they were stupid and left it behind was clearly sold and profited the owner of the apartments (since it would likely not remain next time the apartment is rented, either).

I don't know if it will work with this particular object, but Bobcatben made a mod (regular and Inteen versions) to make a change in skintone "permanent", as he has a collection of skintone changing potions on Genesims. I don't think his potions or this item affect the sim's actual genetic code, but it ought to work for what you are looking for, yes? For his potions it does prevent the skin reverting to it's genetic code after leaving the lot, will have to test if it works with this object.
Since he had to make an InTeen specific version, I would guess that any code within the object for this purpose is probably conflicting silently with your InTeen installation. You should back up your neighborhood while testing the mirror with the permanency mod just in case.

I don't make them myself, I use Targa's Ascension or Ladder stairs, but I don't mind them as long as I don't have to look at them (hide them in a closet or something, please!).

Unless I already have specific plans for them, it an infant ages to a toddler and looks like the opposite gender of what they really are, I take it as a hint to make them a tomboy/effeminate/what-have-you, and I'm more likely to encourage them to be gay. Although I usually just set new playables/teens to bi-low and let them pick themselves (yay, ACR).

Somtimes I like to decorate with them, but since I have them unlocked in my Buy mode anyway, I don't need buggy resident deliveries.
