@ Grimma & jeromycraig

"Bye" was only a way to declare finished any other argues. Unfortunately it seems you both are too frustrated for anything else. I won't leave this forum because you say me to do. I don't give a fuck about what you say.

Have a nice day Wink

27  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Marrying foreign sims on: 2010 October 17, 00:05:05
It could be that inviting foreign sims to visit is simply a Bad Idea. I had issues (my own fault, really) after inviting a foreign sim to visit and switching to another family before the foreign sim arrived. When I switched back, the foreign sim was nowhere to be found, but it wasn't possible to invite them to visit again because the game seemed to think I had a group of sims visiting, and insisted that I wait for them to leave first. Perhaps romancing and marrying foreign sims is indeed best when in Ausland.

Has anyone tried lowering the sound quality without doing anything to the bikes, and seeing if that helps?
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing Object Warning - CC gone AWOL on: 2010 October 02, 01:14:21
I used the sr3cBatch.cmd file in the Sims 3 folder which I assume decrapified all the saves and library files, or at any rate it seemed like it was doing that. I've now dragged my saves in groups of 5 files or so over decrapify.exe just to be sure, and it seems to have solved the problem with the missing objects.

Thanks for your help.

31  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing Object Warning - CC gone AWOL on: 2010 October 01, 22:14:57
Thanks jeromycraig and Grimma, I followed the instructions for moving everything to the new downloads folder and rewriting resource.cfg. This doesn't seem to have fixed the problem, however. I'm still getting the same error when I load the neighborhood.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing Object Warning - CC gone AWOL on: 2010 October 01, 19:22:47
Not yet, could that be the problem? I thought we weren't supposed to move our downloads until we installed Ambitions.  Huh

My current resource.cfg is kind of a mess, but I believe it should read things in subfolders, if that's what you are after.

33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Missing Object Warning - CC gone AWOL on: 2010 October 01, 19:04:34
I recently decided to start playing TS3 again, so I patched up to the current version of WA with the auto-patchination utility from MTS2, downloaded the latest store stuff and decrapified it with the batch file as per instructions found on MATY before installing it normally with the launcher, updated Awesomemod, and installed some new CC from MTS.

I got this "Missing Object Warning: Some objects could not be loaded and were replaced." Among the missing thus far seem to be the Riverview objects in my neighborhood such as the school and town hall, and some custom hair. This happened in both my saved neighborhoods. I quit without saving, hoping to fix things without having to hunt down and replace all the missing objects myself. Unlike a poster with similar issues, I do not have Ambitions, and I have not yet noticed any missing objects that are part of the game itself. CC is enabled, and I have not deleted any of my CC since I last played.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to isolate what exactly caused the problem since I did all of my updating at once. I will attempt to remove "suspicious" bits of CC to see if it helps, but presumably disabling it all or removing it all won't help me resolve the error of missing objects, since the packages I remove will then trigger the same error. I suspect something may have gotten screwy when the batch file decrapified my save games, or that something went wrong when I patched.

Any help with this problem would be much appreciated.

ETA: I have the Riverview objects in .package format, although Riverview itself seems to be missing when I go to create a new neighborhood. Not sure if that is part of the same problem or not, as it still shows up in the launcher.
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: What's Fixed on: 2010 June 14, 20:09:08
What happens to the sim when you do this? Does it kill them? It seems like a VBT.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New World: Crescent Cove, A Barrier Island on: 2010 June 14, 16:11:10
On the face of it I wouldn't recommend doing that, as it allows the game to phone home.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly on: 2010 June 14, 00:12:58
@myskaal: Yes, I've reviewed those threads, and while there are a few opinions in them, they don't cover the intended purpose of this thread. I think it's better to have a dedicated discussion of the actual features rather than a comparison of bug reports. Also, you are getting my hopes up -- is there an actual swamp in Twinbrook?

I know, I know. It are not a bug, it are a feature!
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Ambitions: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly on: 2010 June 13, 22:34:26
I don't see a thread on this yet, so I thought I'd ask--for those of you with Ambitions, what do you like or dislike thus far about the EP? What is done well, and what is terrible? What works and what doesn't? Are there new objects/rabbitholes/templates/patterns? In short, is it worth the disk space?

Report!
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Fambly starter - colour challenge. on: 2010 June 13, 20:59:32
I like the interior, but the exterior siding with the stripes seems rather strange to me. I'd use a different color on the chair cushions and tone down the kitchen floor to something more neutral. The house has a bit of a light and breezy look to it with all the pastels and the white furniture. Overall I think it's a great idea, and I'm looking forward to the next color scheme.
39  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New World: Crescent Cove, A Barrier Island on: 2010 June 13, 20:50:53
I wonder, could any of it be related to the specs of your computers? I know I did use a lot of effects when I made the neighborhood, especially for the waves all around the entire island, and there are an awful lot of plants. It's the only thing I can think of so far, because I haven't had any issues with it in my game, but perhaps with a lower end computer or with different settings it could be more of a problem.

I believe these are all of the necessary CAW files. Hopefully someone here will be able to figure out whether something is corrupted.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I can't replicate the crashing problems, but I have updated the neighborhood to fix the disconnected roads and the few stray plants on the sidewalk. The new download should be up for you soon.

ETA: Original post changed to link to the updated Crescent Cove file.

42  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Getting engaged to/marrying foreign sims. on: 2010 February 17, 04:24:29
Has anyone been able to isolate what series of events causes this to happen, or is it just a random crapshoot every time you attempt to marry a sim from the vacation neighborhoods? Could there be a safe way to marry them at all, to save those of us with fairly empty base hoods from having to create a mate in CAS for every sim?
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: McDermotts can't return home from France on: 2010 February 15, 21:11:46
It might help to go back to the beginning. Can you think of anything you might have changed, or any mods you might have added/removed, patches installed, etc since sending the family on vacation?
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Homeless Challenge, TS3 on: 2010 February 12, 20:29:56
I've decided it would also be okay to start the game with a bicycle and bike rack instead of a fence, so long as the bicycle and the rack are never sold. It irritates the hell out of me to see supposedly broke sims getting taxi rides for free.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.10/2.5/3.1 on: 2010 February 12, 20:27:01
@nanacake

If you searched for "invalid file found," you'd have seen that there have been multiple users with the same problem. Some of the threads are a mess, though, so I'll tell you what worked for me half an hour ago :p

Check to see that you are using the original .exe file and the original TSLHost.dll in Game/Bin instead of a crack that came with a torrent. If you are using a nocd crack that replaced these files the patch installer will barf. Replace the cracked files with the originals and use Awesomemod for the nocd instead. Hope that works for you.
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Homeless Challenge, TS3 on: 2010 February 12, 05:35:27
They ARE using the public toilets at the library, gebus.

Also, collection is okay as long the rocks, bugs, and seeds aren't sold, right? They get those wants to collect now and then. Unlike some, I actually try to make my Sims happy.
Collection is okay so long as they don't make money from it.
I think I'll play the no use of buy or build mode, but I'd like to use the move objects cheat to place items that might need a wall if some lucky Sim happens to nick something that requires one. Of course, creative fencing might be interesting. Does fencing work the way it did in Sims 2 to allow bathroom privacy?
No moveObjects on to place objects you can't otherwise place, that is considered cheating. As for the fencing, I have no idea.

Other stuff:
1) I've decided that all the tents are okay, since I'm told you can only buy them as inventory items while on vacation, and they aren't normally on community lots or available in the buy mode catalog. The same goes for the shower in the can, since I gather they are not free.
2) I've decided to award +1 point for each sim that maxes out 8 skills before the end of the challenge.
3) The sim may have an unlimited number of traits, but no more than two skilling traits.
4) every toddler must be potty trained and learn to walk and talk before aging
5) children must max out their baking/blocks skills before aging
6)I'm considering making it okay for them to get money from exploring the graveyard (not the tomb raiding in WA), because that risks injuring them and grave robbing seems to fit well with the theme.

ETA

7) I think I will allow sims to search the galaxy with the telescope
Cool plus 1 point for honesty - sim never steals anything
9) +1 for every 10,000 simoleons at endgame?
10) +1 for having the "perfect garden" with every plant
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New World: Crescent Cove, A Barrier Island on: 2010 February 11, 23:56:24
I did put a couple of Victorians on that street, they just seemed to fit right in that kind of neighborhood, back in the trees at the center of the island.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Homeless Challenge, TS3 on: 2010 February 11, 23:43:24
I guess that depends on whether the amount they can earn in tips can possibly qualify as super cheaty, like rock and bug collecting, which dumps a massive load of cash on the sims for minimal effort. You could help me determine that.

Clarification wanted:

No mention is made of toilets, sinks, or tubs. I'm guessing that tubs were just an oversight, but that the use of toilets and sinks is allowed. So if I have a slob, (s)he can wash up in the sink. Is that correct?

Yes. Terlets and sinks are okay, tubs not so much.
49  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Homeless Challenge, TS3 on: 2010 February 11, 22:51:42
I'd say allow the use of tents, but only the cheap little crappy tent, and your homeless sim can only have ONE. For that added homeless feel, try giving the tent a sort of cardboard texture.
I assume that the tents placed on community lots are not for rent and free to use, like the fire pit, and don't need to be placed in a sim's inventory like the picnic basket. In that case it seems best to let players buy any tent they like, but only allow them to use either the crappiest of the tents on community lots or none at all (since this gives an unfair advantage to WA players). Or, for simplicity's sake, only allowing the crappiest tent, period. Do those options make sense?

I'm trying to decide what the failure/success mechanisms should be for this challenge. Obviously you lose if your sim dies, but I'm thinking of making it so the challenge begins with a single young adult sim, with the requirement that the sim mate and raise at least two babies to YAs. This would add sufficient challenge that the player would be very busy trying to meet these requirements in addition to the difficulty of keeping up the sim's mood (especially energy and hygiene) to keep it from being boring. Other sims may move in, but only if the family funds cheat is used are reset the bank to what it was before they moved in.

So, you could possibly fail the challenge if:
-5 your spawn do not make it to the honor roll as both children and teens
-5 your sim collapses from exhaustion
-5 your sim pees on the floor
-1 hygiene failure (your sim gets stinky?)
F your sim dies of anything other than old age
-5 your spawn miss a day of school
F any spawn die or are taken away by the social worker
F your sim dies of old age without spawning and raising at least two children to YAs. Children may only age by themselves, without using the birthday cake to speed up their progress.
-1 sims fail at reaching some sort of minimum amount of LTW points (?)
-1 for not reaching some sort of minimum skill requirements (?)

Bonus points:

+2 Raise at least 5 sproggins to YA
+1 Aesthetic points for only using "trashed" home and community lots, awarded arbitrarily by me
+2 "empty lot" style play - build/buy modes are never used throughout the entire challenge

Can you think of anything I should add/remove? TESTERS WANTED

ETA: rebalanced points. The F is for automatic failure :p

Is it necessary to move the framework if you are just patching, and not installing High End Loft Stuff?
