Any chance to get an email, when the new mod is ready?
Oh, honestly. How difficult is it to check a website? The less time Pescado has to spend telling people what he's doing, the more time he actually has to, you know, do it. It's funny how things work like that.

If you don't want the new patch but have already installed it, you'll have to do the uninstallation/reinstallation dance, and keep the launcher from updating to 1.6 (or whatever the new patch is). As for AM, double check that the framework is installed properly after you've reinstalled the game. Once you've loaded the game up, type "showconfig". If a box pops up, then AM is installed and working.

Okay, sorry for the delay in reply. I'm not on a windows computer at the moment, but in order to do a registry edit you go to Run and type in "regedit". You then need to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Sims>Sims 3, I believe, and change the SKU accordingly. I've had to do this in the past for TS2, but haven't had to do it yet for TS3, so somebody who's done it can jump in if they want. I'm off to go double check this in a bit.
ETA: I would try PhantomNeko's suggestion below first, since I haven't tried this for TS3.

According to the other thread, you can do something do workaround that, Shortyboo: roflcopter... I own legit TS3 (yes, I bought it)
I cannot install the expansion because of the region the game thinks it is.
You want to fix this? In regedit... HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3
Change SKU value to 7.
Then yay, it installs. Screw EA.
If somebody knows the SKU value of the US base game (I'm assuming you're USian, LindseyLou, correct me if I'm wrong), the OP could try changing that before attempting to install the EP and report back. I don't know if that would work or not, I'm just guessing.

Pookysimslover: That is one serious abuse of commas. There should be a reason for the comma to be there, and random insertions don't count. But what about the employees? My father worked on Fight Night Round 2 & 3. Back then, around christmas i NEVER saw him, except for two days: Christmas and New Years Eve/Day. It sucked balls for them.
Not clear what you're saying here. You said that you never saw him around Christmas, but that you saw him on Christmas? Doesn't that count as being "around Christmas"?

The "move in" option is a serious pain-- half the time my sims have the option to "propose marriage" before I can get one sim to ask the other to move in with them. Usually I just cheat by shift-clicking the sim I want and choosing "add to active family". (Though you need to have debug mode enabled for this to work.)

I am running Sims 3 with 1.2.7 so if that is a problem, inform me.
That's a problem. Honestly, though, you sound as if you already suspected that it would be, so why even bother posting?

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Questions about The Sims 3 Launcher
|
on: 2009 November 01, 23:29:13

Yes, but I still don't know if Pescado meant the Downloads Tab of the Game Launcher or the Downloads Folder in My Documents. And, I don't know, but I guess that what really got me confused was that it really didn't have much to do with my original question, although it is a piece of useful information.
Deleting .sims3packs from the Downloads folder after they have been installed will remove them from the Downloads tab in the launcher. It doesn't affect content already installed.
I really don't know how to state it any plainer. Deleting things from the Downloads folder will remove them from the Downloads tab in the launcher. This does not uninstall anything. Your original question was whether or not it was safe to remove things from this tab: JM was telling you how to do it.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Questions about The Sims 3 Launcher

My number one question is... Suppose I keep a backup copy of everything I download, in a folder somewhere in my hard drive, in case I regret deleting anything. Once I've got everything I wanted installed (Installed Content tab) can I delete everything from the "Downloads" tab??? No matter whether they are grey or colored??? Will it affect my game? It will help me keep things in order, so I really want to know if I understood this right.

Interestingly, I just had this problem pop up in a more or less blank-slate version of Sunset Valley-- meaning that all the EAxian community lots were there, but the houses were all built from the ground up. The only place I have seen this happen in so far was the art gallery, but apparently Goth or Wolff manors aren't needed to develop this problem. I'm off to bulldoze the art gallery and hope for the best.

Are you referring to the 1 am lag? I'm pretty sure that's from EAxis (though I haven't played without AM in ages, so I can't remember how noticeable it is in a vanilla game), it's when the game does all of the story progression calculations and so on.
Also, in reference to the Securom thing: I haven't been able to find any traces on my macbook yet, but I don't play from the disc. I have no idea if running from the disc would affect this or not.

I am not talking about people abusing their positions to make advancements on someone who is afraid to do anything because they are of a lower standing than the other person.
Have you ever seen how many older men flirt with young girls? Teachers, employeers, neighbors, everyone.
I think you can see the contradictory quality of your two statements for yourself. Additionally, I'm unclear what "definition" you're referring to, as I never provided one.

I suspect you misinterpreted my use of the word power. Regardless, my original point still stands: if you live in a community in which it is common for employers and teachers to abuse their positions and flirt with someone who, by definition, is incapable of rejecting their advances without fear of repercussion-- well, you should should consider moving. Two of the examples you provided didn't support the point you were trying to make, which seems to be that flirting is a daily and harmless occurrence. In both of these situations, it's neither acceptable nor harmless.
I have absolutely no idea what a senator or a garbageman has to do with anything, since it seems unlikely that either one of them would be flirting with the other to begin with.
Edited because it is late, and my typing skills are failing.

I find it interesting that at least two of the positions you listed are ones with unequal balances of power. I'm fairly certain that, were I to walk into work and begin flirting with my students one day, the general reaction from parents and administration would not be "well, shit happens".
If nothing seems off to you about an adult in a position of power abusing that position to flirt with a minor, then I am entirely grateful you aren't my boss or a teacher.
On a side note, I'm female, not male.

Have you ever seen how many older men flirt with young girls? Teachers, employeers, neighbors, everyone . Unless they actually make sexual advances, no one except maybe people that see the creepy old man doing it and have morals think it's wrong.
I'm kind of curious about the community in which you live. You may want to consider moving.

Just a bit of forewarning-- you will find that deleting the caches does not always solve this problem for Macs (the link in my earlier post talks about it a bit more). It seems to be pretty much luck of the draw-- sometimes CC hair works, sometimes it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be a permanent solution for the problem yet, though clearing your caches and restarting your computer sometimes helps.

If you're looking to cut down save time, just do the files in the The Sims 3>Saves folder (the files end with .sims3). I'm not sure what would happen if you tried it on the SavedSims folder... probably nothing, but I've never tried it so I can't say for sure either way.

Click and drag your file(s) onto the s3rc.exe. A black window will pop up and then disappear-- that's it. The window may stay up for awhile, depending on how bloated the file is.
To find your saved games files, go to My Docs>Electronic Arts>TS3>Saves.
