TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New EP procedure - would love recommendations.

That sounds rather ideal, Tigerlilley, for those (such as I) that simply can't wait to install a new EP after they've gotten it. In being forced to wait before you can receive it, you're likely saving yourself a ton of headache in trying to fix everything. You also get the added bonus of observing the problems other people have and how they're inevitably fixed.
That's the reason I waited two months before I bought Uni; were you around when it was first released? As I recall, there were a lot of fixes/modding that needed to be done to get the hacks to even allow the game to run.

and let me guess, you all you got to play with was a brick that you kicked around... and on special days... you might get a news paper to wrap around it to soften the load? Naw. Bricks hadn't been invented yet. All we had were sticks. Sharp ones. AND WE LIKED IT! Sounds like your life has been forever documented in a Weird Al song, you poor, poor bastard.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Unable to Transfer Lot Ownership of Home Business

There is no deed for a home business. So there is nothing to transfer. It always seems to go to the top person on the UI (oldest, then alpabetically if needed).
I've never had issues with transferring perks to sims on the same lot. Usually, however, I have someone open a home business, get it to level 5, and close the biz down. Take all money perks. Then I have another family member open a home business (same lot) and repeat.
That sounds like a very good idea. Since I was cheated out of my one business perk, I think Ill get the business to level 6 before I do the same. Great idea, Zazazu; thanks!

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Unable to Transfer Lot Ownership of Home Business

I had a Sim that had started his own home business, but as he was getting on in years I thought I'd have him transfer the ownership of the lot to his son (who he had a 100/100 relationship with). Alas and alack, the option was not there, nor was the opportunity to pass on his one (yes, only only one) business perk. Once he passed away of old age, the lot transferred to his widow who did manage to get the Pass Along. . . option reinstated, but I still can't transfer the lot ownership to anyone else living there.
Would anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I did recently install the Glamour Life stuff pack if that's of any help at all.

Msalwaysright already covered Madonna on page two here. I've seen worse for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, though, and the Tom Cruise isn't entirely bad. I personally wouldn't use him in my game, but at least one can tell who it's supposed to be. The bottom half of Brad Pitt is actually pretty good; they got his jawline pretty well matched up. I'm thinking if they shrunk his eyes a bit it might convey more of a likeness. The Angelina Jolie is a pretty Sim, but if I hadn't seen it juxtaposed next to an actual picture of her, I wouldn't know who it was supposed to be. ETA: I just noticed that this person uploaded her Madonna on September of 2005, noting that she was the first person to make and upload Madonna. I'm thinking she probably rushed it way too much in her hurry to "be the first." I'm not sure what she was thinking when she sculpted that jaw and chin, though: yikes!

TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default Medieval Townies & Base Game NPC's for all.

I also have a question, Madame Mim. I have the Medieval stuff separated from the regular downloads and all, but I find that I have several of the custom townies from Scotia showing up in BodyShop. Can I delete them without having them disappear from the Medieval neighborhood I have set up?

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Only Six Sims on the Left Side of the Screen
|
on: 2007 August 06, 02:45:02

When I play the game, there should normally be 8 slots available at the left side of the screen to show the Sims that are part of that household. For the last few months, I've only been allowed six. If I ever have more than six Sims in a household, they're carried over to the right to start a new column (kind of like when it shows the Pets). Is there any way I can fix this that doesn't involve me reinstalling the entire game? What could have caused this malfunction? It doesn't affect gameplay a lot, but it is rather annoying.
I'm not sure if this is related to me playing the game in Windows mode or not, but I thought i'd ask anyways.

I think I read a story a while back where someone did this deliberately for storytelling purposes. They had a female Sim remain as a "baby" throughout her toddlerhood, childhood and teenhood. There were no apparent ill-effects from having done that.
However, I don't blame you for not wanting to expermient; yikes.

Attemptedly murdered?
That's what I was thinking. The most offensive part of that is the use of the word 'attemptedly.' On the plus side, if it was, in fact, a word, they would have at least spelled it correctly. Oh yes, and there's also the part where she dreamily wonders if she's pregnant before she "realizes" that the baby would be that of her rapist. Also, in chapter two, the author makes a rather poor grammatical error: The doctor let me stay in the hospital room, because she too has raped long ago. That's so sweet; the nurse that has raped people in the past is letting her stay in the hospital room longer. Ugh. After I had completely recovered, and gained my confidence back by reading that article, And just like that, reading an article in the paper that her rapist had been stabed to death in a robbery made everything all better. This story may not be the worst out there, but it is eye-rollingly silly. "Your baby is fine. It's forming slowly and it's the size of a limabean right now, but, SHE, is doing great." So despite the fact that the fetus is pretty much still a zygote at the moment, the doctor can still tell that it's a girl. Oh, the miraculous technology they have in The Sims, I'm tellin' ya.
