226  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Townie Keep Memories on: 2007 February 26, 13:24:49
Problem solved, for those interested, and thus far it has nothing to do with any townie memory hacks  Wink though I have yet to try using said hack again since weeding this out.

Firstly, I apparently at some point amid my hackaholic induced neeeeed to get all my fixes back into my game made 2 folders for all my hacks. So.. I had duplicates of all my MATY and Inteen floating around under my makeup and clothes. Lips sealed After cleaning those out and running through the marriage again, I was still getting the undefined transition error so one by one everything came out and went back in.

No surprise at all, I'm sure, that the problem was in fact a conflict with InTeen. It doesn't play nice at all with Pescado's No20kHandouts. So sadly, no starting out completely poor without some extra effort on my part for my future sims but at least they can marry townies without any hitches now.

edit:

Bit of an update regarding the MoveInAll hack. It's not working, either. There's no error involved and I can't seem to produce one with it, it's just not kicking in. Marriage or simply Move-In goes off as normal base game with no dialog pop-up and no memories retained from townie-hood. This is using moveinfixEP4p1 and moveinall_unidorms-EP4p1.

I would try Pescado's NoAmnesia out and see how it tastes but it's been 404'ed.
227  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Townie Keep Memories on: 2007 February 26, 10:54:13
I don't trust Squinge's hacks. Call me MATY spoiled.

The only reason I was looking for an alternative with no menu adjustments option is because I do use InTeen. So I already have the move in for teens options, not interested in moving in kids and was thinking since the Syberspunk version is incompatible with InTeen, even though there's a work around by loading yours after, it'd just be best to find one like Pescado's that was still working with pets.

In any case, since the hood I tried this in was less than a sim-week old I decided to ditch it and start over. About to try this scenario again today and will see if I'm still getting the bug and go from there. Not in the mood to rebuild the hood again if it's avoidable.

Only if she made them herself in bodyshop, or cloned to remake any she downloaded and installed, or physically moved ones she might have downloaded after installing them. By default, premade sims that you install from a S2pack file, either with the bodyshop installer or the S2PCI, land in the Downloads folder.  Undecided

I'm really not sure what's going on here. I attached an error log in the post for Ste's hack but found out it's not even his hack that was causing the problem. I've now gone through and methodically removed *all* of my hacks and still get this bug.
No amnesia kinda just hit the bottom of my list.

Time to start over. Again. meh.
230  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Townie Keep Memories on: 2007 February 24, 19:54:20
Alrighty well, Ste's version doesn't work for me. I'll go through and run it in debug later to try and find out exactly what's bugging out on it but everytime I try to run the marriage through, the ceremony finishes and instead of joining the family the townie jumpbugs and stays a visitor on the lot.

231  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Townie Keep Memories on: 2007 February 24, 18:20:54
Marrying here and there would be the most likely way, yea. I got to thinking about the hack from one particular relationship where the playable sim is likely going to marry the townie and when he does and she moves in I don't want her to lose all the made out with/ woohooed for the first time/in the car type memories.

I'll use Syberspunk's for now, cause it'll get the job done.

I'm still wondering if Pescado's is down the disposal or not, though.

I saw Ste's updates of pinhead's move-in hacks but I'm not exactly looking for adjustments to the move-in menu, only the townies keeping their memories part.

Yes I believe that's the one I was thinking of from having before.

I notice it's not in the Pets directory or in the director's cut, though. Is it still supported?
234  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Townie Keep Memories on: 2007 February 23, 15:04:51
That is: No Amnesia from their life as a townie when they move in and become playable.

I know there was at one point somewhere a hack that did this and only this. I'm trying to find it again.

Y'know, I'm just speculating, but if more of these handy tips were in the FManual, more people might be tempted into the Pescado Militarized Zone that is Macrotastics...  Tongue

Nevar! *flees from combat boots*

And yes the whole serving dance annoys the heck out of me, too. Bananas.
236  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Default eyebrows? on: 2007 February 23, 12:29:55
There's a default version of some of Helaene's brows at MTS2. Maybe not what you're looking for but you could give them a try.

237  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighbourhoods + townie creation (updated for Pets) on: 2007 February 23, 12:16:35
When I saw someone mention the wormrat was an unknown I figured the bird had to be one, too. I wonder if some of the others are the Leader of the Pack and maybe wolves?
I haven't played enough with Pets to know how any of that really works yet.

And yes thankyou, Jordi, for this tutorial and SaraMK for the empty templates. baaaaah!

I won't touch the question about importing a family. Someone who knows what they are talking about will probably answer that Wink
238  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighbourhoods + townie creation (updated for Pets) on: 2007 February 22, 15:29:28
I have no idea where the Unknowns come from either.

I did the same - clean hood with empty templates, made my peoples and counted the character files as they were made. No room for unknowns.
So I load up SimPE: the Grim Reaper, Crumplebottom, the Hula dancers, and the Therapist are all accounted for with their names and thumbnails. There are no unknowns in the hood at this time.

So I load back up and start to making my townies/downtownies. Carefullt watching the character folder. All created townies accounted for - no room for unknowns.

Close it all down, have a peek in SimPE. I now have a few unknowns. hm. Oh well - I decide to play a bit. So after a few sim days go by I decide to have a peek in SimPE again.
At this moment I have 12 unknowns.

All the strays are showing up in SimPE with names and thumbnails. All the adoptable pets are showing up in SimPE with names and thumbnails. All the townies and downtownies are showing up with names and thubnails.

Unknowns leave me baffled.

240  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Teeth Replacement on: 2007 February 19, 15:59:26
Bingo! It was Merco's makeup teeth. I have no idea why I was thinking they were a global mod file. Too many downloads  Roll Eyes

Thanks!
241  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Teeth Replacement on: 2007 February 19, 11:35:32
Thanks, I'll have a look.

I'm not sure if I'm even remembering correctly that they were default replacements. I have no idea if teeth are a seperate thing that can be modified that way but I figured if anyone would know it'd be someone here.  Wink
242  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Teeth Replacement on: 2007 February 19, 11:03:02
Sorry, I'm not sure if this should go here or in Peasantry.  Undecided

Somewhere along the lines of downoading new hair, makeups, eyes, etc. I remember seeing a mention of and a link to download a replacement for the Maxis default teeth. Only now I can't recall where the heck I saw that.
If I'm remembering correctly it wasn't a makeup option to cover up but an actual default replacement. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about and where I might find them?
243  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Paladin's Conflict Program on: 2007 February 15, 06:06:47
Thanks for the replies.

I haven't downloaded or installed any houses. All built from scratch myself.
A scan of my downloads with Clean Installer isn't showing any invalid package types.
The .ddl file is in the same directory as the .exe file.
I tried reinstalling the program, and now it hangs up even sooner than it did before.

I'm still lost on this.

Since I only have 3 non-MATY hacks (SimsWardrobe's Stop All Attraction hack - which is the one I was worried about an - and Jfades quieter burglar and fire alarms) and all seems to be running weill in game.. I suppose I won't worry about it until it explodes.

244  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Paladin's Conflict Program on: 2007 February 14, 17:16:54
Hello again to all ye MATY.

I've been out of the loop for a long while. I just so happened to have gotten Petz as a birthday present a few days ago and SO I'm back to fixing my game with all the can't live withouts here.

Anyway, on to my problem. I'm trying to use Paladin's program for checking for hack conflicts to see if any on the Non-Awesomes I have are going to cause trouble, however the scanning process keeps halting with an error at about 90% complete.

Since I can't find anything in the readme about how to translate errors or possibly resolve them and since I can't seem to find anyway of contacting the creator, I was hoping someone here might be able to help me out.

This is the error I'm getting:
Quote
Error: 70
Permission denied

Module: modSimsPackage
Procedure: gfstrDecompressFile
Location: 1000
---

Decompression routine entered at 2/14/2007 7:48:16 PM.

Any clues?
Is the program up to date?
Is there an alternative conflict scanner?

 Huh

Here's hoping for the completion. Just wow.

what i cant do i is attach stairs

I had the same problem with the raised floor when I tried to play with it. Having no custom modular stairs in at all...could not place stairs. Move objects cheat didn't work either. I think it was saying "no floor tile" or something similar when I clicked to try and place.

*edit to say I still have the problem, haven't found a solution any where.

You have the part of the machine the sims take the ticket from blocked by the wall. Move it so they can get to the part that has the little screen on it.
