Stupid question, the tabcasts that come with the tablet, they're supposed to give you skill points right?
202  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 12.20.2012) on: 2013 January 03, 04:21:54
Ok then. Are the lemonade stand and the kids bake sale table the same thing?

FIFY - no.

Thanks for the information and thanks.

Is there a suggestion to get the tablet to work everything else works but the tablet.

What do you mean by doesn't work? I happen to be in and out of the game now, I'll check mine.

You guys just keep it up, next thing you know the shouty Vole is going to show up. We did just vote it out of the dome.

Well when you put it like that. I actually do have quite a few blank thumbnails. I don't have the time nor patience right now to do any real digging but like you said, they may just be in the patch or PEBKAC or whatever. I wouldn't worry too much about them.

In the eyes of the game though, they are the same thing. Your question doesn't make sense. House = Apartment, Apartment = House
206  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Converting Late Night apartments to regular houses on: 2012 December 31, 01:36:04
What are you talking about? Why not just leave it alone and live there how it is? Same thing.

If you're having trouble with the s3sbrowser it's on your end. I just recently had to re-install all of my store stuff; with the exception of the Iams pet starter set, it got everything, even showed me things I had missing.

Already used KT Fixes

You're doing it wrong.

More people need to want to actually start creating, if anything for themselves. It's not as hard as it used to be. One of the reasons I started creating was because as a male simmer, we have nothing. Zip. Ziltch. Nada. It's kinda frustrating at times.
210  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 12.29.2012) on: 2012 December 29, 06:01:03
Updated OP.
I've added individual packages for the actual fixes because the unCAStable fixes are not 100% yet. Don't let that deter you from using them though, they work as they should. Right now the only problems are these: I've encountered with these sometimes when you go to CASt them then cancel doing so they become unCAStable again. So don't cancel the job and you'll be fine, and again I stress, sometimes. Then lastly with the Regal fence, the transparency doesn't work right away. As a work around, for now, place two sections of fence then the 1-tile gate, CASt the gate and drag the color template over to the fence. This will fix the transparency, you can now clone tool the fence to use as regular. The individual files are named accordingly and should be self explanatory, a bundled package is also provided.
211  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: More Featured Than You on: 2012 December 29, 05:29:08
I am pretty sure that the moderators at MTS really do not look very closely at most of the submissions.  This becomes apparent every so often when a creator announces that they mistakenly uploaded the wrong item.  I mean, how could someone's mistaken upload make it past a moderator's all seeing eye if the moderator actually installed the item in the game to see how it works?

I also have found homes with chairs flying in the air outside of the home, trees in toilets, and double beds placed in bedrooms three squares wide, leving a half square on each side of the bed.  It's pretty clear that not only have these uploads not been playtested, but they have not even been looked at.

You gotta love the creator feedback forum where people grovel for feedback on rejected items, and receive all sorts of worthless advice.  It's worthless in the sense that if one follows the advice, it really does not seem to significantly improve the odds of having the creation approved.  On the other hand, perhaps it is unrealistic to expect a moderator to devote a lot of time to each upload.

As for poses, makeup, houses, worlds, etc., etc., there is a tremendous lack of creativity and originality in the sims creative community.  This is not a problem unique to the sims.  I call it the coffeeshop syndrome.  I live in a small town, where one day, someone decided to open a coffeeshop.  The next thing you know, there are a half dozen coffeeshops in town.  That is five copycats thought opening a coffesshop was a good idea for a business.  They could not think of something original.  Next thing you know, all six coffeeshops are going out of business because the town simply cannot support six coffeeshops.  No one is making any money.

I think this same phenomenon explains why we have countless poses no one wants, all sorts of makeup which cannot be seen in game. a gazillion set of jeans, a half million lots, and thousands of worlds.  Everything pretty much looks alike.  And when something truly exceptional is made, it gets lost in a sea of crap.

While I don't agree with everything you're saying I will say this, I believe that the moderators do not ever install the submissions. That they only go by the information given in the post and the pictures. I would put money on this, there's no way they do. I could tell from responses I've gotten back on things I've submitted. I would like to see them put as much scrutiny and regulations on their lots as they do for Sims.

Anyway, getting to the point, does anyone know of a mod out there that will stop my sims from changing clothes just to leave the lot, or specifically to stop them changing out of their swimsuits for the sake of walking a couple of yards?

This may be a stupid thing to ask, but does this happen if they start out in their swim wear? Meaning are they wearing that outfit to begin with or are you having the game switch clothes when you direct them into the ocean?
213  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 12.20.2012) on: 2012 December 21, 21:59:57
Should be, I don't use any of that other stuff and my pet shop works fine. You can use this tool to figure out what you don't have, http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/s3s-browser.

So I just spent some time trying to find out exactly which sinks those blanks were for, and it appears they are sinks that I do indeed have! Crinrict's tool (Thank you, btw) lists 19 sinks, the EA store lists 19 sinks.  I counted out the amount of store-labeled sinks I have in game, 19.  Yet I show two blank sink thumbnails from that content patch... I will have to investigate further on some of the odd-priced items I have in the game with other categories.

They are most likely decrap/vanilla mismatches then, a decrapped store item is seen as diferent object in game.
214  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 12.20.2012) on: 2012 December 21, 18:10:09
Same thing that happened to me (mine is decrapped, for the record) but just as KT said when I reported it, it doesn't appear to be causing any other issues, just the blank thumbnails.

Good to know... So I'm probably just missing something, and nothing is being hidden from me.  Now it's going to forever bug me until I find out what it is. I could have sworn I actually had everything.

Real quick while I'm posting here, I've only recently started using your fixes, and up until now I've had .package fixes for things like the spellbook and pet shop.  For the pet shop I have 3 files, the pet shop package,  a pet shop merged package, and the register fix...   Is it safe to assume, now that I'm using your store fixes I can safely remove this extra crap and stick with the sims3pack version like I do everything else? I have no clue what was going on with the petshop at the time that caused me to get those files, when I have untouched sims3packs of everything else that I decrap before installing.

Should be, I don't use any of that other stuff and my pet shop works fine. You can use this tool to figure out what you don't have, http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/s3s-browser.
215  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 12.20.2012) on: 2012 December 21, 17:00:27
Usually that just means one of two things: you're missing something that I fixed or you have a decrap/vanilla mismatch for that item. I can't say there should be anything for sinks in there, and if it's the stencils thing then you most likely have decrap/vanilla mismatch. Have you tried testing what's in your overrides folder one by one?

217  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Do I have to put the download in all the expansion folders? on: 2012 December 20, 16:18:43
If you are fully patched only the base game needs the framework. That's I have it for Awesomemod, and it works just fine.
218  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2012 December 20, 15:24:51
How are you installing these? When's the last time you re-downloaded s3rc? Those version numbers in the OBJDs refer to the version of the OBJD, 0x00000016 and 0x0000000C are updated for snow and whatnot. I just learned that one. In gerneral if you install them via the launcher they should all show up as store content, packages will show up as CC. As far as I know there's no way around that. You could try changing the .package extension to .dbc and place them in you DCCache folder?

S3RC is the most recent. The items giving me grief were installed via the launcher years ago. It's any item prior to and including Barnacle Bay that has the issue and they all refer to the 0x00000015 OBJD. With the Ambitions patch these items vanished from my game and the only way I could get them back is to setup my resource file to read DBC files from my package folder and move them there. I still installed newer items via the launcher and they showed up fine so anything after Barnacle Bay is in the DDCache folder and works as expected. I have them in my packages folder now as DBC's but if I drag them back to the DDCache folder, they show in the catalog as blank thumbnails with no store or CC icon and I cannot use the items. What is extra weird is there's a few items after Barnacle Bay in the last DBC with these broken items and they show the store icon and function regardless of what folder I stick them in. I don't think it's the DBCs that are broken. I just can't figure out what the difference is.

Update: Re-decrapping them and putting them back in the DDCache folder now results in them entirely vanishing from the catalog again, no more blank thumbnails.

Could it be these are items you had installed before we had to decrap stuff? I know it sucks but you might just be better off reinstalling everything, I just spent the other night doing this. #stupidgreenhouse

Can someone please re-upload the Katy Perry poster that came with Origin.

I'm 90% sure I haven't decrapped this yet.
http://www.4shared.com/zip/lo3xyvGM/KPposter.html?

If it were decrapped, Katy Perry would disappear from the frame.

FOR SHAME, AIDE.  FOR SHAME.

Yea yea, from a creators stand point it's good to have all available resources. Besides, Katy Perry or not, MUST HAVE IT ALL!! RAWR! Thank you for the reply Giroro but that's not the one I'm looking for.
221  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2012 December 19, 16:09:03
Does anyone know what flag causes the game to show a item as a store item in the catalog? I have this issue where anything decrapped prior to Ambitions is showing the CC icon vs the store icon. Said items are also being replaced by base game items if they are used in a lot despite decrapping the lot where as items showing the store icon do not. I noted the version at the top of the OBJD is 0x00000015 vs 0x00000016 on newer items that work as expected. I tried manually changing this but it made no difference. The second version noted is 0x0000000C on items that work and those that do not. I attempted to note any other flags in the OBJD that seemed to be the store flag and found nothing. I even attempted to re-decrap these older packages which changed the group from 0x01 to 0x00 and no dice. I'd like to manually fix these items vs hunting the Sims3packs to reinstall them. Halp?

Did CASTable versions of the older store fences ever come out? Getting real tired of having 9 versions of Estate Fencing sitting around.

No, but I am working on that ATM.
223  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Any more info about the Exception Raised error? on: 2012 December 18, 21:14:51

No, the point is the platform. Mac problems with the Sims has been an issue from the beginning not just since 1.42.

Do you write about this just for the pleasure to admire your own words ? I suppose.

I play ( sometimes ) with the Sims from ..... gosh, many years and rarely had problems with it. As far I know, the numbers of tards on both platforms are incredibly high. Not my point anyway. Exception Raised errors are Windows errors belonging to a bad ciderization by EA on Mac.

Do you feel better to say stupid things about Mac because you prefer another platform ? Or because EA doesn't do the job ?

Butt hurt is growing in this one. Lurk moar, you'll find lots of problems with the game from the begining that only pertains to Mac users. Even if this particular issue is windows based, it still only shows up on Macs, hence the point.
224  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Any more info about the Exception Raised error? on: 2012 December 18, 20:19:32
Do you need to call me an apple fanboy to explain your point ? Interesting ... make me laugh. Good ! I laugh too when I see a PC fanboy doing some graphic design on PC. Or any tard who's still doing his texts on Microsoft Office ...
Obviously she did, this statement just further proves her point.

The point here is not the platform but the numbers of errors and problems inside ONE patch. And the lack of solutions. For now.

Currently thinking of getting back into the Sims3 after being away for other games for along time. What evils has Ea started since last I played this game?  Have they put some kinda spyware in the game to detect not payed for content? What precautions should be taken before installing these items other than the decrapafied thing?

Nope. Just decrap.
