201  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does the Vegetarian Trait affect anything besides food choices? on: 2009 July 04, 06:33:28
Morningstar fudz is yummy, and so is tofu if you cook it right. No, I'm not a vegetarian. I just like variety.
202  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Where are all the townies? on: 2009 July 04, 06:18:18
The familyfunds cheat is working now but I'm still clueless on the runstoryaction.  When I try to run it I get an unknown command type message. Tongue  Perhaps now that they have some money some of them will go ahead and find homes.  Goodness knows, there are plenty available but definitely nothing under 20,000 that five Sims can live in. Cheesy

I think familyFunds only works if the household is already on a lot, which sort of defeats the purpose of using it, in the first place. Can anyone confirm if this is still true, or not?
203  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Crashing during Save = Eaten Neighborhood??? on: 2009 July 04, 06:09:23
I was able to restore my borked 'hood by uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but not choosing the option to delete saved games, saved content, etc. It worked for me, but may not work for you. Use this solution at your own risk.
204  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What 5 Buy Mode objects would you like Modders to make first? on: 2009 July 04, 06:05:57
*sigh* It's been a running joke at MATY since Apartment Life came out. In this instance, it really has nothing to do with wicca. I was trying to make a funny.
205  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: So are there any plans on an updated awesomespec for houses for Sims 3? on: 2009 July 04, 05:55:24
I do that, too. It's a trick I learned in TS2. The alarm goes off as soon as the burglar sets foot on the property.
206  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Rummaging in front of the neighbors -- why don't they care? on: 2009 July 04, 05:50:28
Drakron, different places have different laws. It seems logical that garbage bins set out on the street would cease to be a person's property (they're throwing the stuff out, after all), but not all places will have the same laws. For example, some places outlaw dumpster diving while others don't. You really can't assume, just because the law in one area states that garbage is public property, that it will be that way everywhere. Different states in the US, and even different cities, all have their own separate laws about these sorts of things.

Edit to remove an extra "that."
207  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What 5 Buy Mode objects would you like Modders to make first? on: 2009 July 04, 04:01:50
clutter of any kind (more plants, kitchen pots and utensils, bathroom supplies, gardening tools, etc.)

Some of these exist under Decorations/Misc.

ETA: I want real pajamas for female sims. I hate that the only available sleepwear consists of either dresses or t-shirts and undies. It's sexist and offensive to wiccans.
208  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Where are all the townies? on: 2009 July 04, 03:12:54
When you type in "runstoryaction Move In Household" do you also have to type the household name?
209  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 04, 02:43:39
Attention People having trouble with editSim: Do you have testing cheats and debugging commands enabled for AwesomeMod? If not, this probably has something to do with your inability to successfully use editSim.

Attention New People: Many of your questions and concerns have already been addressed in this thread, and in other threads, as well. If you read through the threads in this section, you will find the answers you need.
210  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 Expansion In My Head on: 2009 July 03, 14:15:02
All I want from OFB is lockable doors. If only I could have them, my life would be complete.
211  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: So are there any plans on an updated awesomespec for houses for Sims 3? on: 2009 July 03, 11:11:53
I can haz raeg nao: Having to use a giant fucking garage door just to keep something from being used autonomously, or to prevent babies from being stolen, seems rather like overkill to me. Regular doors that can be locked are a much better solution. Too bad the geniuses who designed the game neglected to include them, when it would probably have been really easy to do so. I'm not going to put things that my sims actually need to use on occasion in a garage, that *I* have to open and close manually. That's just silly.

I understand that Zucabr and tngrspacecadet were, most likely, being facetious, here, but this has been suggested as an actual workaround in another thread. WTF?
212  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does the Vegetarian Trait affect anything besides food choices? on: 2009 July 03, 06:03:24
Some of the Gorton's things are good, believe it or not. They'll never be as good as fresh fish, of course, but they aren't bad, IMO.
213  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Making a better face skin... on: 2009 July 03, 05:58:56
I think that "better" is a relative term. I've always preferred skins that don't have any painted-on shading or highlights, because the in-game lighting provides those things, for the most part, and the end result is overkill that ends up looking like stage makeup, IMO. To each his own, I guess. It's cool that you're figuring out how to edit the skin files, though. I'm always in favor of moar CC.
214  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2009 July 03, 04:41:02
Ah, that makes sense. I had DLed to a different directory by mistake, and only moved the FPS_Limiter.exe file to the correct directory. Why, no, I'm *not* always the sharpest pencil in the box. Why do you ask?
215  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2009 July 03, 03:49:32
I tried to install FPS_Limiter, and Windoze wouldn't let me. It gave me a warning about needing something called Hookhelper and then refused to install the program. I have no idea what Hookhelper even is. I'm new to Vista, and the learning curve has been very steep compared to XP. I've been running the game from the TS3.exe file, but would prefer to use 3booter. Both 3booter and FPS_limiter are installed to the root The Sims 3 directory under Program Files, not the bin. Plz halp, kthxbai.
216  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Error codes 12 and 13 along with crashing. on: 2009 July 02, 04:54:40
It's a smaller neighborhood than Sunset Valley is. I've read in other threads, and at other forums, that the size of your neighborhood affects the ability to save properly. It appears that size really does matter.
217  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Invisible Sims -- anyone know how to beat with a hammer? on: 2009 July 02, 04:42:57
Did you recently install any default replacements, such as skins or eyes? That's the only think I can think of that might cause a problem like this, but I have no idea how to fix it.
218  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Getting Rid of Grid Lines in Build Mode on: 2009 July 02, 04:37:46
Me too. They actually make it *harder* to place things, as opposed to just eyeballing it.
219  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Grampa's losing it a little on: 2009 July 02, 04:34:30
None of my sims have had the Insane trait (yet), but the elder sims do seem to get some bizarre wishes. It wouldn't surprise me if this "senility" was just EA's idea of humor.
220  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 02, 04:04:27
I'm with Pes, I have never seen this option in game, and I've had my sims stand there for hours romancing each other.

It seems to take more social foreplay to pop up compared to when it appears in bed, but it's definitely there - if you can get the other Sim to think the active Sim is "extremely irresistible", the options to woo hoo and try for baby should appear shortly afterwards.

I've seen this option, and even tried to implement it; however, I've never gotten it to actually work. I think this mostly has to do with the "you're blocking my path and I have to stand here with my hand on my hip for five minutes until you GTFO of my way" issue. So, I just have them relax on the bed after all the standing-up foreplay. Tedious.
221  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 Expansion In My Head on: 2009 July 02, 02:46:08
Not to mention that it would help you earn moar charisma skill points.
222  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Grampa's losing it a little on: 2009 June 30, 21:24:51
I get some of these nonsensical wishes, too. I chalk it up to laziness on EA's part. Stupid EA.
223  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Unable to recolour kithchen counters on: 2009 June 29, 22:32:27
Save your custom color so that it will show up in the correct category (wood, metal, etc.), then apply it to the alternate counter that pbox suggested using, and it will match your custom-colored overachieving counters.
224  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Installing "anything" has gotten weird on: 2009 June 29, 22:26:28
I've found that I have to delete old files before replacing them using the monkeytool. The new files won't overwrite the outdated ones, but I think this is due more to Vista being retarded than it is to anything else.

Edit for clarity and an extra space that didn't need to be there.
225  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Things you DO like... on: 2009 June 29, 21:50:28
I forgot to add to my first post that I like the voice sliders. It helps give the illusion that sims are actually unique.

ETA: I just discovered that you can attach a ground level garage to a house on a foundation by using stairs. This, alone, makes TS3 superior to TS2, IMO.
