The search function should be my godsend and it isn't in this case. But as I've stated, I'll just have to live without AM. I'm no computer virgin and I use google a lot to find answers so if I can't figure it out or if I can't find the answer on a forum or google then I'm not going to waste my time no matter how good of a product it is.
That's because you aren't searching correctly. AM works on Macs. Searching with the word "mac" will bring up all sorts of helpful information, including this step by step thread.

Please elaborate. What alternative launcher? I think this would come in very handy if we have a problem "sharing" store content in the future.
The only alternative launcher I know of is TSR's, which kind of seems like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. Not sure installing more spyware would solve anything.

I would be interested in whether or not converting sims3packs to packages is a workable solution. I believe the most recent patch (well, before this apocalypse-inducing one) caused some pretty severe lag whenever there were files in the Mods folder that had been converted from sims3packs. I know I had to do some major cleaning in order to get my game to even load.

So, in order for TSR's files to work... they have to use AM? Suddenly EA's total ineptness has gotten much more entertaining.
ETA: Never mind, misunderstood what Pescado was saying. Regardless, the irony of TSR trumpeting .sims3packs as the way to go is pretty entertaining stuff.

Well that retarded advice came from the good folks at EA. My friend was having the problem and after doing it the blue lots have not returned to their pc. As i said i do not experience this problem....... The only reason i took the time to post all of that here is to try and help, no one said it was correct and no one said to try it
Um, no, you came out and directly stated that following your steps will fix blue lots: At this point your game would work perfectly. EAxis is known for giving bad advice. If you're passing along advice from their "support" team, always mention that up front.

I honestly think that it has nothing to do with cc's. All I can say is every lot except for two were blue lots (or cut outs, thank you Inge ) and that this happened with virtually no ccs installed Yes, but virtually is the significant word in your sentence. It's misleading to say that CC doesn't have anything to do with it if you do have some in your game. In order to cause a blue lot (or a cutout), you have to place that specific download on your lot, save and exit, then reenter the lot. A lot of people don't make the connection because it doesn't show up immediately. You don't need to have a huge mods folder, all you need is one "bad" download.

I honestly think that it has nothing to do with cc's. I installed WA and sent a family in Riverview to France. When they got back I found that all 4 of my families that I had created in Riverview had lost all fruit, vegetables and fish from their inventories, all skills and all harvestable plants.
This sounds like a completely different issue, unrelated to the blue lot problem. I can confirm that the blue lots I've experienced so far have been directly related to CC. My testing hood has one lone guy living on an empty lot. I put a piece of CC down, then save, exit, and reenter. I tried out HugeLunatic's shelves with this method, and they definitely caused blue lots for me.

On another note, game performance with .packages and the framework installed still blows chunks, at least for me. MTS is down right now, but over there in the help forum, someone hit on the idea of using Process Explorer to see what the game is doing. Turns out that for me, within a 2 minute playtime, it called one plant by Mutske from TSR (cactus04, converted to .package format) over a million times. I yanked out that plant, and gained back 7 fps.
My own experience has been pretty consistent with the discussion over at MTS, which is that only certain .package files seem to cause lag. With one Newsea hair downloaded (and nothing else), my game took 5+ minutes to load. With all of my other downloads (currently around 200 mb total), the game takes less than a minute to load. If you're having lagging problems, it's most likely due to certain .packages rather than all of them. Assuming that your computer was able to run the same amount of CC fine prior to WA, that is.

how the bloody hell can you not read my bloody punctuation?! your so irritating! im feeling as though i need to smash my head into the desk and all you care about is punctuation?
Your posts are borderline unintelligible. If you want help, you need to clearly state your problem and how you've attempted to fix it. Read the FAQ, then come back to this thread.

Have just updated the macbook to 1.7. The graphics are noticeably better, which is nice. My game has not yet crashed and burned, though I haven't had much time for play testing. Does not appear that EAxis fixed the random borkedness of CC hair, which is sad but not unexpected. Hopefully I will have the chance to test this patch out further the next few days.
ETA: I forgot to mention that the launcher does seem to be working now, so using the "check for updates" button should patch the game.

Look YOU!!!Who do you think u r?I type this way because it's easyer and faster... And, yes, first I searched on ur beloved GOOGLE and it showed nonsence, than I came here...
Unsurprisingly, typing nonsense into Google will, in fact, result in nonsense. It's not Google's fault that you can't spell or type properly. Read the FAQ and stop triple posting. This is most likely the politest response you are going to get.

After you've downloaded 3viewer, open up the folder. Mac users double click on the Sims3PackViewer.jar file, Windows users the 3Viewer.exe file. (Windows need to have Java installed.) The program should open up. The first time it opens, I believe it asks you to choose the directory that you installed TS3 under. Once that's all taken care of, go to File>Open. Select the .sims3pack you want to install. Click the install button. Sometimes it asks me where I want it installed (can't remember if it does this on the macbook or not, haven't used it for awhile). If it does, just go to the Mods>Packages folder. A .package file will show up there, usually with a long string of numbers as the file name. You can change this if you want.

I'm not sure how you expect me to respond to that. Obviously it does work, since numerous people (including myself) use it to replace the launcher. If you elaborate on what "I can't get it to work" means, you're more likely to get an actual reply.
Incidentally, the shift key is a wonderful invention.

You braved the scary necromancer to post this? Seriously, google would have answered your question just as easily. Also, "you" is only three letters long. I think you can manage to type the whole thing out.

Just to be clear: Awesomemod is currently incompatible with the most recent patch (1.6) and the EP. I was unclear from your first post if you tried to play with both AM and the patch installed, so I just wanted to put that out there.
