Right-click on the shortcut to the game and select "Properties". Add "-w" without the quotes to the end of the Target line so that it reads "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 FreeTime\TSBin\Sims2EP7.exe" -w, or wherever your game folder is located. Make sure there is a space between the "...exe" and the -w.

Nope, I was just testing that out. The only time he fails is when Pleasure is his secondary aspiration. I tried all the other perks and other secondary aspirations and he was fine.

I have a full set of Townies and Downtownies and the game is still adding professors as visitors to the hobby lots, much to my dismay. The last visit to the Science club had the iconic hobby Sim, one townie, and two professors there waiting. I am going to try banning them with TJ's visitor controller and see what happens because I absolutely loathe seeing professors anywhere in my neighborhood. Having the maid or gardener there wouldn't really bother me, but I can't stand the damn professors. *shakes fist*

Assigning LTA perks is what's causing my Grilled Cheese Sim to fail with the aspiration rewards. Last night I sent him to the orb, which reassigned him as Grilled Cheese again and removed his perks. His aspiration meter started to decay again so I let it get down to gold, then I checked and he was able to use the energizer and smart milk successfully. This morning I figured he was fixed, so I gave him back his four grilled cheese perks and the Pleasure secondary aspiration and sent him for a jog. When he returned, I stuck him in the energizer and it failed. I removed his LTA perks with the orb and he was able to use the energizer again. I upgraded all of my Sims for FT with the lot debugger but all of the other Sims in the house can use the aspiration rewards without problems. Of course he was the one Sim I was concerned about messing up when I installed FT.

Pre-FT permaplat sims appear borked. No clue how or why, but your #1 is a common problem.
I wonder -- can they be fixed by removing the permaplat bit with the lot debugger, and then reapplying it later? I'm having this problem with my Grilled Cheese Sim and I cannot remove his perma-plat with the debugger. I tried just before the turn of the hour for six Sim hours and his aspiration meter didn't budge at all. I was able to to pull it down to green by shift-clicking a few of his fears, but when I got him back up into the gold he was still making red smart milk and failing at the energizer. This particular Sim was not perma-plat before I installed FT but at some point his aspiration meter stopped decaying and I didn't notice until now. ETA: Why is my Sim gaining both Science and Games enthusiasm from studying logic? He's been reading from the Edumacation bookshelf and not playing chess or anything. He earned a membership card for the Gaming sekrit lot while I was trying to fix my Grilled Cheese Sim. Bwuh?

I wouldn't call that a bug, that has been the norm with every new ep. The sims will spend the entire time obsessing over wants that came with it. Pes will fix this I'm sure, if he hasn't already.
Yeah, I should be used to it by now but it does seem like I have to roll past more wants in this EP to see the important ones. With BV I just had to hula, slap dance, and do tai chi real quick and the normal wants would roll up but with FT it's more like talk, blog, prepare meal, eat meal, study cooking, then the regular power wants start showing up. ETA: Ok I guess it is about the same number of wants, I guess I got used to the BV ones because I could fulfill all of them in under an hour and move on with my Sim's day. The Science ones that you can only do at night are still really annoying.

Two small things I've noticed - I have to manually queue a Sim to go to work if they catch a ride in the helicopter and a couple of my fitness Sims have wanted to go jogging even though they don't have the enthusiasm level for it yet. I'm also getting annoyed by the sheer amount of hobby wants. Every morning my Sims have to talk about their hobbies, blog about their hobbies, and do something related to their hobbies before any normal aspiration-related wants start showing up. They are all fulfilled easily enough most of the time (except for Science, who wants to stargaze, see a shooting star, find a constellation, etc. at 8AM) but spending half the day just to get to the point of wanting to train the anklebiter to use the terlet is frustrating.

I've had pop-ups at varying points in the week that say things like "Booyah! This past week has been awesome! I gotta keep it up!" or something to that effect but I haven't seen anything in the UI that points to a specific goal.

It looks like the new lots in the catalog come from C:\... Res\UserData\LotCatalog - I recognize the sports plaza type place from the thumbnail in CleanInstaller. I doubt restoring the Lots folder in N002 would help at this point, but maybe you can copy them and replace the blank lot files in your Neighborhood folder?

All of the new career rewards are "meh" at best. I was playing around with the Intelligence spy gadget thingy and aside from a small boost to fun and social, all I got was a pop-up that said "That sounded like a ghost!" and then the guy put it down. wtf? The koi pond is okay but it reminds me too much of the ponds my daughter has for her Webkinz. Plus the edges on it aren't transparent so it doesn't match the terrain.

Zazazu, did you delete the files from the Lots subfolder when you cleaned out F002? The secret lots in my custom neighborhood are okay but I left that folder alone. I peeked at the lot files in CleanInstaller and they look like the hobby lots that are in my hood.

I am using an empty template that I made, but I looked at his to make sure I cleaned mine out the right way and they are the same. I haven't had any unwanted Sims appear and no errors are cropping up so at least for me it's safe. The SimBin families are gone and all of the secret hobby lots at least exist, although I haven't spent much time on them - I only popped into to a couple to make sure they would load. Perhaps Argon would be willing to lend his services again to make a super duper cleaned out template.

In case you want to create your own iconic hobby Sims (the "head" of each secret lot), the NPC/Townie gun includes this function and it at least appears to be working correctly. You can use CAS to make them and then attach them for each hobby the same way you would BV locals or the gun has an option to generate them on the spot. I made all of mine into townies first with Inge's teleporter before I added them to their respective hobbies but I don't know if that's still required. So far they have made all the appropriate phone calls, visits, and appearances at their hobby lots.
Edited because I left a couple of words out. Dur.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a way to undo the "beauty" wish in FT?
|

The reason I routinely delete them is because they can be passed along as gossip, then sims will fart hearts when they think of another sim's gossip memory. I.E. Joe will fart hearts over Mary, and later talk about it to Fred who will pick it up as gossip. Fred will then randomly seem to be farting hearts about Mary, even though Fred is not attracted to Mary - when he gets the fart hearts thought bubble about Mary, he is in fact thinking that Joe farts hearts at Mary.
It gets really weird when Sims start farting hearts over themselves or their immediate family members.

Did you add bugJarTimeDecay to the file recently? That will cause any cheats listed after it to stop working. I thought there was another cheat that had the same problem but I can't find any reference to it right now. You checked the file extension to be sure it reads .cheat and not .txt or anything like that?

If you want to use the tree, exit without saving instead of selecting "kill" if you get a spawn you don't like. "Kill" still generates an unlinked character file for each and every Sim created. Electric boogaloo is your best option like danicast said, unless you want to revert to a backup and try again.

That's a lot of sharing. O.o You can pull the original files off the CDs and save someone a lot of upload time. Browse the compressed.zip to TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods and/or TSData\Res\UserData\NeighborhoodTemplate and pull the files from there. The files are on Disc 2 for FT so you may have to check each disk. Then make backups of all of them.

It just looks like you've lost your Neighborhood .png and .reia files somewhere. The .reia is the "fly-by" and the .png is the neighborhood pic with Mortimer, Don, and the rest of the Pleasantview gang. If there isn't a neighborhood pic in the folder the game uses that grid template instead. You might be able to dig copies of them out of C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods\N001 or PM me your e-mail address and I can send copies to you (the .reia file is too large to attach).

uni_ltws_sns.package (2/27/08 9:09AM) is causing wants like these: ![](http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y145/gynarchy/TS2_28022008_205047.jpg) There are no errors generated. Ant farm, train set, and restorable car appear to be at least some of the offending wants. Short discussion in FT Bork thread starts here.
