And why exactly should we be bothered to download your files, since I'm assuming that's what you want? Learn to capitalize properly, use something like Photobucket so we can see the damned things, and get rid of the signature.
177  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Exit Stage Left, Please. on: 2010 March 13, 03:12:37
I have this happen while on vacation, usually while in fast mode. Time and sims freeze, but tree animations and sounds still function. I don't use AM, so that can't be causing the problem.

Same here. Vacation worlds have always been pretty buggy for me as a whole, even though my (fairly large) main worlds run fine. I've gotten into the habit of avoiding them due to this.
178  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Borked Thumbnails after deleting & clearing cache. on: 2010 March 13, 03:09:19
Also, so very bloody sorry for that one typo, dear Sir.  I apologise that it was such an issue, that you had to be a complete wanker.   So my sincerest apologies for my one (pardon me, two) misplaced "its" getting your knickers in a twist.  Put on your big girl panties and deal.

Seems like the one who needs to deal is the n00b who doesn't know their basic grammar skills. MATY places a very high value on correct grammar and spelling. And seriously, what the hell is up with your pathetic reference to "big girl panties"? Is this supposed to be insulting because you referred to Greyform as "sir" and-- ha, ha-- it's so demeaning to call someone else a girl?
179  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: name config on: 2010 March 10, 23:19:25
That sounds... unnecessarily complicated. How do you determine which name is dropped and which one is kept? What if someone dies and their spouse later remarries? (I have no idea if AM will do that, but I know I do it to my sims all the time.)

Seriously, just do it manually. You don't even have to do it through city hall-- I think the "edit sim" cheat will let you change their first and last names.

2)selected mostly slider hacks to serve as trials to see of viability of this method
...
6)deleted all my packages from the package folder
7)ran the game and found everything gone

When you say everything, what do you mean? Because if you only merged slider hacks together into a single package (which, by the way, is probably not a good idea), but then removed ALL packages from your mods folder, well, obviously the only thing present in your folder is going to be the merged slider hacks .package.

The idea is to merge similar things together-- hair, clothing, objects, etc. Merging hacks together is not a good idea because the likelihood of a patch or EP making it outdated is high, meaning that you would then have to delete everything that was merged along with it.

It looks like two windows set underneath each other-- most likely these by HugeLunatic.

Actually, merging hair files has worked fine for me, and has in fact caused the most noticeable decrease in load time and lag. You just want to test the hair file out to make sure it doesn't cause any problems before merging (Newsea, for example, loves to produce really laggy package files).
183  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Mapleton- The Unpopulated Version on: 2010 February 23, 03:23:23
Haven't tried it in game yet, but I do tend to prefer worlds that have the lots closer together, so I like what I see so far. Will give more constructive feedback once I actually have time to load the game.
184  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Decrapify vs. manual .dbc files? on: 2010 February 22, 04:46:32
Cheesy

Dear God, STOP with the fucking smileys already. That's, what, the sixth one on this page? We don't need to be constantly updated on your expression.
185  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Vehicle Anomalies on: 2010 February 21, 00:59:53
I could have sworn that somebody else mentioned the patch screwing up vehicles somewhere, but now I can't find it. I haven't noticed it myself, but then again, I haven't been playing much since the newest patch managed to once again fuck over mac users.

If nothing is showing up, then you probably have a framework fail and need to look around more.  I don't use a Mac, but from what I have seen here, Mac's have a weird way of working and it makes installing the framework so much more complicated.

Actually, it's not. It's basically just the same set up as Windows wrapped up differently. Right click on the game app > Show package contents > Contents > Resources > Transgaming > C Drive. The rest of the folders are exactly like Windows.
187  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: White Store Content on: 2010 February 19, 04:08:53
They weren't being literal.

ETA: It's considered bad form to delete your posts, particularly when other people have responded to them.
188  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: White Store Content on: 2010 February 18, 23:54:28
Huh? You click on it, and it decrapifies. That = decrapify button.
189  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: those motherfuckers.... 1.10.6??? on: 2010 February 16, 04:06:17
Bald head syndrome is an ID-10-T error. Also known as, DELETE YOUR FUCKING CACHE FILES.

And DELETE YOUR FUCKING CACHE FILES = I already did dickweed XD..and it's an error that has to do with Mac OS and newer patches, which means I'm just utterly screwed until EA grows some and fixes it.

Oh, is that why the game works just fine for me? Try again. Delete them again. Sometimes it takes a few to stick, but I assure you, it does stick. One time it took me ten tries.

Actually, assuming that this is the same bug that occurred in OS X a few patches back, the baldness problem is basically random and doesn't seem to be triggered by anything. Deleting your caches sometimes helps, but sometimes it doesn't. Occasionally, a complete restart of the computer does the trick. Deleting the caches doesn't guarantee a permanent solution, or even a temporary one. It's total voodoo, and a serious pain in the ass.
190  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod installation on Mac help! on: 2010 February 16, 03:55:36
Uh, okay. Unless I am missing something, we need MOAR INFORMATION, as you didn't actually tell us what the problem is. AM definitely works on macs. Are you saying it doesn't work at all? Or a specific feature isn't working? When you type in "showconfig," does something pop up?

MATYians aren't generally good with the mind-reading.
191  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.10/2.5/3.1 on: 2010 February 13, 05:35:52
Question: does anyone have a direct link for this patch in mac form? My launcher is being exceedingly difficult.
192  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How big does the Bootcamp partition need to be? on: 2010 February 06, 22:16:45
I currently have about 40 GB partitioned for Windows on my macbook. It's mostly for TS2+expansions and not much else. I do remember Windows itself taking up a good chunk of space, but I don't remember how much off the top of my head. By default the partition is read-only, but I've been using NTFS-3G for the last few months without any problems.
193  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.9/2.4 Issues on: 2010 February 03, 03:26:56
Is there anything like process monitor for Mac?

Not exactly. Personally, I've been using a sort of estimate method, in which I add one new piece of CC at a time. If the load time is unbearably long or the lag is noticeable, I pitch it. It's a pain in the ass, but activity monitor (the mac quasi-equivalent of process monitor) doesn't monitor .package files.

That being said, some past patches have fucked mac users over, so it's entirely possible it's just the patch and not the CC at all. One of the earlier ones caused huge load up times on my macbook, without any CC present at all.
194  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Got High End Loft Stuff two days early . . . for all the good it does me. on: 2010 January 31, 21:22:38
Enough of the technical talk—what did it look like?  Will it rock our worlds?
How does the aquarium look? Are there more interactions than ‘feed' and ‘scoop out'?
Give us the FLUFF news! Are there new songs for the electric guitar?  You know, we have to know about the love bed, too.

I think you're on the wrong forum. MATY doesn't do "fluff". Anyway, this is a stuff pack we're talking about. They almost never include new interactions, the only exception being the last TS2 stuff pack.
195  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New World: Milton on: 2010 January 24, 05:52:03
Definitely needs some zoomed-out pictures, preferably displaying how many lots it has and what sizes they are.

I'm not TOTALLY noobtastic.

I beg to differ.
197  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Long initial load time since most recent patch on: 2010 January 19, 21:34:16
.dbc files are basically just big .package files with everything squished together. Combining them into big chunks usually helps, but not always. This would be where the search button and common sense would come in handy. Search, and follow the advice of what other people have already tried.
198  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Horror Lag ! on: 2010 January 19, 18:02:46
Well, since Vista is a resource hog you may be doing too many things at once. Try disabling unnecessary processes or programs when you play. Disconnect from the internet, disable your antivirus, see if the lag lessens at all. Also, just for the record, don't rely too heavily on those can-you-run-it tests: they're known to be unreliable.
199  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Problem Loading Sims3 on: 2010 January 18, 23:56:46
Just to be clear: did you completely remove everything when you uninstalled the game? I do seem to remember some users having problems with the game not uninstalling completely.
200  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Rabbit Hole Venues -what are these Interiors I'm seeing? on: 2010 January 13, 20:01:59
I 'm thinking they could be interiors EA abandoned or mabye interiors that would be unlocked at a future date, or they could just be elaborate backdrops.

I don't think there's anything there to be unlocked, as they're just part of the building. Hopefully EAxis will eventually do away with the rabbit hole community lot concept, but it's hard to say. I miss my TS2 bars and shops, dammit.
