Yes, I kinda figured that out too, seeing all my other businesses were doing well. But that option to make a teen worker a manager shouldn't have even come up Smiley
152  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 10, 19:53:26
I never fiddle around with that but I'm happy it worked for you, and my fix worked for me, now every single pool in the neighborhood is blue (well actually bluish green from the neighborhood view, but I like that, it looks better).
153  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Tool for Listing sims in neighborhood? on: 2006 July 09, 20:47:24
That's what I did too Smiley But I'm not too satisfied with the results. I only get 2 bolts. I mean, is it even possible that there is not one sim that is perfectly appropriate and looks good enough for my sims?
154  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: No business income or decay on: 2006 July 09, 14:07:23
Sorry to bring up this thread after a long time, but I'm having a problem similar to this. I have a guy with 3 businesses, I promoted 2 townies to managers in 2 of them but the businesses are still level 3 or 4. I went to these lots 2-3 times in one regular sim day and stayed for days. But when I got home, I tried to check in on a business but it says none of my businesses have managers. Is this because I haven't played the lots for more than 5 times?
I told the managers to mind the store and unnassigned them from what they were doing. I have businessrunsyou, dma teleport and simwardrobe's customer limit adjuster on these lots. I've updated all 3 recently, and thus have no conflict as I had before. I never had a problem like this before the 2nd patch, but then again, I only had 2 managers in different lots with different owners. Am I doing something wrong? Both managers are teenagers, by the way. Could that be buggering the game up? The adult townies don't have any badges, that's why I can't make them managers until after a loong time of training.
How does this manager thing actually work? Is there an online tip on a forum perhaps. They don't sell the prima guide here. Sad

I have that, never used it before though Cheesy Thanks for reminding. After I find suitable matches, I'll check their jobs and LTW's in the database, and start the romance Smiley
156  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Tool for Listing sims in neighborhood? on: 2006 July 09, 00:01:27
Yes, that was the tool! Thank you. The census tool didn't do what I intended it to do. I'm trying to find a perfect match (3 bolts) for my favorite sims Cheesy
157  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Tool for Listing sims in neighborhood? on: 2006 July 08, 19:36:39
Oh yes the census tool did that! I remember an out-of game tool too but this will do just fine, thanks Smiley
158  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Tool for Listing sims in neighborhood? on: 2006 July 08, 19:29:26
I can slightly remember that there was a tool that worked with Simpe that listed all your sims and their stuff; like their jobs, marital status, personalities, LTW, and attractions. I can't for the life of me remember where it was or what it was even called to google it. Any ideas?
159  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Back 2 the future on: 2006 July 07, 23:19:19
Yup. So you buy a legal game and register it. And get 'kewl' downloads from the original site. And have a right to bitch about the bugs on the BBS. Slinking away now, getting off topic.
160  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 07, 23:14:04
Beats me. I tried fiddling with that but the game was on for more than 6 hours. That's usually when the settings go real crazy. But what I don't understand is, why do the lots stay that way (white) for days even though I save them when my graphics are normal, when every detail is perfect. Maybe they weren't I'll understand that if it happens again. I'll check my grass detail to be sure and fiddle around with the settings.
And Mutantbunny, good luck Smiley
161  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 07, 20:52:16
Well I did solve the problem. Though I have no idea how I did it. I made the game generate a new Sims2 folder, moved back all my downloads, first the hacks, check, then meshed objects, check, then everything else with checks in between. Then I saw I was still getting blue water, so I moved back the config folder, collections and finally my neighborhoods.

Then I entered a previously white-pooled house (which still appeared white) and moved the pool ladder, saved and exited to neighborhood, and presto! Blue Watered pools! Still can't figure out how this worked. I basically copied the entire folder contents to the other. Amazing! Cheesy
162  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Back 2 the future on: 2006 July 07, 20:42:42
Maxis actually promised to make some Sims objects available for download at their site before the base game came out. I guess they meant the tall shrub. That's the only thing they did a remake of. That's why I registered the game, I remember being happy that I would be able to DL a lot of stuff from Sims1 made for sims2 more often. They don't make anything worthwhile, and I'm not happy with an object a season. They probably want to push everything hideous in EP's Smiley
Anyway, there's always better stuff on player-sites. I love downloading, thanks Max!
163  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Locktiles on: 2006 July 06, 22:49:04
My pools are white in hood view as well, and I have not installed the 2nd ofb patch. I thought it was just build cheats or something I was using.

Well I still don't know what this is about, I have installed the OFB patch and before that I'd made pools with successful neighborhood views. I thought it was because I wallpapered the pool walls with the elevation cheat, but I made another pool the other day, left it as I made it, still white from the neighborhood.

I'm going to try with my clean game folder, to see if it happens again. And I remember sometime back someone made a replacement for pond waters at MTS2 but said they appeared white(or black, can't remember) from the neighborhood. Maybe something related to water and a download? I'm very careful with what I download, but a messed up mod could have seeped in. Gonna try now.

**Edit: Well I tried it in a newly generated pleasantville, and the water is blue. I guess I'll be checking my downloads this weekend to see if I can find what's causing this. Sad
164  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Patches for OFB and FFS on: 2006 July 05, 09:06:32
As I lack any self control over the act of 'buying' the sims, I'm glad it comes to where I live almost 2 months late! So I download the patches before I get the game. Guess that makes me lucky, in a way, as all mods are updated by that time too. Cheesy
165  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Patches for OFB and FFS on: 2006 July 03, 22:14:17
nectere, I do it exactly the way you do, I even check a few maxis lots before putting my stuff back in. But the last time I did it, I forgot to change back some of the scripts (and something else I can't quite remember), so had to start over.

But I've just noticed something, in Uni, when you have people living in a greek house, only one of my sims in that house got the want to ask someone to pledge, none of the others can ask any sims to pledge. Is this normal, or is it after-patch. I never played a greek house properly before and with a household greater than 1 sim. I'm wondering... And my pools aren't blue in my custom college neighborhood (from the nieghborhood view), they appear white. I haven't created any houses in the normal neighborhood with pools, I guess it's just a glitch with that lot. Or isn't it- still don't have too much confidence in the patch, waiting for something to go wrong. Cheesy
166  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Back 2 the future on: 2006 June 30, 20:32:46
It seems pretty low, looking at the pointy circle bowl, (then again you never know- it may have hidden polys inside) but I love low poly objects, I don't mind a not-so smooth spheric bowl at all! (I know I sound retarded, today is one of those days)
167  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Patches for OFB and FFS on: 2006 June 26, 16:18:14
Hmm. That's quite a lot I never paid any attention to. Good to know anyway, for the next patch.
As you've all probably understood, I don't care much how I left my sims the last time I played. (or don't remember, as I play only every 4-5 days) I have a fish-like memory so I get surprised every time I load a family, I even forgot one had a baby! And they lead pretty chaotic lives, I never have a set bedtime (very much like me) So it's not surprising to me that a sim is standing next to a bed, or a baby on the floor. I just assume I left them that way Cheesy
168  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Patches for OFB and FFS on: 2006 June 25, 20:00:09
I installed the patch and then put my neighborhood in. Don't know if I mucked anything up, but I don't remember any of my households resetting. But then again, I play one family every few days, so maybe I forgot whether they were at work or home, but I'm absolutely sure none of them ended up near the mailbox like when they first moved in (if that's what you mean by resetting) and none of them ended up unemployed or lost their businesses or anything. Maybe they needed to be patched, but didn't get patched, so something may go wrong later, that I don't know. But you could always test that  if you have the time. Smiley (and make backups, I have 2!)
Or you could play your households, and the minute everybody's home, save and do it to another household. Then backup and patch, them getting reset shouldn't mess up as much.  Cheesy
169  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How can my Sims meet aliens and vampires ? on: 2006 June 24, 09:05:49
You don't have to, you can tour the downtown community lots, you'll see one there.
170  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Trying to Reinstall on: 2006 June 23, 22:37:50
I had multiple errors when I managed to botch up my windows installation. Something was corrupt with windows so I kept getting random errors when installing thesims2 and EP's. When I finally managed to install those (skipped some files) the game would crash to the desktop (randomly) with no error log. And I had the same problems back in TS1 days from a cd-rom that was begging for retirement. In both cases, my cd's were fine too.
And I managed to install the sims2 with no problems at all after I formatted and reinstalled windows- the extreme measure.
Sorry about your trouble, Bluesoup.
171  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Back 2 the future on: 2006 June 23, 20:20:22
Around the Sims has a very similar version of the stereo, how about that old-style toilet with the water compartment on the wall (came with unleashed). I keep remembering and wanting more stuff, but it wouldn't be polite now, would it, to make MaximilianPS regret asking what we would like. (Although I want it all Cheesy)
And the Statue in Boxers was a kitsch version of Michaelangelo's David, and I had it in all my woohoo rooms (though I didn't call them that back then Smiley)
172  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Back 2 the future on: 2006 June 23, 17:37:12
Oh okay, my misunderstanding. Cheesy
173  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Back 2 the future on: 2006 June 23, 17:30:09
I miss a particular chair - the one that was orange, and round, and kind of fuzzy looking. It was on skinny legs.

Maybe simsbaby could post a picture of it. If he/she knows what I'm talking about.

I loved that green cafe table & chair too. Are there even any round dining tables in TS2 at all? I can't remember.

I remember the fuzzy chair too, but it wasn't moroccan. It was more retro. Not actually round, but sort of shaped to sit in snugly, with wire legs. Ooo I loved that chair, had it in every house!
And I just remembered, there was a pretty wicker seating set too (came with Unşeashed, I think)

Thank you! I'll love the others if you can make 'em
175  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fulfiling Multiple LTWs/'Impossible' LTWs on: 2006 June 23, 13:39:00
I thought everthing was sellable too, but that was a buggy lot, perhaps that was the case. I could sell quite easily every other gift item my sim got, dj booths, hottubs, telescopes. I made a thrift shop for my pleasure sims' ex's presents Smiley (and I downloaded a remake of those roses from somewhere, I can sell those from catalog)
