151  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / New Patch 1.10/2.5/3.1 on: 2010 February 09, 19:50:39
I haven't seen anything mentioned about this patch, just the previous 1.9/2.4/3.0 patch. I was installing a new world through the launcher when I noticed it said there was a new update. Of course, I didn't install it. It's just strange that they'd turn around and release a new patch so soon after the last one. Here's what it says about it on the official site:

Game Update for: 1.10/2.5/3.1

To install this update, please start your game and use the "Updates" tab in your Launcher.

This game update includes:

    * Fixes issues with the Input Method Editor for players on the Japanese SKU. Also addresses some functionality errors in the launcher.
    * Fixes a bug that prevents collectible Beetles from showing up in game.
    * Fixes a bug that causes Sims to teleport off of some of the new beds in SP01.
    * Fixes crashes and stalls when multiple patches are being installed.

It sounds like a conflict to me. Try removing any mods you have, then reloading the game and try again. If it works, then try putting the mods in one at a time until you find the culprit.

help, got the game. no problem until i put fishes n the tank. can't see them! help!

What's the point in asking multiple times if you're not going to bother to read the responses you get? After you asked the first time I answered your question, then you just ignored my post and asked again.

Have the expansion but I can't seem to see the fish? Other than that everything is working fine.  Please help!

Do you have the NoMosaic mod from MTS? I know that causes the fish and probably other things to not show.

I'm still waiting on my download to finish. It's been stuck at like 96% for quite some time now because it's connected to 0/106 seeders. I guess it's not so bad because I'm planning on waiting on installing until I know for sure it's ok to install and will work with the mods I use.
156  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Got High End Loft Stuff two days early . . . for all the good it does me. on: 2010 February 02, 22:20:49
I've been able to install .Sims3Pack cc through the launcher just fine with 2.3. Just not the store stuff. But I was able to convert the new store items to .package files and those work fine. When there's a choice, I usually choose the .package format because it's easier to delete if needed, plus I have all my .package downloads really organized so I can find stuff really easy.
157  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.9/2.4 on: 2010 February 02, 21:32:18
Does it broke anything else? I'm downloading the stuff pack, but I don't want to update to the stupid 1.8.25/2.3.33 because of my ton of CC...
Unless this stuff pack comes with new interactions, I don't think it's directly related with the base game.

The 2.3 patch doesn't break all CC. I keep seeing people say this, but I have the 2.3 patch, and the only thing I had to do differently is copy my .dbc files over to my Mods folder to get the downloaded Store content to show up. All the other cc I had before then, and all I've installed since then has been fine.

I'm downloading it now, but I won't install it until AM works with the new patch.

60 items? Goes to show how cheap the whole thing has become.

Actually, Stuff packs have always had around 60 items. So really, that hasn't changed. I'm not sure if they counted walls, floors and object recolors as part of the 60 or not, but I remembered it being advertised for most, if not all of the packs, that there were 60 new items in them.

Mods always have to be updated whenever a new EP or patch is released. Pretty soon the torrents will be up, and more people will be able to get the SP, but until then, you'll just have to be patient.
161  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Springville on: 2010 January 29, 22:03:58
It looks great, and I could definitely see myself playing this hood. I do agree with Lion about renaming the town, though. People could confuse this with the one from MTS. Actually, when I first saw this thread, I thought it was about the Springville neighborhood at MTS.
162  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Some Store objects revert to original colors on: 2010 January 29, 15:22:46
I was getting the corner issue with a bunch of the counters too. Now I've been placing my counters first, then using CASt to change the color of them and so far, I'm not having anymore issues with the corner counter going back to the default color and becoming non-CASt-able. I haven't tried it yet with the store counter, but it could possibly work.
163  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: GSC has been hacked on: 2010 January 08, 18:23:30
I wouldn't be surprised if TSR was the culprit, considering the things they've done in the past. The use of the word "pirate" also supports the theory since TSR loves calling people pirates like it's a bad thing. They called the people on the list they stole from that petition pirates too.
164  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2010 January 07, 12:36:49
I can't seem to get my sims' Egyptian boyfriend to marry her. I also invited him to stay, got a message that he'd 'passed on' but he showed up anyway. Their child also didn't have the Egyptian Culture trait when it was born. When travelling to Egypt, all thumbnails in relationship panels and family trees revert to the state they were in on the first trip instead of updating to the state they ought to be in current time.

I'm pretty sure the Egyptian/French/Chinese Culture trait are hidden. It just causes sims to be born knowing the songs from their culture and for French kids, they do the air kiss greets while the Chinese sims eat with chopsticks.
165  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patterns from the Exchange: Is there a solution? on: 2010 January 06, 02:32:30
All the patterns I downloaded from TSR and the Exchange and converted to .package format work fine for me. I don't have tons from the Exchange because of most of them being recolors of in-game patterns, but there are some completely new patterns there.
166  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Some Store objects revert to original colors on: 2009 December 29, 23:47:30
You're not the only one. I noticed this with one of the kitchen sets from the store. I recolored the counter, started placing them, but when it got to the corner, the corner counter turned to the default color and I couldn't change the color on it anymore. This makes it so I don't use the store counters anymore.

I didn't know about the book thing. Of course, the books they had just read were actually just recipes, but I guess they count as books. I've got a few hours before my family starts showing up, so I think I'm going to play the game some more. Hopefully this time it won't be nearly as buggy.
168  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2009 December 24, 16:21:12
I didn't even know I needed the FPS Limiter because I have an ancient video card (Radeon x1900) but after lots of CTDs I decided to try it out. It now runs steady at 60 fps and I haven't had any crashes in awhile now.
169  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2009 December 24, 03:56:37
I just finished up a buggier than usual gameplay session. The first odd thing I noticed was that the guy in my active family had the options to "Criticize Lousy Book" and "Praise Fantastic Book" with his mother in-law. But she didn't have any points in the writing skill and had never written anything. So I switched to her, and she had the same two options show for him. I was going to check to see if the wife could have the same options show up, but she went into labor, so I had her go to the hospital. She had triplets, and came out of the hospital carrying a basket instead of a baby, but seeing how I've never had triplets, this is probably how it's supposed to work. Anyway, she took the taxi home instead of riding in the car with her husband. But once she got home, she took off running, basket in hand, and her queue said "Go Home". She ran all the way back to the hospital, got into her husband's waiting car and they drove home. When they got back to the house, instead of pulling into the driveway, like normal, the car was parked through the front door, looking like it crashed. They got out of the car ok, but the engine sound didn't stop until I moved the car to the guy's inventory. The wife then took the basket, set it on the sidewalk and pulled the babies out, setting them right on top of each other.

I was tired of the weird glitches at home, so I had my guy go to Egypt. Everything seemed fine until he went into one of the Pyramids to get the Flame Fruit and got stuck on a flame trap. He'd catch on fire, use a shower can, but then instead of moving, he'd keep setting off the trap over and over. I finally got him to move off the trap, by using "go here". And when I sent him to the general store, he got the "Enjoying Music" moodlet and it was stuck on him for the rest of the vacation. The last thing that happened was after I got back into Sunset Valley, I noticed the family's car had green windows and headlights and I noticed the windows in the house all had a green tint to them instead of the white reflection that's usually on the windows. At this point, I quit the game.

It wasn't nearly as buggy last time I played, but I'm not sure what caused it. All I'd done since then was download a newer version of AM.
170  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Base Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack on: 2009 December 21, 22:55:56
I finally played for the first time since reinstalling & patching earlier today. I was able to play for a few hours, but just as I was finishing decorating a new house, the game crashed to the desktop. Figures.  Roll Eyes I don't know why I thought the patch would actually fix any real problems. Has anyone figured out what's causing the access_violation reading address exceptions yet? I've been getting them consistently since I installed WA. Actually, I don't think I've quit the game on my own since installing WA. I simply don't restart the game after a crash.
171  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New 'bug' with patch 1.8? on: 2009 December 19, 05:48:52
Didn't AM fix that? Because I haven't seen that happen, but I remember seeing screenshots of that happening back when the game first came out.
172  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Base Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack on: 2009 December 19, 05:45:05
Crap. I was hoping I wouldn't have to reinstall. How can I tell which version my base game is patched to anyway? I just reinstalled before installing WA, so I don't want the same thing to happen again. If I move the DCCache and Downloads folders back after reinstalling, I won't have to reinstall the Sims3Pack content again, will I?

EDIT: Well, I uninstalled again, patched the base game through the launcher, installed WA and patched and now it seems ok. It's not giving me any error like earlier and it says it's up to date. Now I just have to put all my downloads and the framework back. I really hope I won't have to keep reinstalling the game everytime a new patch or expansion comes out.
173  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Base Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack on: 2009 December 18, 23:58:33
After backing up all my files, I updated through the launcher. It seemed to patch just fine, but after it finished installing, I got an error box that popped up saying "Your The Sims 3 Base Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack. Please update your game via the game launcher." The only problem is, it's saying my game is up to date, showing it's version 2.3.33.003002. So I downloaded the 1.7.9 to 1.8.25 patch from the first page on the thread talking about the patch, but that's not working either. It tells me "The setup has detected that the installed game region for this update is incorrect. This update requires a different game region in order to be installed." I have a store bought base game and the Reloaded version of WA, so I had to change my region from 1 to 7 in regedit to install WA. I thought maybe this was the cause of the error, so I changed the region back to 1, tried the patch, and got the same error. So what region code does it want? This is the first time I've had any issues with getting a patch installed. Before installing WA, I reinstalled the game, patched it through the launcher, installed WA and patched it as well. Did I mess up by patching WA first? I didn't see any option to patch the base game via the launcher, but maybe it's because I didn't use the base game launcher.
174  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Help! My game's screwed up on: 2009 December 16, 19:01:47
I swear I have the worst luck with Sims games. When I first got TS2, I had a GeForce 6600 GT. For a long time, after an hour or so of playing, I'd get a BSOD and have to manually restart my computer. I tried everything, and in the end, the only thing that stopped it was switching to a Radeon x1900. So for TS3, I wasn't going to switch back to an Nvidia card simply because of my TS2 experience with it not working, so I bought a Radeon HD 4850 in February, just before they announced the release date was to be moved from February to June. Once the game leaked, I installed it and found that when I went into CAS, after just seconds, the music would stutter and the game would go to a black screen or I'd lose the video signal to my monitor, forcing me to manually restart my computer. I tried everything, and I mean everything that was suggested to me. The first thing I did was eliminate overheating as the cause. It never got above 57 C. So I reinstalled Windows, I replaced my power supply, I swapped the stock cooling on the card for a VGA cooler, I swapped out my old case for one with more fans, nothing worked. As a last ditch effort, I decided to try the game with my brother's GeForce 8800, and it worked. He hates ATI cards, so he wouldn't trade me even though my card was a year newer, so I tried going back to my old x1900. It worked, but the graphics sucked.

But now I can't even play on my crappy old video card and I was just thinking recently that maybe the FPS issue might have caused at least part of the problem, but after using it, my game crashed even quicker. Unless I did something wrong and FPS Limiter didn't work. I put it in the Sims 3 root directory with 3Booter. I was hoping maybe the FPS thing was what was wrong with my Radeon HD 4850 and I could go back to using it. But now it's looking like I just might have to buy a new card, but after wasting almost $300 on the 4850 less than a year ago, I'd hate to get a card and have it also not work. I'm almost thinking of buying my brother a newer GeForce card and taking his old one. He plays more games than I do anyway.

175  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Help! My game's screwed up on: 2009 December 16, 17:39:03
Well, I tried using the backup, but it didn't work. So I decided to download 3booter and FPS Limiter, thinking maybe that would help at least with my crashing issue, but it didn't. I started up my game, made a new file, and after just a few minutes in build mode, the game CTD and I got his exception:

[Exception info]
date: 2009-12-15
time: 22.35.22
type: ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x44a7ed06
address: 0x00944135 "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures\Game\Bin\TS3EP01.exe":0x0001:0x00543135

I don't get why my game keeps crashing. I didn't have this problem at all before WA. And now it seems like the crashes are getting more and more frequent. I just want it to stop so I can play the game. What does that exception mean anyway? I keep getting those ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address ones, just with different numbers at the end.
