151  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Access Violation Crash on: 2008 July 16, 15:17:55
I'm going to have my husband look over the instructions for removing SuckyRom.  If it involves regedit I'd rather he did it since he's a Professional.

I'm currently playing my Vanilla Except for Awesome Hacks game to see if it crashes the same way.  If not I'll assume it's a an "undocumented" CC conflict of some kind.  It's going to be a Bitch to track down, since I can't find any pattern to the crashes at all.

I wonder if the fact that I'm down to about 5GB space on my hard drive might be a factor?
152  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Access Violation Crash on: 2008 July 13, 22:15:09
My game has been randomly CTD.  I can't seem to ID any pattern to it.  All my hacks check out with the SW Hack Conflict Utility and I don't have the Kitten Killer or Insiminator.  the Log for the Exception file says it's an Access Violation.  I've included the log for the latest crash.

Edited to add:  I have all EPs and Stuff Packs.  I am not running a no CD Crack.

My computer Specs:
AMD Athelon 1.8 MHZ
2.00 GB RAM
ATI Radeo 9550 256 MB Mem
RealTek AC97 Audio

I understand there may be a problem with SuckyROM and my sound card.  Could this be the problem?

It been happening for months-- pre FT-- but seems to be getting worse.  No one family or action seems to trigger it.  For instance had two crashes today--all the Sims were sleeping during the first one and it was too late for random sims with corrupted skin files to have come on the lot.  The second crash occured while the residential lot was loading after a group of Sims had visited a community lot.

To be able to sort commercial lots from residential lots in the houses bin.
154  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage Patch #2: Now on thesims2.ea on: 2008 February 21, 14:08:58
The maid at the hotel is called the Housekeeper, and the problem was there was no one to call to fix broken stuff, like bathtubs and stuff before, so they added that function to the Housekeeper.

And, while I don't know about endlessly looping weddings, it seems that they deliberately got rid of the Limo as ittells you in the Prima Guide that it doesn't come any more.
155  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage Patch #2: Now on thesims2.ea on: 2008 February 20, 17:37:37
No, no adjustments to the grpahics.scr and I made sure nothing was ReadOnly.  I tried downloading the patch again, and the patch still won't install.

On the good side, the game seems to still run OK without reinstalling, so I'll just live without the patch for the time being.
156  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage Patch #2: Now on thesims2.ea on: 2008 February 20, 17:10:38
Nope.  Not wanting to have to completely reformat my HD to get rid of SuckyROM, I decided to live with it.

And this is my vanilla game with no hacks, or objects other than Maxis downloadable stuff.
157  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage Patch #2: Now on thesims2.ea on: 2008 February 20, 16:46:32
I just made the mistake of trying to install the #&(&@(& thing.  It tells me it can't install because I have a later EP installed and I need to patch it first.  FT is not out.  I have TSS, but it is neither an EP nor does it have a patch.

Then it tells me there's been an error installing the patch (duh!) and that I have to reinstall BV, so I should back up my game.

I usually don't have trouble with patches, but I'd avoid this one as a thorough f'up by Eaxis.
158  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Put Away Leftovers > Get Leftovers > ...Nothing there. on: 2008 January 02, 22:16:24
I've had that problem before--usually right after installing an EP or a Stuff pack.   I can usually fix it by using the "force error" command with boolprop.
159  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: releasing SimPE - soon on: 2007 December 19, 12:51:27
Oh, any group of people will turn into a soap opera if it's sufficiently large and long-lived.  I was on a cross-stitch embroidery forum years ago where the subject of tea-dyeing embroidered stuff got so hot and heated that one member sent another something (we were never told what) that set the recipient's daughter into hysterics.

We won't even get into the discussions on the SFWA boards at Sff.net.....

160  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The social worker made my sim pregnant! on: 2007 November 26, 17:17:25
Put floor tiles directly under the roof.  Solves the whole problem painlessly.
161  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Servo "Do Chores" on: 2007 November 03, 13:54:37
Sorry for the necromancy, but I figure keeping all discussion on hack topics in one place is better.

Anyway, does this also stop Servo's annoying tendency to cook a meal every time someone on the lot has even a mild drop in hunger score?  I don't know if this is something new since BV or just something that is happening more often or whether I've just noticed.

Baaa! in Advance
162  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2007 October 25, 23:52:43
Thank you!

I bow to your awesomeness.

(And I should have guessed it was something like that, but I was vaguely thinking of something to do with the boolprop cheat...)
163  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2007 October 25, 22:55:03
Ok, I'm trying to recover the tombstones of several departed Sims.  However, not being of the ranks of the Most Awesome, I am unable to figure out what possible methods can be used to follow the following instructions:

XXI. RESPAWN TOMBSTONE (debug mode only) (experimental) (NL)
Regenerates a tombstone for a dead sim. Note that the dead sim must be
the selected sim, which means you must spawn him somehow, then make
him selectable and choose this command.

Could someone suggest some, non-acrobatic, legal, and psychically safe methods for respawning a Sim?

TIA

165  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cheat to build out of lot range on: 2007 March 28, 15:25:02
IIRC when I used it after Pets I the side of the lot opposite the one I'd added on to got several rows of tiles that looked like they were underwater.  When I checked in the MTS2 postings about it other people seemed to be discussing how to fix it, and I never got back there to find out whether they got it figured out.

Sorry to hear the guy died.
166  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cheat to build out of lot range on: 2007 March 27, 22:43:34
Has Lot Expander been updated?  It got borked with Pets.
167  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I have a quiet, happy baby in Seasons on: 2007 March 27, 22:40:57
I think the reason that fun is being blamed is that, in my game anyway, about 50% of babies are transitioning to toddlers with their fun motive completely in the red.

168  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The scarecrow on: 2007 March 27, 22:35:13
Personally I'm getting so tired of all my Sims dying in Platinum of old age that I'm thinking of using this:

http://isleofthyme.squarespace.com/sims2ros/

to keep the game interesting.

And it's not like Maxis doesn't give you a couple of ways to ressurect dead Sims, or that you can't just exit without saving.

169  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there no cure for Petspam? on: 2007 March 26, 00:23:52
Is there a cure for Sims wanting to interact with Pets they not only do not own, but who have been sold to Townies and are therefore in the adoption pool or have disappeared into the ether?

It's making me Crazier than I was before.
170  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I'm sure everyone but me knew about this Maxis Hair for Male Sims. on: 2007 March 26, 00:09:39
Will someone please explain to a rapidly-growing-more-senile-non-awesome old lady how one actually gets the file from the rapidshare site?

All I get is an endless progression of windows each of which asks for yet more input of somesort while suggesting I spend a bunch of Euros to pay for the priviledge of NOT having to go through the endless progress of windows.....

171  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: TUTORIAL: Neighborhood Terrain Surgery on: 2007 February 10, 08:02:16
Thanks!

Actually I figured out about re-replacing the terrain about 4AM....

Neighborhood looks MUCH better now.
172  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: TUTORIAL: Neighborhood Terrain Surgery on: 2007 February 09, 13:05:20
Is there any way to avoid this?

The ugly, unremoveable tall bumps are where the houses were when I opened the new neighborhood.  I could live with the ones in the water, but I can't find any way to get rid of the one on the terrain.  I've tried lowering it by putting a lot on it, but even with the 90 degree angle hack in the game won't let me place a lot on it.
173  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Let's Talk About Spyware, Baybee on: 2006 November 04, 03:17:42
I was just playing Oblivion, and the stupid "Link" thingie decided to update itself resulting in Oblivion being locked up so badly I had to warm boot out of it.

This is at least the second time it's updated in two days, and it keeps giving me stupid messages about updates to games I have absolutely no interest in.

I take it if I uninstall the stupid Link thing I can't play Pets....

174  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Abandonated & Unconfirmed Mods: Anybody tried these with Pets? on: 2006 October 25, 18:01:07
In my game, and by reports a lot of others, custom food disappears when it's put on the table.

Dunno about the others.
175  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Check this for me on: 2006 October 22, 06:58:11
I installed the latest no redundancy hack, which I didn't have before, amd I can now call the exterminator without any problems.

However, it the Sim still jumps out of the action when I try to adopt a child.
This isn't a new neighborhood.  I've been playing it for several months.  It also isn't over populated, having about 70 playable Sims.

I checked my vanilla version of the game, and both problems occurred there, with no hacks installed.   I am most thoroughly confused.  I wonder if installing Pets somehow fubared the game's generating NPCs?

With TestingCheatsEnabled I get the following message:

Object Error

N008 User00090
Tessa #452 **
Error: Invalid Species

** This and the User # vary with the Sim actually doing the calling.

I also have the error log entry if anyone wants to see it, but I thingk it's a little long to put here.

(Invalid Species?? Me or the SIm?)

Oh, and when I shift/click the mailbox with TCE on and try to spawn NPCs "Social Worker" and "Exterminator" are not on the list of NPCs I can spawn.....
