151  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 07, 21:46:26
CURSE YOU AWESOMEMOD!

CUUUUUURSE YOU!

Which part of the phrase "test thread" is confusing to you? If you're using AM on sims that are actually important to you, it's your own fault.
152  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 06, 19:42:02
I have not experienced the motive drain, and the CTDs appear to have been fixed. Or at least lessened, as I didn't experience any during an hour of play. Am experiencing same school issues as have been mentioned already-- kids can't go to school, new school buildings can't be placed.
153  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Data Logging - Ambitions & Patch on: 2010 June 06, 00:21:33
No idea why some are ticked at load up and some aren't. I'm running an ARR'd copy and disconnect from the internet when I play, yet it was ticked by default when I loaded it up.
154  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Data Logging - Ambitions & Patch on: 2010 June 05, 19:05:27
No, I'm getting the feeling that you're missing the point here. The issue is that they are logging player data and being extremely vague about it. If this thread didn't exist, how many people would even know it was happening? Nowhere on the official website is it covered, and the only mention of it in the game is buried in the EULA. The option is enabled by default when it loads, and nowhere in game does it specify what this data even consists of. When EA is intentionally cryptic about something, that should be a red flag to players.

Yes, the majority of MATYians are smart enough to keep the game from connecting to the internet. But by determining what it is that EA wants to log, this gives a us a better idea of where they are looking to go in the future. Saying, "well, some people are already screwed anyway" is irrelevant.

So if a guy beats you down and rapes you, can things really get worse if he asks you to take a peek in your wallet afterwards?

Jesus Christ, your response makes absolutely no sense. Are you taking the position that, because EA has already fucked over some of its users, it's okay if it goes ahead and fucks over the rest too?
156  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 05, 18:04:14
Have experienced 3 CTDs so far, with base game + AMB. The first occurred after hitting the 3rd speed, the other two almost immediately after loading the game up again and keeping it at normal speed. Game ran fine while in build/buy mode, it only crashed when entering live mode.

There's plenty of misinformation out there, if that's the case. Many of the reviewers I checked out seemed to think it was a career as well.
158  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Data Logging - Ambitions & Patch on: 2010 June 03, 21:18:44
I think the issue is more why they are doing it, and what, exactly, it is they're collecting.
How does that matter? Everything they can collect at that point is harmless in comparison to what they're already collecting.

Are you trying to ask an obvious question here? It matters because player information being collected in a less-than-forthcoming manner. I don't care what they're analyzing. EA has already shown that they have zero interest in their customers beyond profit. They managed to damage the computers of legitimately paying customers with Securom, and did they care? Not until there was a lawsuit.

The people whose information is being collected here won't be pirates, since most of them are smart enough to block the game from connecting to the internet. It's the people who paid for the game legally and blindly trust EA.

I see no alternative to analyzing the player's behaviour and feature usage to better tailor the product to the player.

Since, apparently, you did not read this the first time, I will say it again: anyone who trusts EA is an idiot. Just because other companies are able to collect information about their users anonymously and safely does not mean EA will.
159  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Data Logging - Ambitions & Patch on: 2010 June 02, 20:32:52
EA and basically every publisher out there are spying on you for years now without asking for permission. Virtually every game executable will collect data and send it home. If you let it. If you let the TS3 executable or the launcher connect to the internet, the EA folks almost definitely already know if you use an arred game by the serial. They probably know if you use arred store content, too.

Most MATYians know to block TS3 (legit or not) from accessing the internet, which has always been Pescado's official advice. The issue is not so much the fact that they're doing something nefarious-- this is the same company that shipped out their games with Securom, anybody who trusts them is an idiot. I think the issue is more why they are doing it, and what, exactly, it is they're collecting.
160  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Data Logging - Ambitions & Patch on: 2010 June 01, 20:38:57
Ah, I recall reading about this in some of the previews. Yeah, they want to harvest data on player's gameplay habits now.

Wait, what? Do you have a link to this? Because although I block internet connection for TS3, that is still way fucking creepy.
161  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch that enables custom content + store items CONFIRMED WORKING! on: 2010 May 26, 00:16:48
This seems like an awful lot of hassle for something that was fixed with decrapifying. I'm also not clear who, exactly, made this "patch".
162  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Lighting problem outside. on: 2010 May 04, 22:55:32
The problem with white surfaces is a serious pain in the ass, particularly for my "shabby chic" style rooms. There is no reason for the coffee table to look like it's glowing, dammit.

Just how stupid are you? Ellipses and smileys are not replacements for periods. Knock it off, and lose the attitude. If you don't like being called on your shitty English skills, start posting like an adult.
164  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Patch 1.11/2.6/3.2 on: 2010 April 18, 17:27:23
Last I knew the framework installation instructions have repeated steps as well as steps referring to steps which aren't actually there to be referred to, plus major context errors (referring to something as belonging "where you put the other file" when you've yet to be instructed to put a file anywhere, for example).

Can you point to specific step(s)? Because, having just read through it here, I don't see repeated steps or contextual errors. Some people might be thrown by the fact that it doesn't mention HELS, but otherwise it's pretty straightforward.

ETA: Damn. Guess I'm repeating Jeeves.  Tongue

I'm to fucking lazy to make a new signature now fuck off!!!

Congratulations on advertising your complete fail. If you consider a grasp of the English language too high an expectation, MATY is not the place for you. This is probably the site you're looking for.
166  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 April 16, 23:35:20
WHY do you feel you need such a huge fucking signature? Delete it.
167  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Patch 1.11/2.6/3.2 on: 2010 April 15, 00:08:07
As are we, so you can stop making these posts. Obviously, you did not follow the instructions post, and thus have no reason to be offended when people assume you're stupid.
168  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Patch 1.11/2.6/3.2 on: 2010 April 14, 21:13:04
3.2.8.005001 is the version that shows in The Sims 3 Game Launcher, but i am from the UK so it should be 3.2.8.005002 right??

I'd tell you, but I've got too much of a shitty attitude to bother. Plus, this comment gives me the distinct impression that Silent Dreamer was dead on.
169  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Quick Question please on: 2010 April 10, 22:42:03
Did you even bother to look around the forum? Because your answer, astonishingly, is in the Patch 1.11/2.6/3.2 thread.
170  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Deleting CC in-game? on: 2010 April 10, 21:42:22
This was mentioned in another thread (possibly merged .dbc one, don't remember offhand) and while it's possible to view merged packages, I believe it's been stated elsewhere that it's impossible to extract and delete individual ones. S3PE does show images of most package files, assuming the creator included one. Postal does the same thing.

I merged a package full of CAS items which I had downloaded. In the game, I found out that there are too sexy outfits and ugly blocky hairs. So I wonder there is some tool that you can delete the ugly thing in-game as the trash button is grayed out.

Best to get in the habit of testing out packages in game before merging them. I had to learn that the hard way as well.
171  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Non EA Custom content not working after installing AM on: 2010 April 09, 17:15:40
You haven't really stated what the problem is, though, other than a vague "my CC won't show up". Any number of factors could cause this-- an incompatible mod, an outdated mod, a new patch, adding WA or HELS, and so on. It's definitely not AM, meaning you're going to have to figure out what you did.
172  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Custom Hairs still broken? on: 2010 April 09, 17:09:38
In the past, sims3packs hairs have usually worked for me, even when packages don't. I don't know why, but it's specifically connected to custom hair in package format.

As far as the caches go, I've seen this thrown around as advice elsewhere, and it doesn't always work. It's random: sometimes the game will read the files, sometimes it won't. I have literally deleted the caches and restarted the game six times in a row and finally given up, and never once did the hair show up. Other times, it will work fine 2-3 times in a row before not showing up again. I suspect not even EA knows what they're doing to break it (which is hardly anything new) since they had it fixed prior to this patch.
173  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Non EA Custom content not working after installing AM on: 2010 April 08, 17:55:47
Definitely something on your end. Double check the framework and the resource file.
174  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no woohoo on: 2010 April 07, 16:54:33
I remember a Sims 2 hack that was something like this.  No woohoo, and instead, sims requested babies from a garden flamingo.

Jesus. That sounds more scarring than introducing your kid to the concept of sex.
175  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no woohoo on: 2010 April 07, 03:09:14
What's the point of playing a legacy without woo-hoo? Is everybody going to adopt?
