I still wish it was less ridiculously easy to obtain and maintain romantic relationships.

NL added the attraction system and it's not even useful. The "dating game" is absolutely no challenge. By the time the relationship is high enough for a sim to say yes to a date request, the whole relationship is already in the bag. Sims can have absolutely nothing in common, be disgusted by each other, and still fall in love, get married and procreate. You don't even need to interfere before or beyond clicking *get married*.

<- Pants were too tight.

Thanks, Roux. Started a new hood to test it out and, in fact, that was the case with my other hoods. Friends are above the level and no need for target calls.

153  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2008 July 09, 23:43:48
Indeed, tried replacing the phones.
Also, just now, tried with *only* my Pescado hacks in. Still no auto-yak.

Can not figure out what the heck is borked about my game and no one else's regarding this hack. I've checked and double checked the versions. Tried pulling out that hack and putting it back in (which has solved problems with other hacks before), tried pulling out all hacks and putting just FFS DC back in (checked and double checked all versions of all those hacks as well).

No idea.
154  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2008 July 09, 14:13:53
Downloaded, again, and replaced. Then removed every hack/mod I use *except* ACR and the FFS DC. Dumped all caches and even the freaking thumbnails.

Still no auto-yakyak.

Anyone else using the mose recent ACR with this and ok? I know that IKEA borked the booty call and TJ updated on the 5th.
155  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2008 July 08, 14:35:24
Popping in to note that as of the latest versions available (downloaded this morning 7/8/08) autoyak is still not working. No "call"--"friends/targets" options available.

There also seems to be some strangeness happening with those calls that would normally be some strange sim calling your playables to ask them to go downtown. Playable will answer the phone, chat for approximately 1 sim minute and then hang up. I believe it is the invite downtown call only because of the particular sim making the phone call (that is, she's the one who always seems to make those invite calls in this hood of mine and the 2nd time she called, the sim who chatted with her before hanging up had never met her before).

Might be only my game. Might be a conflict with the IKEA stuff pack - since that appears to have done something to the phone -  but this hack is no longer wirking for me.

Anyone else?
157  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Taxi charges money on: 2008 June 14, 12:51:26
Fully agree.
I just installed BV and FT less than a full week ago and haven't actually used the "walk-to" feature. I keep forgetting it's there. So I hadn't actually considered that (yes even after reading the above posts) walk-to would be an easier alternative.

True that if I were to walk downtown (or even to the nearest corner store) especially right now (when it's been in the upper 90's- low 100's) my enegy, hygiene, hunger (moresothirst), comfort, and perhaps even my fun would be drained. Or perhaps if I was a fitness minded active individual my fun would actually raise. Or if I lived in a mountainous area and loved nature, maybe my comfort would get a boost.

Really, though, would altering the walk-to need boosts/decays be something to roll into this hack? Or perhaps it would be better off as a stand-alone modification. So even those who don't want to cashcab (ha) get the "reality" of walking around town.

It would make this mod even more appealing, though.
158  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Taxi charges money on: 2008 June 13, 21:53:06
Yet another vote for the §50 cab fare and for an included fee for the ride home.

I'll change the current fee myself ala your notes (thanks for that) but just adding that I think it'd be a hotter item with a higher price. Wink If you look around most folks that hang here tend to want better ways to keep their sims struggling for the simoleans (more expensive NPCes, harder jobs, mortgage payments, etc). It is, generally, too easy to keep the cash flow above a minimum.
159  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 June 12, 23:03:56
I'd vote well over my single user limit for a Pets-ACR.  Maybe then I could actually do the breeding kennel scenario I've wanted to do since I installed the EP but gave up on when I realized my bitches and studs all needed to be in love first.  Angry

The noises you describe, the type of freezes and those particular graphic glithces actually sound like your vid card is fried. How new is it? If it's still under warranty I'd take it back and grab a new one. If it's not... try yanking it out and examining it. Although without an eye that nkows what it's looking for it might be hard to tell if it did blow somewhere.

Not saying it is but from past experience with fried cards what you describe sounds just like it.
161  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Zombify NPC? on: 2008 June 10, 00:07:08
Yes I have the noregen hacks. Pets and BV seem to be the same in that as soon as you load a hood into your main game, the Maxis-mades will be auto-genned. Unlike a downtown or shopping district (when using anygamestarter). So even with AnyGameStarter, if you want truly fresh and clean you need to stick with the clean templates.

And what gynarchy said. Yes there is a way to do it without the clean templates and that's to make it a clean template yourself after creation unless you want to leave a whole lotta crap in your game.
162  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Zombify NPC? on: 2008 June 09, 03:40:33
It does.
Roundabout I ended up just creating a throwaway cult leader to kill and zombify. What I didn't want was any sort of "met" or "moved in" memories related to my main sim. I wasn't sure if those were created with the shrub.

Not the cleanest method of cleanup but at least all those BV NPCs and tourists are now dead and buried. I'm still not sure why they were created. I used the AnyGame to make all the sub-hoods as well.
163  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Zombify NPC? on: 2008 June 08, 23:08:14
I fail at Google - or I just can't come up with enough unique searchable words to find a difinitive post on this.

I've decided to play my own version of an Apocolypse hood - though not in the challenge way. I used AnyGameStarter to make a completely empty new hood (I tossed my clean templates on my most recent EP installation and haven't felt much like finding and putting them all back in).
Unfortunately after loading it up and placing she who will save the world in her house I've found she is not at all alone. The walkby-es actually started shortly before the newspaper delivery kid was generated. First an elderly woman and shortly thereafter an elderly man. Not too long after that was another Maxisfugly man. So these are definately default townies or NPCs.

I checked the character file folder and there are now 154 files.. where there should be 2.

I'm sure some of these are pets. I'm loading up SimPE right now to check _bwot!_ what I am wanting to know is if there is some way, using the teleport shrub and any MATY hacks (like the lot debugger) to make these unwantables into zombies and have them simply be the remains of those who didn't survive what ever tragedy happened here, continuing to "live" in townie land.. or possibly move them onto a secluded playable lot somewhere - without causing an unwanted relationship with my playable.

I haven't played much, or really at all with changing the unplayable populace of any of my hoods so fiddling in these matters is all new territory to me. Any advice would be greatly welcomed.
164  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Help: Unknown Wants (BV) on: 2008 May 31, 14:38:36
Just a note on this: I had the same bug after installing BV and FT a few days ago. I double checked updating all my hacks  and it still wouldn't go away. Strangely enough what fixed it was simply removing my Pescado folder, running the game, quitting, and then putting my Pescado folder back in. It's a trick I always try from previous expansion bugs. If that doesn't work I try the one by one hack removal.

Might not work if you don't have your hacks subdirectoried by creator.
165  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nuke Attraction Bubbles? on: 2008 May 29, 02:10:25
That is exactly what I was, in fact, looking for thankyouverymuch.

Naturally will still be waiting for the asyet undiscovered shiny. I prefer to mingle as little non-awesome as possible in my hacks folder.
166  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nuke Attraction Bubbles? on: 2008 May 28, 14:00:25
Hopefully it'll nix them, so you don't see the constant disgusted bubbles or hear the puking noises when a sim is near a seen they find unattractive. Noticablr reduction would be acceptable as well.
167  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nuke Attraction Bubbles? on: 2008 May 26, 15:40:08
Perfect. Can't wait to test it out.
168  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Nuke Attraction Bubbles? on: 2008 May 25, 16:56:20
About those annoying  farting hearts... and that they become increasingly annoying as time goes on. I remember several EPes ago Dizzy had a hack that made them non-existant but if I recall correctly it was rendered null and void.

I'm curious if there is still a shiny for this out there somewhere that anyone might know about.

I haven't expnaded beyond Seasons yet, so don't know yet if any of the new EPes have wiped them out.
169  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2007 August 06, 04:21:35
Hmmm. Yes it was temporarily "lost". What when why or how is known only by the gods of sims2 WTFness. After making the above post I redownloaded the directors cut and overwrote all the hacks I have from it, which includes autoyak, fired up the game and viola. Call Friends option was back.

Guessing the version I had was somehow corrupted or... something.
170  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2007 August 06, 00:55:23
Curious if anyone else has recently lost the "Call Friends" option from the pie menu?
I still have "Call Targets" available, but not the "Call Friends" No idea why and befoer I go digging through hack to find out which one borked out of no where sometime between last week and this week I just wanted to check if anyone else has run into something similar.
171  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Not so random randomness on: 2007 April 27, 00:31:34
I've finally got a very nice mix and match of CAS facials from various creators. There's enough out there now and where I didn't like one from one I found I did like that one from another and so on until finally they all look just right for me.

I never did like DocDoofus', though. They all looked exactly the same to me for some reason.
172  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Kitty Condo on: 2007 April 27, 00:27:24
Exactly. Of my 2 cats, one prefers to sleep on my pillows on the bed while I'm not using them. When I am, he finds the rug in front of the computer perfect - even though there's a house full of fluffy comfortable chairs/sofas and a gigantic fluffy dog-pillow (which the dogs don't use either mind you).
The other prefers either the top of my dresser or the tiny crack of space under the stereo/entertainment cabinet.
173  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can the horrible werewolf walk be fixed? on: 2007 April 26, 00:07:29
Can also be replaced with Sta but only in rip-offs.
174  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nasty Environment score on downloaded house on: 2007 April 24, 21:56:57
Fine then. *revokes the ' * My question still stands!

As is.
175  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nasty Environment score on downloaded house on: 2007 April 24, 21:47:52
So.. if one has no NPC's (<- non possessive, indicating plural) visiting a lot how would one know there is indeed an invisible fire amuck? And is it possible such a fire - of invisibleness - would indeed burninate?
