126  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nanny doesn't recognise FT baby items on: 2008 March 20, 20:15:28
Roffle, I wish I could say I was surprised in the least bit. Baaaaa Inge!
127  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Newspaper, Job Outfits, and Other Weirdness... on: 2008 March 20, 20:00:38
I'm having some seemingly unrelated weirdness post-FT.  I can interact with the newspaper normally except for finding a job, which my sim will initiate, sit down with the paper, and then stand up and dump the paper wherever handy without finding a job.  Find Pet Job For... is completely absent as an option.  They can read it, do the crossword, make airplanes to their heart's content.  No errors show up in debug mode, they don't "jump" out of the action, the jobs simply don't pop up.  They can find jobs through the computer without a problem.  I wondered if it was because I upgraded a CAS sim to uni status with the FFS debugger but a townie she moved in who hadn't been upgraded was similarly unable to use the paper to find a job.

Sounds like a hack conflict. I know you said you didn't want to pull your downloads, but you can try doing a binary search to track down the offending hack. This method is pretty quick and you can obviously exit without saving each time so you don't mess up anything permanently.

Second bit of weirdness: aforementioned sim and her dude change for work and head off as normal to their shared carpool.  They have the exact same hours, and when they arrive home, both are dressed in their casual everyday wear instead of their work clothes.  WTF?  Did they change in the goddamn car?

This was happening to me too but in the last few rounds of hack updating it seems to have fixed itself. Have you downloaded the latest versions of the FT hacks? I was having problems with SS members not wearing their uniforms and no one showing up at Toga Parties in togas too, not sure if those are related.

Moar weirdness.  They get in the hottub.  Fucking ACR.  I have warmthfixes from here but it's spring and their temps go down to blue.  In the time it takes to woohoo.  Is that normal?  They're not vamps or anything, just normal sims.  I'm used to them spontaneously combusting, not turning to ice cubes.

It can still be cold in the Spring and can even occasionally snow. What is the outdoor temp on the lot debugger?

Last weirdness, a fire started on a different lot.  *snip* Tried nuking scenarios with debugger and asking for Garden Club membership again.  Same response.  Sigh.

Try the stuck object remover to nuke the invisible fire.

Edited cuz I r noob.
128  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to generate dormies? on: 2008 March 20, 17:41:15
You can create them in YACAS, move them into an empty residential lot in the Uni subhood and use Inge's teleporter to add them to the Townie pool. Since they are YAs they'll become dormies.

Here ya go.
130  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Oh no! There's another one! on: 2008 March 19, 22:01:06
I *think* the way to avoid NPCs spawning using the Downtownie templates is by selecting "Switch to Downtownies" on the NPC gun, ironically enough. I don't remember which EP broke the way it worked but it's been doing that for a while. I haven't heard of a way to force the game to stop using those those templates all together, though.
131  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Features from other EPs carried over into Free-Time on: 2008 March 19, 21:18:23
It might have been easier to carry forward the Pleasure Seeker aspiration than it would have been to figure out how to exclude it as an option for people without Nightlife - Grilled Cheese too. Zombies were made if you didn't pay the Reaper enough cash when you rezzed someone with the Paranormal phone. Pleading just gave you the option to save a Sim from death. Either you beat him and the Sim lived or you lost and the Sim croaked.
132  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Features from other EPs carried over into Free-Time on: 2008 March 19, 18:25:36
Changing hairstyles according to outfit maybe?
133  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Oh no! There's another one! on: 2008 March 19, 17:09:21
He's one of the Downtownie archetypes. If you are feeling particularly lucky you could try spawning him off the NPC gun, but you'll probably end up like me and get the same elfish trenchcoat guy 324932432 times in a row.  Tongue
134  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Corrupt lot/memory/sim? Or no big deal? on: 2008 March 19, 16:50:45
Then, I went into her parents' house (where she lived during the dream date).  Her date came by with a hot-tub, even though she doesn't live there.  Then, he called the house, and I got a notice with him saying, "Oh, Teen Sim isn't there?  I'll call back later."  Could he have done this because she was in the bin with no phone?

I had this happen once before and the phone calls continued even after the Sim he was calling for had died. I ended up dropping a satellite on the guy because he just wouldn't give up. I also noticed that any new contacts that a Sim may acquire will call back every night until s/he gets to talk to the target Sim. I think there's a token in their memories for contacts and follow up dates, you could try removing it in SimPE and see if that stops the calls. I've never actually tried this, I've only seen the tokens in their memories, so having a backup on hand would be a good thing to have.

Additionally, her mother had the LTW to graduate three children from college.  She actually graduated FOUR (the teen had a twin brother) when I re-entered this lot.  She's permaplat, but still has the same LTW.  I can't remember if she had the memory of the daughter growing up well or not.  Her HUSBAND had that memory...

Does the mother have the memory of each of her children graduating? Three generations of mothers in the house that I play only have the memory of their first child graduating college. I have to manually add the memories of any additional children graduating. The fathers and even siblings get all the correct memories but not the mothers. I haven't had the graduate 3 kids LTW yet so it hasn't caused any issues yet but it's still weird.
135  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims Can't Go Home! on: 2008 March 18, 20:15:00
There are a few tutorials out there on cloning Sims, but I use the steps jolrei outlined here. Moving occupied lots from one neighborhood to another is a Very Bad Thing™ and should never be attempted.
136  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Piano sound cuts out - is there a fix for this? on: 2008 March 18, 19:21:55
Is the University lot residential or community? Is there a party or other event going on at the same time? I have sound issues with the stereos sometimes but I haven't noticed anything with the pianos.
137  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims Can't Go Home! on: 2008 March 18, 19:15:40
How did you move your Sims to the new hood? Unless you cloned them and recreated them in CAS, your best bet is to burninate and start over.
138  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: this is a beautiful lot by Emma, with only one glitch in my game on: 2008 March 18, 17:23:48
My husband lived in a house without working bathrooms for quite some time. He said it wasn't so bad, as long as you have a Hardee's or other fast food joint nearby. I am always afraid to ask how they showered.
139  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 18, 00:24:43
I sent my plat aspiration sim into the energizer and he came out with all his bars red! Angry

You can either get the fix for this from the Director's Cut here or from TwoJeffs over at his place, they are both the same so just pick one to use.
140  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Best way to completely nuke unwanted babies? on: 2008 March 18, 00:17:24
You can spawn the Tombstone of L&D via the testing cheats and change first names that way too, if for some reason you didn't want to use the lot debugger to do it.
141  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 17, 04:56:58
Have you check your Sim's inventory? Unlike the other crafting tables all the sewing and pottery projects end up in the inventory, not on the tables. That doesn't explain why the table becomes unusable though.
142  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This... BFF spam on: 2008 March 17, 02:52:33
It sounds like her Sims have a lot of family members and they can still become BFFs even with JMP's hack - read the hack description again. He also says in the BFF hack thread that becoming BFFs with long-deceased relatives is an EAxian "feature" but it would be corrected in the next version (which I presume isn't available yet since it is still occurring).
143  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Personality type needed for sponge bath? on: 2008 March 17, 00:08:40
Primping also raises hygiene a tiny bit if your Sim is alone but like Kyna said, if there is someone else controllable around grooming is much better.
144  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Personality type needed for sponge bath? on: 2008 March 16, 17:40:10
The Prima guide says sponge bath is available to Sims with Sloppy/Neat below 6 and hygiene -50, so you can take that for what it's worth.
145  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Make My Ghosts STFU? on: 2008 March 16, 17:32:27
*slaps self in the forehead* Click the tooooombstone... reading comprehension ftw. I gave that a try and they're still pissed off. I'll give TJ's hack a shot or if that doesn't fix them I might just rez the bastards and kill them again. Cheers for the suggestions!
146  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Make My Ghosts STFU? on: 2008 March 16, 06:28:44
I don't so much mind the ghosts being out and doing what ghosts do as I do the incessant screeching and flapping of the arms. The two ghosts who are affected don't ever actually enter the house and disrupt their descendants, they just mosey around the yard and be mad about their bed every few minutes. I  just checked the lot debugger with one of them and I didn't see a set family type of option. I guess I could move the two of them to a mausoleum with a ghostbuster so the other ghosts can come and play without being disrupted, but I was hoping I could just flip a switch of some kind and make the two be quiet.
147  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Make My Ghosts STFU? on: 2008 March 16, 05:53:35
You know how it goes - I moved my Legacy family to a new home to try and sort out the wedding party error problem and now the ghosts are pissed because they no longer recognize their beloved bed. I searched and came up with a few existing threads on the topic but the only thing I found was changing something in SimPE, yet it didn't say what that something was. I did find some useful info on how to prevent the constant whinging in future generations but is there anything I can do to shut up the ghosts I already have? Would sending them off to a community lot and moving them back home (and presumably resetting their ghost types with the debugger) make them stop?
148  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighborhoods and Townie creation (Updated for BV) on: 2008 March 16, 05:39:17
They are attached to this post.
149  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New bug? Some NPC's missing from PhoneBook on: 2008 March 16, 03:33:58
I also notices the instuctors not being in the phone book(what is interesting is that I think the instructors are townies not NPC's).  It says in The Sim Enhancer, that the family doesn't have a phone--I wonder in Sim PE, if you give them a phone, maybe you will be able to call them.

I had read that the hobby heads shouldn't be in the phone book and yet mine are. I created my own in CAS and then used the NPC gun to assign each to a hobby but I am slightly concerned that they appear in the list of Sims to call with the "Head for Numbers" perk. I haven't tried actually calling one of them yet because I have enough problems with my game crashing without any help from me. I will give it a try and see what happens.

ETA: It just gives the "So-and-so doesn't have a phone! You can't call someone without a phone!" message if I try to call one of them. I did notice a handful of NPCs listed though, like the burglar and the bartenders so I don't know what the dealio is.
150  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Controller - CLP - Community Lot - Populator on: 2008 March 15, 17:18:44
So you expect help even though you can't be bothered to read the FAQ or even the other posts in this thread that indicate the problem lies in an outdated mod? Good luck with that, I'm sure you'll make plenty of BFFs here.
