126  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Teeth Replacement on: 2007 February 20, 00:47:21
I'm pretty sure that MerCo is short for Mermaid Cove, and the only men I could think of having a website called that would have to be superstious saliors, lol!
127  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Flashing Neighborhood Screen In Pets on: 2007 February 13, 10:13:37
I got red flashing neighborhoods after installing the Pets patch. What I did was first tried removing the downloads, then regenerating the neighborhoods, then re-extracting the neighborhoods from disc 4 of my TS2 discs (in case they were corrupted), then I finally uninstalled Pets, which fixed the problem. I reinstalled Pets, but not the patch, and I haven't had the problem again. I know that doesn't tell you why it happened (especially since you're the only other person I've heard of having a problem similar to mine), but I hope it helps.

It occurs to me, I had just done a full reinstall, so I installed Pets and the patch without playing between. Maybe somehow the patch messes up the initial loading of the Pets "subhood"?

ETA: Nevermind, you actually played a few houses before you started getting the flashing neighborhood, I got it immediately on loading, so I'm not sure what happened....
128  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Alien and Zombie skin being used to generate sims. on: 2007 February 11, 22:35:11
While blue hair tends to be the province of females in DBZ (Bulma, namely), it did just occur to me that Piccolo looks remarkably like a Maxis alien, except he has white sclera and naturally angrier (and squarer) eyes.
129  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Werewolf complaints.... on: 2007 February 10, 15:36:02
Your werewolves are afraid to hear each other howl? That's so lame! They should want to hear each other howling!
130  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Alien Eyes Contacts on: 2007 February 09, 16:49:11
For some reason Maxis decided that only green-skinned alien spawn should have the alien bug eyes. I always fix my default replacement alien eyes to not require the alien skintone to appear because I think a half alien with "normal" skin and alien eyes would be cool!
131  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Getting Dell to honour Vista Upgrades on: 2007 February 07, 15:39:45
I still use Winamp 2.95 as my default audio player. It's clean, unobtrusive, and skins for it are still out there to make it customizable. Of course, I've never actually tried the Winamp 5 series, anyone know how it compares in functionality?
132  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maxis/EA update re nVidia & Pets incompatibility on: 2007 February 04, 04:11:05
It's interesting to see that NVida cards are having a worse problem than my brand new ATI Radeon did with the Pets patch. My game didn't crash, but all the neighborhoods were flashing red, as if some kind of terrain were missing. I tried removing my DL folder first, then I tried deleting the whole Sims 2 folder so it would be regenerated at start up, then I extractd the base neighborhoods from the base game in case they were corrupted and regenerated the Sims 2 folder again,, then I uninstalled Pets (which fixed the problem). I reinstalled Pets, but I'm leaving off the patch for now, going to double check mod updates first and then set a system restore immediately before repatching in case it fubars my neighborhoods again.
133  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Best aspiration to fulfill fears? on: 2007 February 01, 11:52:40
Also, a Sim with high neat in an E-Mail challenge lot would likely piss themselves all the time also.
134  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Custom hair: How to get one Elder grey? on: 2007 January 29, 10:00:19
People do it so that their elders can "dye" their hair their natural color. I don't mind my elders having gray hair, but I admit that if it comes pre-binned with no gray, I won't bother giving them proper gray for the elders.
135  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Custom hair: How to get one Elder grey? on: 2007 January 28, 02:01:26
What I usually do is make sure that the elder gray hair is only checked in the black bin (and in the custom bin if I'm using it, since they seem to be considered separately or something) and that the tool is removing the unchecked textures. When binning a separate gray package with the other colors, I make sure that only the elder in the gray section is checked and in custom if used.
136  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Graphic's card advice? on: 2007 January 28, 01:49:00
I'd been running on 256 RAM for a long time (the very minimum to chug along a Sims 2 game), but recently added another 512. Drastic improvement! My Sims game loads 10 times faster than it did before. I'm sure a full gig would make it run even better, but honestly I'm just happy I'm down to 3 minutes for the initial game load from 30. Wink
137  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CAS: A hack to stop sims from moving? on: 2007 January 15, 00:55:12
As a warning: this stopped working for me after installing Pets. It might have been a conflict in my personal downloads, but keep that in mind, just in case.
138  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Screening maternitywear? on: 2007 January 01, 02:27:44
I don't use Squinge's pregnancy clothing mod, but I do have a pregnancy replacement package. It uses Cassandra's dress and the NL vampire dress, so those are both pregnancy morphed as well.
139  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Atavera's Stuff (Check the entire thread) on: 2006 December 11, 07:34:27
Actually, I think it enables opening and closing of certain Maxian windows, like the "double-hung" (I think that's the right name, lol).
140  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seeking elder hair mod on: 2006 December 11, 00:30:52
In matters of chemistry I could definately see how that would be nice, though. If you think your red-haired wife is hot, she should still be just as hot when she starts dying her hair, even if it is gray underneath!
141  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Zombie Apocalypse: BRAIIIIIIINS! on: 2006 December 10, 02:59:14
Gypsy potions need to have unexpected side-affects when taken with lower than gold aspiration (like aspiration items do). Like a supernatural "cure" like Vamprocillian-D got totally borked and could randomly do nothing, make you sick, make you a second kind of supernatural, give you cheese-brain, or just kill your sim outright (and then you'll have to beg for their life from the Reaper). That would be consequence for dealing with fraudulent gypsies!  Grin
142  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Custom default eyes not being used many times? on: 2006 December 09, 12:45:12
I'm not sure if you have to change their DNA to make them appear to have normal eyes, but if you want their kids to have proper eyes you probably still need to change that too.
143  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to remove the custom content marker from Maxis clothing? on: 2006 December 03, 10:33:07
Windkeeper made a package file listed on MTS2 (here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=158172) that makes Uni clothes usable by adults. Maybe looking at it could help you fix your own files?
144  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Syberspunke Archives / Re: Testers Wanted: Move In All for All Ages ZOMGPETZ!!!111oneoneone Edition + f on: 2006 November 30, 20:39:40
IIRC, I do think that Ste actually is listing those as incompatible. Firstly, the note directly below is about incompatibility, and secondly, I'm pretty sure that these were listed as incompatible by Pinhead when he was making this hack. Or I could be totally bonkers. I always have Ste's hacks load last anyway because anything they might conflict with is usually included in his hacks, so his code is the one referenced.
145  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Sedona OFB sub-hood - an default alternative to Bluewater on: 2006 November 30, 20:31:44
I figured as much, but I wanted to double-check. Thanks.
146  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Sedona OFB sub-hood - an default alternative to Bluewater on: 2006 November 30, 19:56:15
The game will only refer to the template folder when creating the sub-hood, right? So if I wanted to add Bluewater to Pleasantview then put in the Pets version of Sedona and add that to Strangetown, would both work properly when I tried playing them later?
147  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Car woohooing and date wants questions on: 2006 November 28, 18:31:02
Are they unable to woohoo in cars ever on residential lots, or is it specifically couples with children? If it happens to be the latter, the hack you want is the sshack, but you will still get nanny pop-ups, you just have to hit the "Nevermind" button. Otherwise, sorry I couldn't be more help, all I can think of is do you use the Maxian cars or do you have custom ones? If they're custom, try switching with a regular car to see if that helps.
148  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Hair binning tool on: 2006 November 27, 18:16:34
I had the one from his thread here on MATY (the update, I mean), but I couldn't get it to work. I am going to try the one from his site (which actually has an earlier modified time than the one here) and see if I can get that one to work....
149  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Big nose problem on: 2006 November 21, 01:12:25
Yeah, but the poster said they had no downloads at all, which would include replacement faces. Wink Still, a good thing to note as something to check.
150  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Why do so many people's male sims look like women? on: 2006 November 17, 06:43:35
But Mungo and Addy look so cute together in that picture!
