I'm pretty sure that MerCo is short for Mermaid Cove, and the only men I could think of having a website called that would have to be superstious saliors, lol!

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Flashing Neighborhood Screen In Pets
|

I got red flashing neighborhoods after installing the Pets patch. What I did was first tried removing the downloads, then regenerating the neighborhoods, then re-extracting the neighborhoods from disc 4 of my TS2 discs (in case they were corrupted), then I finally uninstalled Pets, which fixed the problem. I reinstalled Pets, but not the patch, and I haven't had the problem again. I know that doesn't tell you why it happened (especially since you're the only other person I've heard of having a problem similar to mine), but I hope it helps.
It occurs to me, I had just done a full reinstall, so I installed Pets and the patch without playing between. Maybe somehow the patch messes up the initial loading of the Pets "subhood"?
ETA: Nevermind, you actually played a few houses before you started getting the flashing neighborhood, I got it immediately on loading, so I'm not sure what happened....

For some reason Maxis decided that only green-skinned alien spawn should have the alien bug eyes. I always fix my default replacement alien eyes to not require the alien skintone to appear because I think a half alien with "normal" skin and alien eyes would be cool!

It's interesting to see that NVida cards are having a worse problem than my brand new ATI Radeon did with the Pets patch. My game didn't crash, but all the neighborhoods were flashing red, as if some kind of terrain were missing. I tried removing my DL folder first, then I tried deleting the whole Sims 2 folder so it would be regenerated at start up, then I extractd the base neighborhoods from the base game in case they were corrupted and regenerated the Sims 2 folder again,, then I uninstalled Pets (which fixed the problem). I reinstalled Pets, but I'm leaving off the patch for now, going to double check mod updates first and then set a system restore immediately before repatching in case it fubars my neighborhoods again.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Custom hair: How to get one Elder grey?

What I usually do is make sure that the elder gray hair is only checked in the black bin (and in the custom bin if I'm using it, since they seem to be considered separately or something) and that the tool is removing the unchecked textures. When binning a separate gray package with the other colors, I make sure that only the elder in the gray section is checked and in custom if used.

I'd been running on 256 RAM for a long time (the very minimum to chug along a Sims 2 game), but recently added another 512. Drastic improvement! My Sims game loads 10 times faster than it did before. I'm sure a full gig would make it run even better, but honestly I'm just happy I'm down to 3 minutes for the initial game load from 30.

I don't use Squinge's pregnancy clothing mod, but I do have a pregnancy replacement package. It uses Cassandra's dress and the NL vampire dress, so those are both pregnancy morphed as well.

In matters of chemistry I could definately see how that would be nice, though. If you think your red-haired wife is hot, she should still be just as hot when she starts dying her hair, even if it is gray underneath!

Gypsy potions need to have unexpected side-affects when taken with lower than gold aspiration (like aspiration items do). Like a supernatural "cure" like Vamprocillian-D got totally borked and could randomly do nothing, make you sick, make you a second kind of supernatural, give you cheese-brain, or just kill your sim outright (and then you'll have to beg for their life from the Reaper). That would be consequence for dealing with fraudulent gypsies!

Are they unable to woohoo in cars ever on residential lots, or is it specifically couples with children? If it happens to be the latter, the hack you want is the sshack, but you will still get nanny pop-ups, you just have to hit the "Nevermind" button. Otherwise, sorry I couldn't be more help, all I can think of is do you use the Maxian cars or do you have custom ones? If they're custom, try switching with a regular car to see if that helps.

I had the one from his thread here on MATY (the update, I mean), but I couldn't get it to work. I am going to try the one from his site (which actually has an earlier modified time than the one here) and see if I can get that one to work....
