I don't even understand normal flirting. Am I ever in trouble . . .

*starts looking for more tequila. and vodka*
127  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Puddle Rage on: 2005 November 29, 23:54:49
Although this feature sounds cool -- what household drama is more common than the slob/neatfreak tension? -- the way it's implememented is, er, stupid. I don't know how the game tags puddle ownership, but I don't think it tags puddle type. Shower = water balloon = pee. Holdover from the way Sims 1 handled it, although I *think* there was a hack that "fixed" it so that pee was yellow. And then, in the second version, so that only pee was yellow.

"Puddle rage" sounds kinda nifty, though. Like what some easily annoyed, very small pirate might get.
128  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Revenge of Blue, the Torment of Pescado... on: 2005 November 29, 03:55:30
Gah. Why does the cool stuff always happen while I'm elsewhere?

Bravo, BlueSoup. And how's the Meditteranean island? I imagine it's quite nice this time of year.
129  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Fix Request: Peein' Klaus on: 2005 November 28, 22:40:58
Maybe if you put Santa in a locked room with the reindeer, he'll pee on that. It is electric...

Say . . . you know how it's theoretically possible to give male sims to pee on graves and other objects?

Heh heh heh. I may have to actually learn how to hack for this.

Yes digital cameras are evil!
Your soul gets sucked into them when you have your picture taken!!

Don't all cameras do that?
131  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: POLL OF THE WEEK: Does BlueSoup Have A Fat Head on: 2005 November 28, 05:23:39
Infrared photography? I'm sure you have some sort of nightvision apparatus about.

Oh, wait. I know what your answer is. That would be your eyes. Dang vampires . . .

And you can always close your eyes. We know what color they are.
132  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: POLL OF THE WEEK: Does BlueSoup Have A Fat Head on: 2005 November 28, 05:17:17
I'd like to see Pescado post his picture up here so we can all critique him as well!
As BlueSoup so cleverly discovered, it is very difficult to take pictures inside of a bunker. And how would I even get it into the computer? I don't own a scanner.

It's difficult to take pictures anywhere if the owner of the place is trying to shoot you, run you over with a tank, burninate you, etc.
133  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FREE Car download! And this one actually looks GOOD! on: 2005 November 28, 04:21:29
It's actually relatively small, as far as tanks go, but no proper road warrior should be without an armored vehicle. Them road pirates are pretty mean. People are much less willing to ram you when they know you'll crush them into paste without a sweat.

Road warrior? Someone's been playing a few too many post-apocalyptic RPGs, methinks. Either that or Montana actually does resemble "Car Wars." In which case I'll definitely need to move there.
134  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Will you morons just stay out of her coffin?? on: 2005 November 28, 04:18:08
JM, I thought you got all your iron from raw meat. Or is that included under drinking blood? And all your fiber from top secret documents, too. You have truly strange dietary habits.
135  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: what is simpe on: 2005 November 27, 01:11:45
This conversation is quickly becoming surreal. Though, if one had to take a random guess, one could do considerably worse than "robotic baby harp seal" for general me-ness.

I do tend to associate people with their avatars, though. Mainly just as a mental tag. So it takes a bit of getting used to one someone changes theirs, and when two people use the same one I always tend to get them mixed up.
136  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightmare scenarios. on: 2005 November 27, 00:52:13
Ah, okay. Sorry. It's not my memory, but something seems to be spazzing out on me . . . like, the ability to read? Anyhow . . . Komei has had pretty decent looking kids in my experience, although it was only once and a long time ago.
137  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Uni Invulnerability For Dormies on: 2005 November 27, 00:49:03
And that's why all dorms should come equipped with cow plants: to put those poor, confused dormies out of their misery. And so we can point and laugh.
138  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightmare scenarios. on: 2005 November 26, 23:45:03
Uh . . . that's not Komei Tellerman. Unless my memory's spazzing out on me, that's Trepie's self sim. They have the same hair, but that's about it.
139  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I have Simpotence on: 2005 November 17, 02:39:56
Simsville is and was a seperate project from the Sims 2. It was announced several years before TS2, and died remarkably shortly after that.
140  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's getting the x-mas pack? on: 2005 November 17, 02:38:35
Why, it's even been know to steal office documents!

Which is why we should eat them. Also, they're an excellent source of fiber.
141  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's begun... on: 2005 November 17, 02:32:38
I get all the fiber I need just eating sensitive documents.

Pescado . . . it's a new diet, and a new nationa security campaign! Just what America needs. Like that "duct tape and plastic sheeting will keep the terrorists out" thing.
142  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's getting the x-mas pack? on: 2005 November 13, 22:42:13
Refuse to buy it, on matter of principle. If they don't value me, the person who bought the game as soon as it came out, I'm not giving them money. My sims will be godless Communists!
143  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I have Simpotence on: 2005 November 13, 15:09:42
Tad late here, with this whole shared neighborhood thing, but figured I ought to throw out this random idea. Probably a seperate thing, but I'd rather float it here than make a new thread.

You know how there's that series of stories on the TS2 website involving all the moderators, in a BBS based neighborhood? And there's something about making all the moderators as superheroes on MTS2? It would be really, really funny to make sims of the more vocal characters here, and on VS, and put them all in a neighborhood togethor. Maybe set up the initial relationships in SimPE. Rentech would hate everyone, but mostly Pescado and the other MTS2 people, the VS people would all idolize Rentech and hate Pescado, Inge, etc.  We could even have a couple of random idiots (max playful, min nice, max outgoing, min neat) who wandered around annoying people. (Ferret1, Ferret2, and Ferret4, perhaps?) And, of course, we would have to use all FFS hacks. Mostly the Fight Club. And give Pescado several "Won A Fight With Mystery Sim!" memories.

If anyone wants to upload a self sim for it . . . no reason why it actually has to look like you, of course. Just reflect your internet persona. Like I said, though, just a random idea. It's my hobby.
144  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this make sense? on: 2005 November 13, 14:51:42
Oi. Although I can kind of see how people would think they can blow internet pictures up and have them retain detail, if they're used to working with actual photos, since film picks up details the human eye can't even see without magnification. Computer images operate under the WYSIWYG principle.

But then, why are these people get images of the internet anyway? It's really, really hard to find decent pictures on the web.

Fish slapping! Yay!

Shlip, shlap, shlipper shlapper vay,

Shlip, shlap, you simply can't go wrong,
In traditional fish slapping song!
146  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim wants to fall in love with her husband's alien son on: 2005 November 09, 22:47:36
Inbreeding is only a problem if there are recessive defects in the family. Trouble is, that many features that cause lifethreatening illness when one has two copies beneficial when the person only has one copy. Sickle cell anemia is like this; protects against malaria. And cystic fibrosis protects against cholera. So you have a situation where if there aren't any other carriers of a gene in the population, a carrier's descendents will do much better than everyone else, but the more carriers there are the worse any individual carrier's descendents are likely to do. The benefits of this situation are maximized, and the problems minimized, with inbreeding taboos.

In the sims, of course, where there are no genetic diseases, inbreeding poses threat except to the sensiblities of the users and the coherency of the family tree display.
147  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim wants to fall in love with her husband's alien son on: 2005 November 09, 03:10:03
I noticed the uneven relationship thing with one of my families that had the alien child. The human stepmother (you know, the one whose husband had the alien baby) was a romance sim, and once the alien child was a YA at Uni she rolled wants to flirt with him. However, she couldn't ACT on the wants - flirt never came up as a possibility in her interactions with him, and he couldn't flirt with her. I thought it was pretty funny at the time, actually. Like, she was all "oooh I have forbidden desires" in her slutty romance way.

It's not a bug, it's a feature!

The family dynamics of aliens are always interesting.
148  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I have Simpotence on: 2005 November 09, 03:06:30
I haven't played for at least a week. Homework and such. But I did have a four day weekend . . .

At any rate, whenever I get really bored with the game, I spend some time just torturing sims. Often I'll come up with some little story for it, too. Like a semi-demonic couple who went through a new incarnation every time they'd killed a certain number of sims. Coming up with creative ways to make electronic people miserable is something that I find breaks many a mental block.

E-mail challenge is good for this reason.
149  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim wants to fall in love with her husband's alien son on: 2005 November 08, 22:01:06
I think they set up the neighborhoods, and they were rushed and didn't play them at all, so they didn't realize the extent of the illogicalities inherent in them. Or something. Maybe "Maxis Monkey" is more than a joke.
150  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Twojeffs PC Meltdown on: 2005 November 08, 21:55:20
Also, I just got Civ IV, so that's going to suck up a lot of my time as well.  Grin

Great. Pescado's off conquering the galaxy, and now TwoJeffs is conquering the world. And his computer.

Isn't modern technology wonderful?
