Title: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: MaximilianPS on 2007 October 13, 16:44:32 By chatting with MaryLou we notice that some time ago, when it rain the sims play an animation where they put ands over the head and then run in home.
Also sometime, they play the animation "Ehy it's raining" loookin up. Then come seasons, and the animations disappear. Also, there was a sort of bug, 'cause ML told me that her sim is taking the sun on the beach ruing a rain storm ... ;D any chance to restore the old animation and the rain reaction, so they can be safe from electrocution-Lightning ? Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: Emma on 2007 October 13, 16:48:17 I think you may be right, the sims seem to ignore the fact that it is raining now. The only time they put their hands over their heads is when it is hailing. Then they just stand there with their arms over their heads being stoned to death...stupid sims.
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: MaximilianPS on 2007 October 13, 17:00:06 indeed this forum is one of the few hope to get a fix :)
is it true J.M. ? Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: Alexx on 2007 October 13, 21:45:29 Seems that in E.Axis nobody knows that when it rain, a bit better to have umbrella than put hands over head instead. :)
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: FourCats on 2007 October 13, 22:24:31 maybe they don't get much rain in CA?
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: Insanity Prelude on 2007 October 14, 00:27:31 Depends where in CA. Last year, we were camping in the northern part of the state, in the mountains, and it hailed. In the beginning of f-ing August.
- actually it was kind of fun, the whole family (us, and the aunts and uncles, and their friends...) trying to cram into Uncle Matt's trailer and under the awning. :D Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2007 October 14, 06:10:52 Antiweatherreactions does not fix weather reactions down to an acceptable level?
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: Emma on 2007 October 14, 06:43:47 Umm, doh-I forgot I had that installed :D Yeah, that's probably what it is.
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: MaximilianPS on 2007 October 14, 08:22:16 Antiweatherreactions does not fix weather reactions down to an acceptable level? i think Antiweatherreactions remove the stupid run to the window to see the rain/snow and it's ok but where are gone the typical reaction when they are out of door ? Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2007 October 14, 09:17:06 Weather reactions should only occur, period, if your queue is empty, because queue stompage is BAD.
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: sloppyhousewife on 2007 October 14, 09:26:46 Have they ever reacted other than with the "OMG it's raining" to rain? I cannot remember my sims seeking shelter from it, only from hail.
Edited because I didn't see Emma has mentioned hail already Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: Emma on 2007 October 14, 09:57:19 I think you may be right, the sims seem to ignore the fact that it is raining now. Silly :P Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: sloppyhousewife on 2007 October 14, 10:01:03 Yeah, that's what I get for skimming. I really should read more carefully before posting, not afterwards :D

I cannot remember my sims seeking shelter from it, only from hail. Nope. It's always just been "ZOMG RAIN!". Actually running inside to avoid it when it gets bad is purely an artifact of Power Idle.Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: jsalemi on 2007 October 14, 13:50:06 Weather reactions should only occur, period, if your queue is empty, because queue stompage is BAD. Well, I can report that two sims on a beach lot in the beach vacation hood (the boardwalk one) got caught in hail, and their 'it's hailing' reaction kept stomping any commands I gave them to walk back to their hotel. I had to cancel out the reaction at least 4 or 5 times and then re-give the 'walk to' command to get them to finally leave. One of the two was a guest, so I don't know if that's a factor. Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2007 October 14, 14:53:37 The Hail bombardment action runs at max priority, so naturally stomps everything. Since it can't be broken out of automatically, it is designed to basically kill all autonomous sims. Hail is bad!

Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: Assmitten on 2007 October 15, 12:22:17 Seems that in E.Axis nobody knows that when it rain, a bit better to have umbrella than put hands over head instead. :) I know! They can pull everything else out of hammerspace, but there's not even an option to arm them with umbrellas if you wish. Whut? Whut? It seems such a waste of a Seasons opportunity. And you could have extended the logic in BV and have sat Sims out under beach umbrellas in summer to tan/burn at half-speed. Mind you, it'd probably have ended up broken to the point where the umbrella acted as a lightning rod and you'd have ended up with a charred Sim rather than a dry one... Agreed, they probably would have done that. I can just see it working like a cel phone. Maybe I will actually go over to the board and suggest it. They took one of my suggestions once, which was probably made by 5,000 other people too. Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: Emma on 2007 October 15, 13:16:11 I'd just like to point out-since I have said that my sims do not react to rain at all, every sodding walkby I have had in the rain has put their arms over their heads and done the 'omg it's raining' reaction. ::) I blame MaximilianPS.
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: MaximilianPS on 2007 October 15, 13:54:40 when the modder discover the rain, on the ts2 (the base game) period, we see some animation that where connected to the rain.
So if the sims are on the garden and you put the rain over his head they run in home full-of-fear. so my research to a more credible game, pushed me to ask about some "normal" reaction when they get hitted by rain :P isn't usual to see peoples playing with waterbal or clean the garden during an hail-storm :P Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: Zazazu on 2007 October 15, 14:42:08 It seems such a waste of a Seasons opportunity. And you could have extended the logic in BV and have sat Sims out under beach umbrellas in summer to tan/burn at half-speed. No, no. Nothing as logical as that. While we're at it, have shade keep them from heat stroke, and have them stay in the shade when they are sunburned and it's 82 (apparently that's 115 farenheit in sim figures) instead of trying to sunbathe. Or, at least, keep out of the hot tub. I finally had to take it away from my tourists ('hood tourists, not vacation tourists) during the double-summer due to too many near-deaths of off-lot playables and a tourist's ass catching on fire. I then added a small room under the deck with a lemonade stand to cool the beachgoers. They go in, grab some lemonade, and proceed to sunbathe while sunburned. Get up and do the hot-sand dance, then go right back to sunbathing. Get up, hot-sand dance, pass out from heat stroke. Get doused, go back to sunbathing. Idiots. In other news, I wish they would have tied towels to some sort of genetic feature so that a sim would pull out the same towel every time. Apparently, Rodger Burnett, the nasty old man who's shacking up with his step granddaughter, has eight or so in his nether regions. I think they made it taboo in Maxis to tie anything in script to genetics after TS2 base. Apparently, Rodger Burnett, the nasty old man who's shacking up with his step granddaughter, has eight or so in his nether regions. It's probably because of the lousy maid service at the hotels. They never get around to doing the laundry either. Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: MaximilianPS on 2007 October 15, 17:31:47 anyway they have WRONG BEHAVIOR with the weather ;p
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: dizzy on 2007 October 16, 17:43:14 I totally agree, but you know this complaint comes about six months later than the EP. :P
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: MaximilianPS on 2007 October 17, 08:13:24 we talk about it here (http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=53768) to...
Title: Re: Weather reaction is wrecked Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2007 October 17, 08:38:35 Given that sims are not adversely affected by rain and I am NOT going to add a source of queuestompage, we are going to officially decline this request. If you want them to run inside from the weather, Power Idle will already perform Bladder Guard in response to a thunderstorm. This issue is closed.
