I got a fortune sim and she wanted to buy a game costing at least §3000. There is no game for that so I usually just buy the bowling alley. Did not satisfy the want. I ignored the want until another the 'buy a game costing §5500 rolled up. Bought the bowling alley-didn't satisfy the want. The only thing that satisfied the want was Gwill's painting of the bowling alley.

Has anyone else noticed that these wants are broken? If not, then it is something in my game that isn't working right. :-\

It's broken.In my game for this case I have custom obj.of this category with price 3000.

Buy wants in the post-NL era are just a form of cash-check anyway, as absolutely nothing prevents you from simply buying the offending item, stuffing it into the sim's inventory, and immediately junking it for your money back while keeping all the ASP. Just CRTL-CLICK on the malfunctioning want to satisfy it and receive the ASP, it's the same result that would happen if you actually went through all the aforementioned rigamarole: You get ASP, don't gain the item, and don't spend any money on the item. Buy wants are your friend!

Hey! That's exactly what I do. Makes much more sense.

On the subject of buy wants...  Anyone else been getting these since BV:

Any idea what's causing it?  I'm assuming it's an outdated hack.

I've got the Sept. 30th one and this is still happening.

Make sure you don't have an old version hiding somewhere in your downloads directory.

I've noticed that the "Buy Jewelry" want is not satisfied in BV, although "Buy Souvenir" works just fine.

Also, I took one family on vacation, learned the pound chest gesture , and they got the vacation memory icon. The next family I took also learned the gesture, but the icon was never fulfilled although it appears in the regular memory area. Is there a way to fulfill the icon now?

Gwill's painting works just fine, but I have to spend §2500 more than needed. Not unless Gwill makes a new painting for the §3000 one...? *Emma bats eyelashes at Gwill ;D

Until it is all fixed I will use Pescado's cheaty method :P

I suggest you just clone it and change the price, or just modify mine.  I have been vaugely planning to update all the paintings, make them borrow recolours and other small stuff, but I'm not easily inspired lately.

I use HighStakesPokerTable(sorry,don't remember who is author),but you can use any custom object of this category and  set price for it with
SimPE or Categorizer from SimWardrobe.

I could have sworn I saw a set of paintings and sculptures to fit those wants that don't match anything in the catalog once. Hmm. If it weren't for the fact that meshing still scares me, I'd do it. Paintings are easy.

I had those paintings once, but don't remember where I got them. I stopped using them when I started using TwoJeffs 'Object Min Cost Want Hack' which lowers the want cost to actually match stuff you have in your catalog.
