For a while now I've been searching for a mod that changed where the light from the game's sun came in on the lot. Instead of from the back, it would change it so that it would be shining down on the front of the lot. I remember seeing it a year ago or two, and I didn't download it but I told myself to remember to download it another time. Unfortunately, I never remembered, until now, and after searching 'light', 'sun', 'front', 'sunnier' and combinations of those words on MTS2 (where I remember seeing it), it gave me results that weren't what I was looking for. I also searched on Google, 'sunnier lots TS2' and other phrases to do with light and sun on TS2, and didn't get much result from that either. A few weeks ago I also searched for it, but I never got much from that. I also searched on MaryLou's profile on MTS2 (because I thought that she had made it), but it looks like that she didn't make it. If anyone knows who made it, give me a shout out, please!  :)

I just wanted to check this here, before I put a lot of effort in - did anyone ever make a hack to allow playable sims to manage apartments to some degree, even just to collect rents and show up as the landlord?  I can't find a phrasing that doesn't result in AL troubleshooting, AL torrents, and generic lists of hacks that are compatible with AL.

I'm not sure there is a mod that does this, but you might be thinking of MaryLou's mini lots that were edited by aelflaed to have the sun at the front.  Check her profile here (http://nene.modthesims.info/browse.php?f=143&u=874636&gs=0) and look for the Sunnyside lots - there are several flavors, including a few I just noticed - yay!  There will probably be something helpful in the descriptions or comments.

Apparently I fail at Google.  Is there a "no sparkly food" hack somewhere?  I want to be able to harvest produce and cook fish, but without having the resulting served food have enough nutritional value to feed one sim for the rest of its natural life.

What the heck's "evil" about it?  It's stable, adds a bunch of new features like the roof slope slider and the stuff in the pack is actually pretty good looking.  Sure it's got SuckyRom, but everything after BV or Freetime has that so it's no worse than the others.

Master J.M.P. J.M. Pescado suggest many many time to do not install it 'cause it's full filled of bugs so, maybe, it is better to stay a way from it  :P

I said no such thing. However, there *IS* a caveat: If you install MGS, you MUST also install AL. Otherwise there is no compatible way for hacks to detect that the engine is post-AL, and therefore, hacks will fail gruesomely.

There might be a caveat to this caveat. I don't have AL, but I do run Double Deluxe Store Edition with MGS (Uni, OFB, various SPs) and the hacks seem to be fine. And my game appears to be stable.

Depends on the hacks used. Some of them are now ticking timebombs waiting to explode, though, as code will think it is running pre-AL, and therefore, fail spectacularly in certain cases.

I'm thinking there must be two (or more) versions of the store edition. The reason I ask is because I tried to use the DD no-CD cracks and they wouldn't work. Further investigations make it seem as though it is a post AL/MGS engine seeing as I had all the cheats and my user interface has things like the FT aspiration meter and grayed out spots for where things would go if I had those EPs. I also have use of BV jewelry (in CAS) and ceilings.
This is a different engine, no? Will very bad things™ happen using the hacks with a post AL/MSG engine?

Does anyone know if anyone has made a staircase which takes up only 3 tiles rather than the usual 4? (Not counting the space at the top, just the staircase itself) I am sure it must be possible, because there are the ladders which only take up 1 tile and work perfectly fine. Just not sure whether it's been done.

Does anybody know if someone made a suit of armor statue? I'm making a medieval castle, and I really need some.

Check around MTS.  They do lots of themed objects there, and I'm pretty sure I've seen either armor suits or an ensmallened version of the OFB Giant-Ass Knight Statue there.

Oh, crap. I checked that site all day and couldn't find anything, but I decided to look again and search the earliest objects and found it on the second to last page. "Knight" didn't get anything in the search bar, but "Knights" did.  ::)

I'm looking for a mod which I saw a long time ago on MTS2, however I haven't been able to locate it since The Sims 3 came out. The Mod caused the evil witch to have a normal  appearing skin tone and if I remember correctly it also prevented the yellow flakes from appearing on the good witch's skin. If anyone has heard of this mod or knows where to find it I'd appriciate the help. I've searched MTS2 under witch, skin tone, and their mods. Thank you.

No, because while evil toys are hilarious, failed snapdragons are simply bad, and tend to result in the creator being found dead in a pool of its own piss.

- No autonomous RPS

Any ideas where I could find them?

There's a "no autonomous socials collection" by Squinge at Insim which kills those interactions, but it also prevents sims from fighting autonomously (and who would want that :P).

Some quick-but-twisty Google-Fu found "No Autonomous Punch U Punch" Me in Monique's No Autonomous Hacks (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=127110) over at MtS2. It's been several years since they've been updated, but there are no comments about it not working anymore. There are several no-autonomy hacks/mods in the collection but none for RPS that I could see.

Separate from the 'no autonomous socials' fight-eliminating multi-mod, Squinge also has a standalone No Autonomous Rock, Paper, Scissors (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=595d788e4d77380d2a7d4c50b675699b&topic=7024.0). It's with the EP3 mods and was updated in 2007. No idea if it still works, but if Monique's stuff from '07 is still working it might be worth a try.

Does the lovebed from AL really only have 3 beddings available or is my game screwy? Is there a fix so any maxis or custom bedding can be chosen for it?

I've been all over MTS and every site I could find that had anything LOTR and haven't been able to find what I want.

I was looking for a Haldir-sim, or at least the Lorien elf outfit he wore in the first movie, the one with the grey cloak wrapped around neck and shoulders. I can probably make a sim-Haldir I can live with, but I have nothing to dress him in.

At this point, I'd be happy to find an adult male outfit vaguely similar for recoloring - trousers instead of tights, shirt or short tunic and some sort of cloak. (Most of the medieval and fantasy stuff I've seen has a tunic down to the knees or features tights or tons of decoration that I probably couldn't remove or hide with my weak recolor skills.)

Count Four, elfmaid at TSR (http://www.thesimsresource.com/members/Elfmaid/downloads/browse/category/sims2-clothing/) has 2 elven outfits without tights or too much ornamentation :-\

I am terrible at searching....coming up with nothing and I know I once had some pre-nightlife cars that were just to look like there were cars but weren't yet driveable.    F-P made a few I found,   but there was once a number of them.    I am trying to make a parking lot look realistic...but unless I make it residential the cars don't stay.   Can help?  Thanks, K

Is there a mod that makes children bring home playable children instead of townies? I don't mind childhood friendships, but I'm sick of seeing those NPCs when I have plenty of children in the game that I actually like.

Twojeffs' school bus mod (http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=15.0) does not fully restrict children and teens who are brought home to playable sims, but (according to the readme) does make them much more likely to be playables, and also favors those that the child coming home hasn't met yet.  It also gives you an option to reject the friend before the child gets off the school bus, if it does turn out to be a townie that you don't want them to be friends with.

I age three of them up whenever one of my playable children transitions. I don't think there are any townie children left to bring home in my most played hoods.

I'm a newbie and I'm planning to start a SCI-FI storyline (with a little legacy mixed in it) game on TS2... The general idea is the hero came from an all male planet and the heroine came from an all female planet, then they meet on earth, fall in love, yada, yada. If possible the "aliens" will have longer lifespan than human. I'm planing to use three empty or custom neighborhoods for this story line, each neighborhood will represent one planet (male planet, female planet, and earth).

For preparations I've been downloading Enayla's geneticised fantasy eyes and skins, empty neighborhoods template from here (plus reading the tutorial for empty/clean neighborhood), Director's Cut mods/hacks from here (plus the updated RTFM). My questions are:
1. Are there any mods that enable me to make all-male neighborhood or all-female neighborhood? In other way, majority of the population of these all-male/all-female planets will have same sex sexual preference (with minor population that are hetero, if possible).
1.a. Are there any mods that allows me to choose sexual preference for the entire neighborhood? This means there will be autonomous same sex marriage, wooho and pregnancy/male pregnancy.
1.a. Are there any mods that allows me to choose the unborn baby's gender for the entire neighborhood?
2. Is there a mod that alter/prolong sims' lifespan for the entire neighborhood and for individual sims (for the hero and heroine who will be stranded on earth)?

For now I have TS2, Uni, NL, OFB, Pets, Seasons, BV, FT. Any help will be very much appreciated!  ;)  Thank you so much in advance! Preferably the mods are compatible with Awesomeware/Director's Cut (because, I've read the RTFM, and most of the mods in that folder is simply awesome!). Your subject and verb should always agree.  "Mods" is a plural word, and should thus be paired with "are", not "is".  I mean you wouldn't say, "Those mods is..." would you (I am giving you the benefit of the doubt here, because I am just THE NICEST PERSON)?

I have NL but never played the vampires because they are stupid.  I read on this site that Shaklin made a hack to stake vamps.  I can't find it - and it's not on the graveyard. 

Anyone know where to get it?

Or any other method for killing another sim that I could use on vampires?

IIRC, other than never aging, vampires are just as mortal as everyone else, and you could undoubtedly kill them with any of the numerous devices for sim murder that Paladin made.  Or you could just lock them outside during the daytime, like with traditional vampires.

I did download the disintegration ray from Paladin...but I'd really like to have a sim stake the vampires.  And since the hack exists somewhere, I want to try to get it.

I've also been looking for a flamethrower...seems like the game has all the animation for that already - fire extinguisher, and sims burning to death.  But I can't find one of those either!  Anybody seen one?

Does anyone have these skins?  There were two or three if I remember correctly.  One was named Paolo.  They were full skins (face, hair, clothes).

Okay, first off I need to apologize for being a moron.

Second off - if anyone is interested, the "staking vampires" action by Shaklin IS indeed at the Graveyard.
It is bundled in a download called "Vampire Kiss."  That sounded like some fruity Twilight thing, so I dismissed it.  My mistake.  It lets you buy Holy Water and Stakes in the buy mode, put them in your inventory, and then kill away.

But now I have my heart set on a flame thrower...so if anyone knows where I might get one, I would love to hear about it!

I'm looking for the best most comprehensive live mode camera out there.

I'm too used to Sims 3 camera and I can't tell what exactly is wrong with Sims 2 camera, and I need something to make it feel *better*. I have "Live Camera Fix" from MTS, but it's not quite doing it.

I think it might be the way the game doesn't like to pitch and rotate at the same time, but I doubt there's a fix for that.

I used Gunmod's camera mod back when I played Sims 2 and found it acceptable.

The TS3 camera is basically completely freeform by default, so when you zoom in, the camera just moves closer in a straight line, while the TS2 camera is on a swoop rail, so when you zoom in, it follows a curve and tends to level out. This curvature can be adjusted: I have one where it remains nearly vertical for most of the duration before levelling out rapidly before performing a faceplant into the ground. The TS3 camera, on the other hand, does not do this and will happily let you faceplant it into the ground.

Is there a mod that lets the driveway extension (not the driveway) turn 45 degrees or can it be done.

*sigh* So, I have already downloaded the "real sickness" hack to decimate the number of my residents. Now I am looking for the following:

1. A Killing Gun or other deadly device that will be used autonomously by Sims (teens and up).

2. Medication. Not Shaklin's Hack, but basically something buyable, sellable, OFB agreeable. Something like a cough syrup and such for a Pharmacy. No Decorations please. It's not that I'm really cruel, I do try to help my Sims as you see - I am a caring Creatoress ;-)

3. Other downloadable, infectious diseases that may end deadly for my poor Sims. I am in posession of the Zombie Disease, but am wondering, what else may be there...  I don't really have an Apocalypse in mind - yet!

I am thankful for any hints, tipps, tricks, links, hacks, mods, DL's and chocolate chip cookies :-)

That IS what we want.  Generally, we want members who are intelligent enough to search for their problems and read the FAQ.  If you HAD read it (and it's posted in a prominent place on the forum), you would have discovered that signing one's posts is frowned upon here.  Even if you hadn't read the FAQ, if you had read any posts here, you wouldn't have seen anyone sign her post.  Also, we prefer members who DON'T get butthurt about a little bit of sporking.  What we did was barely the minimum of what we're capable of.

WCIF a hack that allows you to create children in CAS without having any adults, as Awesomemod does in TS3?

You can't. In TS2, this behavior is hardcoded. To work around it, create them as adults and then de-age to toddlers and re-age back up using SHIFT-Click.

Oh, is that how you do it to prevent them from automatically failing school and being taken away by the social worker as soon as they move in?

To do it "properly", always de-age to a category one-below and then allow the "normal" age-up to set all the attributes correctly. Then you use any number of available options to wipe out all the garbage memories this generates before they spread to the rest of the neighborhood.

2.  A mod that changes the way playable employees at sim-owned businesses are paid, so that they don't get paid twice (once when you actually play the business, and once when you play the employee's house and they go to work and get a salary).

WCIF either a hack that allows for mixed-age fighting, slapping, etc... or a pose box to mimic such actions? I'm trying to illustrate a story in which, among others, an elder beats her teen child.

I am 99% sure, that I saw something like this in a Sims modding site, but it was long ago. Am I going insane, or such a thing really exist? ???

Yeah, that was the last thing I looked at before I posted. I checked through the archives too and I'm not seeing anything. I'm looking for a mod that will allow me to keep empty apartments vacant instead of the game forcing townies to move in. I've briefly looked through the mods here and tried searching Google and Modthesims, but I've not had any success. I'm not even sure that such a hack exists, but it would be very useful to me if it did. Thanks in advance.

Anyone know where to find items from the Celebrations or Glamor life SPs? My limited skills at torrenting mean I can't figure out how to install a downloaded version (something about a crack), so I was thinking there might be a download somewhere with just a bunch individual items to put in the downloads folder. Maybe?....   

I doubt such a thing exists, since it's a lot faster to install a ripped disc than to clone all the content. Just google the instructions. It isn't much more difficult than learning how to install downloads, if at all, so if you figured out how to use CC you should have no trouble.

Is there a mod somewhere that stops the darn newspaper from being delivered every morning? Maybe occasionally would be ok, but I'm tired of having rotting newspapers on my front porch.

I'm taking the risk of getting severely sporked by asking this but I'm desperate. I found a lot of dead torrents and dead sites where people used to be able to get all the Sims 2 pre-order bonus items. I have no idea where else to look. Does anybody know where I could find these items or is anybody willing to re-upload these?

You don't need any mod for this: Just take 3 newspapers and bury them under the foundation, under the stairs, under a counter, etc. Since they will not be expired by a new delivery, they will never rot, and therefore, no one will attempt to clean them up.

What free items at the official site are you unable to download?

The only thing that seems to be missing is the Hot Rod. I believe the M&G pre-orders need to be downloaded separately from another thread too, in case anybody else besides me is looking. Someone also updated or fixed some of the free stuff that was available for free on the site but that collection isn't complete either. I'll keep on searching.

Is there a mod to make sims in a tent sleep until the normal wake up time of 6:00am and/or one to not have them freeze in the tent in the winter? Since they are in a tent, I would expect them to be shielded from the weather and able to sleep until morning.

And apparently not.  Having been camping on several occasions, I can attest that a tent will keep the weather and wind off of you, but it does fuck all for the temperature.  Campfires aren't just there to give you the thrill of potentially starting a forest fire; they're a necessity for keeping warm when the temperature drops.

Hmm, I take it that is a no on the mod?  ;)  As to the other, I've been on some mountain climbing trips sleeping in tents without freezing to a block of ice...in my younger years (ha ha). I'm trying to play a group of sims who live completely outside. I have custom content for all other things that the game deems have to be inside, but not tents that allow normal sleeping and temps. It's frustrating when the sims get up in the middle of the night freezing, but I don't want to set the whole neighborhood to skip winter. If anyone knows of anything that might be helpful, I would appreciate it.  :)

I once had a CC that 'improved' the Elwood bedding from the Holy Simoly donation pack 1. It allowed the Elwood bed to take any bedding, Maxis or custom, and enabled the beddings that came with DP1 for all bedding.

I'm pretty sure I got the improved Elwood bedding here, but I can't remember who did it. Anyone remember who 'fixed' the beds/bedding?

Files are "slaved" to take the recolors of another object. I just Googled "holy simoly slaved", HugeLunatic did a lot of Slave files, in this case someone else modified the files and HL reuploaded.

When playing the violin my sims stop as soon as their fun meter is full.  Someone had said that I may find a fix for that here.  I did try google, but as the first post says, I such at it.  Is there such a fix?

Yes, necromancy is bad, mmkay.  Unfortunately, after several hours of searching, all I can find is the exact opposite of what I'm looking for.  I suppose that's one of the problems of still playing The Sims 2 in 2020.

Does anyone know if there is a mod/hack/whatever that prevents sims from autonomously flirting/accepting flirts?  I am so sick of going to a community lot and having my married sims "admire" or "Be admired" just as their spouse walks onto the lot.  Even worse is when happily married *Family* sims let some random townie or playable flirt with them while their spouse is on the lot.  I've had to disable visitors on my residential lots, and watch like a hawk on community lots so I can make everybody selectable as they arrive and set them to "Macro/Dig for Stuff." (Power Idling doesn't seem to stop them from interacting, sometimes)

At least as bad is Uni lots where the stupid cow mascots run into the house before I can stop them and start flirting with my sims.  While it's amusing sometimes to take control of said mascot and make them sit in the snow in their underwear while they go into aspiration failure, I just want a little sanity in my game -- and everybody being horndogs all the time is NOT sane.

BTDubs, I do not have ACR.  I've been R'ingTFM, and the only autonomous behaviors that can be turned off are the ones ACR itself initiates.

RomanceMod ought to resolve most of your weirder flirting behaviors, assuming you have nothing else installed that influences flirting and romance. Sims should behave much more appropriately with that on, as your annoyance list seems to parallel mine.

Yes, I have already been using romancemod, but it's mainly the Family sims I have trouble with.  Sims with other aspirations still get upset when a sim they're in love with woohoos another sim while they're on the lot, but at least it doesn't cause them to become furious and torpedo their relationship.  I guess I'll just have to make sure none of the sims from the latest generations have the Family aspiration.  Then at least I won't have to watch over non-playables like a hawk, to keep them from destroying marriages.

I just don't understand why EAxis would make an aspiration for Family, and then NOT have such sims be able to autonomously refuse romantic interactions from other sims that are not their spouse.

I believe RomanceMod made them do precisely that, since I seem to recall specifically writing that. However, if you've been picking them shitty partners with which they have poor relationships...

Ok, so, I'm lazy af but I want to replace all the clothing in my TS2 game. I went into the default database and replaced all the clothing for toddlers, I wanted to move to the adults but... There's a frickin lot.

Replacing the clothing for toddlers was already time consuming and I just gave up.

I haven't been able to find replacement dumps for clothing like those for hair. Does anybody now about a Clothing Replacement dump?
